Just because the person adding the entry feels the show was "suffering" for American viewers does not make it fact. That entry will be deleted and should be, as it's entirely and only a matter of opinion and doesn't relate to the Energon storyline or toyline. -Bodycount

"Many fans found Energon an improvement over Armada in story and writing" at first, but the later part is debatible X-BoB58

Wait...

Why did "Maintenance script" delete everything on the page? The previous edit seemed like it restored the page from the virus crash, and then Maintenance script just erases it all. Was that a mistake? C.V. Reynolds 06:52, 20 March 2009 (EDT)

Episode list

I've pasted in the episode lists from the templates that were here before we started working on the wiki. However, I'm not sure on what basis the list is split into two seasons. I've left it split for now, but, does anybody have a justification for this split?

Why is there no entry or potential entry for "Distribution", aka "Special Dream Match" aka "The writers took a day off"?--Squidhead

Just wondering if these pages are going to get general Series Summaries/Overviews at some point? Fact is for a variety of reasons I havn't watched a TF toon regularly since the middle of Armada so I'd really love detailed summaries of Energon and Cybertron (and the end of Arm. to make it up here.

Well, yes, eventually. I think the problem is, though, MOST of us were utterly lost or disinterested with the Energon cartoon, so, well, even summarising is going to be tricky. Persoanlly, I can't even remember which epsiode is which... at least with Armada and cybertron there are "guides" available (Micron Legend Yearbook and the CN site)... Energon? eeg. --M Sipher 20:50, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

Add to that that there are quite a few episodes where it literally seemed like nothing happened. Such was the pacing of Energon.--MCRG 04:31, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

Hey we know that there are no DVDs nor Videos of Transformers Energon so lets all watch it on Youtube. Its smarter, cost free and its faster to know things.(Anti-Spammer 20:48, 31 October 2007 (UTC))

Negatives

Man, I have a list a mile wide of things that were wrong about the show in general. I've been resisting adding a sentence about how all vehicle modes were immune to gravity-- nay, all physics, allowing even Hot Shot to float through the air at his whim, negating any reason for differing vehicle modes. --ItsWalky 21:33, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

It's incredibly tempting to say "toss it in there". I mean, as it stands, the article makes it sound like the dub was the only thing wrong with the show, which is, not to put to fine a point on it, a phenomenal pile of steaming bullshit. Hell, the pacing apparently didn't even appeal to JAPAN, what with Galaxy Force at first pretending the previous shows didn't exist. --M Sipher 21:39, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I just watched a later ep on YouTube ("Improsoned Inferno" [sic!]). Snowcat and Demolishor just transform and drive off into the air. Everyone's animated exactly like their toy. I counted six instances of characters going "Uh?" or some variant thereof. Alpha-Q doesn't move his mouths at all when speaking. A red sun casts ordinary yellow-sun light. Dramatic battles begin and then suddenly cut away. It goes on and on! -- Repowers 22:09, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
Hey, remember when I said I was going to do Energon episode summaries? Yeah, I'm totally not now. It's certainly more watchable in Japanese - I'm generally not left staring at the screen going "What the fuck was that?", and I'm appreciating moments of character interaction now that they make sense - but 31 episodes in, I'm totally deprived of any desire to write about it. Well, I might do the undubbed episode, which I'm about to come up to... - Chris McFeely 23:33, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

  • pant* *huff* I think... my hate reserviors... have been emptied... it will take time before they refill... - Chris McFeely 00:33, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Reference sources

Okay, I usually don't' do this, but since Paramount as as much as said- "Man, Energon is so bad we're gonna skip it and just put out Cybertron on DVD...", here's a couple of the sources good for quick reference.

~2/3 of Energon is on Veoh for streaming
Most of Super Link (subbed) is ready for direct download

Buy the DVD's people. I do even though the gather dust on my shelf while I watch the much-more-convenient encodes. -Derik 03:29, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Question regarding featured characters: What are opinions on how Terrorcons and Mini-Cons should be handled?

  • For instance, Scorponok, while briefly conscipted into the Decepticon forces, was pretty explicitely not a Decepticon, neither at the beginning of the series, nor after Megatron tied him up and sent him into the energon grid as bait. Therefore, I've had him listed as a Terrorcon (or, "Other") at the beginning, a Decepticon after Megatron beat him and branded him, and then as a Terrorcon again after pretty clearly defecting.
  • The Mini-Cons, while working for the Autobots, are still a separate faction.--Shellspark 17:59, 26 March 2009 (EDT)

Do Energon fans exist?

Surely there must be some, statistically. There are THOUSANDS of Transfans: some must have enough tolerance for bad dubbing, poor animation, and incoherent scripting to find some kinda jewels beneath.

So should the article be made more balanced to reflect their concerns? If they exist? I say so only because at the moment the entire thing is a merciless leap at the series' jugular...
