- Hi, new user. I'd just like to ask you: please make your edit summaries slightly more descriptive. "Addition" tells me nothing I didn't know already. ---Blackout- 12:57, 28 November 2009 (EST)
- He-l-en, Blackout was commenting on the fact that, with each edit you made, the word "addition" appeared on the "recent changes" page. He thought you could be more descriptive, but this is not something that is actually necessary, so please ignore his request. --Monzo 13:25, 28 November 2009 (EST)
- Eh, he has a point. "Addition" doesn't tell us anything about what you've added. "Expanded summary", "added caption", or "added links", are all possibilities that actually give some idea of what changes you've made.
- That said, we write all our episode summaries to be written from an in-universe perspective, so statements like "The episode starts with" are not necessary (what else would the first sentence of the summary be describing, if not the start of the episode?) And we try to avoid verbal padding in general. -- Repowers 10:51, 29 November 2009 (EST)
Who removes my signs for the illustrations? And why?--He-l-en1959 05:11, 29 November 2009 (EST)
- The person removing your signs ("captions", to be more precise) is Detour. Technically, our editing policy states that we prefer new users to contribute to articles more before changing the image captions. It is possible that Detour simply did not see your previous contributions; speaking as an administrator, myself, I do not care whether or not the captions become changed. I will speak to Detour about the matter. --Monzo 05:25, 29 November 2009 (EST)
Oh!
Please, help me in this! I'm sure that my signs are no worse than these existing already!--He-l-en1959 05:31, 29 November 2009 (EST)
- He-l-en, from what I have seen, there are no problems with the ideas you have used in your image captions. However - and I do not mean to be rude - there is some peculiarity of language in the phrasing. I understand that English is not your first language, so this may be something that is difficult to avoid.
- Would it be acceptable for users more familiar with the English language to adjust your captions to match our idiom?
- Thank you for your understanding.
- (By the way, I am not sure what a "blank dance" is...) --Monzo 05:59, 29 November 2009 (EST)
- I agree. You are right, but I thought that my English is not so poor… What a pity… And as for "blank dance", I meant the dance when ladies invite gentlemen (for Shureshock is the only lady in the team…)--He-l-en1959 06:05, 29 November 2009 (EST)
- Ah, please, don't be discouraged. I'm sure there's much information about the Transformers series as presented in Russia that you could add to the wiki; for example, we are missing many names of characters from the Russian translation. We have Bumblebee's name ("Shershen"), but not Hot Shot's, and we're missing many more. Would you be able to provide this information? We would appreciate it.

- Talking about captions once more, there may be simple cultural differences at work... by "blank dance", I thought you meant that the Mini-Cons wanted to breakdance, which would have been an acceptable way to look at that picture.
- It may be best to focus on adding information until you become more accustomed to the environment. Thank you again for your understanding. --Monzo 06:39, 29 November 2009 (EST)
- I'll help you gladly--He-l-en1959 06:44, 29 November 2009 (EST)
With the international character names, the general format is an english spelling in bold letters first, then the Cyrillic letters and a translation in parentheses afterwards. Look at how it's done on Optimus Prime (Movie)'s page for a guideline. (and I am totally glad someone is trying to summarize Armada!) -hx 09:48, 29 November 2009 (EST)
- Looks almost perfect - you should add an english translation or approximation afterwards - Russian name: Оптимус Прайм ("Whatever it means"). If it's just "Optimus Prime," same as the english language, then just put "Optimus Prime." If Hot Shot's name (for example) translated into English as "Best Shooter" or what-have-you then you'd put Russian name: WHATEVER GOES HERE ("Best shooter"). Make sense? -hx 15:17, 29 November 2009 (EST)
