Honey, I Shrunk the Bumblebee.
Synopsis
[edit]Bumblebee is out enjoying a lovely spring day when the scientists Wheeljack and Perceptor reveal their new invention: a micro beam that will allow Bumblebee to shrink down to insect size and explore the world of insects himself! Bumblebee has a jolly good time helping some ants on their work, having a "tea party" with a butterfly, and climbing flower stems with a ladybug.
That's when he spots Optimus Prime enjoying his own walk through the meadow and attempts to greet the Autobot leader, but he's so small Optimus can't hear his voice, let alone see him. However, he receives help from a pair of bumblebees honey bees who grab him by the shoulders and fly him up to Optimus' eye level. Unfortunately for him, that's when the micro beam's effects start wearing off – rapidly growing too heavy for his insect friends to lift, Bumblebee ends up falling to the ground. Still, he's excited about the fun adventure he had and looks for Optimus to tell him all about it... unaware that he's fallen right on top of Optimus, who is knocked out under Bumblebee's butt.

[edit]- This comic was published in the April/May/June 2024 issue of TV Magazine and advertised the EarthSpark 1-Step Flip Changer Wheeljack and Skullcruncher.
- It was rerun as the February 2025 issue of the webcomic where it advertised Studio Series Rise of the Beasts Bumblebee, the Transformers Fan Book 2024, and the first collected edition of Go! Go!.
Transformers references
[edit]- As per Oda herself,[1] this issue is a (significantly lower stakes) riff on the Generation 1 cartoon episode "Microbots," wherein the Autobots use a similar shrinking device also developed by Perceptor to infiltrate Megatron's body and surgically remove a spaceship engine. Long story.
