First unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, Transformers: EarthSpark is a toyline for the accompanying cartoon, primarily aimed at a younger demographic. It is largely similar to the previous Cyberverse toyline, with many toys revolving around a gimmick, as well as sharing three size classes: 1-Step Changer (now renamed to "1-Step Flip Changer"), Warrior Class, and Deluxe Class. The two new size classes, Tacticons and Spin Changers, are the smallest and largest size classes, respectively. EarthSpark also includes redecoes from Cyberverse.

Tacticons

[edit]

The smallest size class, the Tacticons are bite-sized toys that can transform while on your finger to "forge a connection with Transformers robots like never before."<ref name="facebook">July 22 Official Transformers Facebook post revealing the EarthSpark toyline: "Forge a connection with #Transformers robots like never before with Transformers: EarthSpark Tacticon figures that convert around a finger! Fun in every flip! Convert 1-Step Flip Changer figures from robot mode to alt. mode in 1 exciting step by flipping the bot in the air!"</ref>

1-Step Flip Changers

[edit]

Carried over from the Cyberverse 1-Step Changers but slightly smaller and generally even less articulated, the 1-Step Flip Changers have a greater emphasis on "flipping the bot in the air."<ref name="facebook"/> This is despite the fact the actual gimmick at the heart of these figures is a switch on their robot mode which when pressed - if, say you tipped them over on your desk - releases the mechanism to automatically transform them into their alternate mode in a pleasing flurry of motion. Of course, this means multiple toys have a variation on the 'switchblade' transformation used since all the way back in Age of Extinction.

1-Step Smash Changers

[edit]

Succeeding the Flip Changers in 2025, the 1-Step Smash Changers transform from vehicles to simple robots when smashed against something. Or really just by pressing down on fins at the rear of the alternate modes.

Warrior Class

[edit]

Much like Cyberverse, the Warrior Class toys are more articulated than most size classes in the line but with a focus on an attack gimmick. Several of the figures are redecoes from Cyberverse. Waves 5 and 6 introduce a "Combine & Ride" gimmick similar to Powerlinx that allows figures to form an upper body to attach to a compatible vehicle mode or to allow another half-robot to attach to the top of their vehicle mode. This feature uses the same connections as the below Cyber-Combiners assortment. Many US retailers stopped carrying the size class in 2024, and by 2025 the size class was dropped completely.

Deluxe Class

[edit]

The Generations-esque Deluxe Class toys have a greater focus on show-accuracy, accessories, and articulation. Befitting the more collector-orientated designs, the first few waves of Deluxe Class toys were available on Hasbro Pulse.

Each toy from the first four waves of figures included a piece for a Build a Figure of Mandroid, with one swappable arm. Wave 5 and beyond dropped the extra pieces, and new releases of prior-wave toys from that point on also lacked the Mandroid parts. Wave 7 in 2025 saw a new packaging style, visually similar to Authentics packaging.

Like the Warrior Class, several of the figures of "legacy" characters are Cyberverse redecoes. Disappointing, we know.

Wave 7 (the first wave of 2025) consisted entirely of repacks.

Spin Changers

[edit]

The largest size class, the Spin Changers each include a human figurine that can interact with the larger robot, via a circular base or an accessory.

Cyber-Combiners

[edit]

These two-packs offer the first true action figures of main human characters Robby and Mo who can now combine with other Autobots like ye olde Powerlinx. They are compatible with above Warrior Class figures with the "Combine & Ride" gimmick. The Bumblebee/Mo set was also re-released in updated packaging in 2025.

Other Toys

[edit]

A redeco of the Cyberverse Optimus Battle Base Trailer, as well as a redeco/retool of the Warrior Class toy with a new, more show-accurate trailer the following year, were released. EarthSpark reintroduced a roleplay assortment with the foam-dart-firing, plastic-shiv-popping NERF Cyber-Sleeve Battle Blaster.

TakaraTomy EarthSpark toyline

[edit]

In a surprising departure from the brand synergy with Hasbro's lines shown since 2018, Takara Tomy's EarthSpark line is markedly different from Western offerings. Not only are most figures sporting improved, more show-accurate decoes, but they do not come in plastic-free packaging, marking a return to plastic trays, bubbles on cardbacks, and window boxes.

Spin Changer Series
Compared to Hasbro's releases, these Spin Changers come in boxes with a plastic window.

DX Series
Compared to Hasbro's boxed releases, the DX Series toys come on cardbacks with plastic bubbles like the days of old. However, the Mandroid "build-a-figure" parts are not included. This line includes both the Hasbro "Deluxe" molds and altered/enhanced versions of Hasbro "Warrior Class" molds to boot.

Supatto Change Series
"Supatto Change" (スパっとチェンジ, "Quick Change") is TakaraTomy's name for the 1-Step Flip Changers, which now also come packaged in plastic bubbles on cardbacks.

Notes

[edit]
  • EarthSpark is the first cartoon tie-in toyline to use the plastic-free packaging first introduced in War for Cybertron: Kingdom for every toy. Each size class has an open window except for the Tacticons, which use closed boxes. In the west, at least...
  • The deluxe class packaging features Autobot Script on the inner tray, reading "Earthspark".
