This article is about the SWAT Team Autobot from Energon. For the Mini-Con from Cybertron, see Checkpoint (Cybertron).
Checkpoint is an Autobot from the Energon portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.
Not Prowl. Just colored like him. And teamed with him.

Checkpoint makes up one half of the Autobot S.W.A.T. Team, partnered with Prowl. His job is to take the fight over energon directly to the Decepticons, crushing their strongholds and depots, a much more aggressive stance than the Autobots' normal tactics.

Fiction

Force of Habit

Checkpoint joined the crew of the scout ship Spanner looking for Cyber Planet Keys in the Delta Draconis region of space. What they uncovered was Combatron, the nearly abandoned "Apocalypse Planet." Checkpoint uncovered a Data-Con which explained the history of the wartorn planet. Designed as an armed garrison in anticipation of the inevitable arrival of Unicron, the Cybertronian soldiers stationed there fell apart after their general, King Atlas, mysteriously vanished. In-fighting broke out, and the planet descended into madness and death.

The Autobots made contact with the last surviving soldier, Whirl, and learned that a team of Decepticons had landed on the planet, hunting for the Combatron doomsday vault of immensely powerful weapons. Checkpoint's team, alongside Whirl and his Mini-Con allies, tried to intercept the Decepticons but were too late. A swarm of Decepticlones were unleashed upon the Autobots. Checkpoint got into a fight with Buzzsaw, the two of them trading Mini-Con augmented firepower as Checkpoint powerlinked with Thunderstick, but he ultimately went down after the sniper Hardtop blew the Mini-Con right off his arm.

The Autobots were held captive, briefly, until Whirl's Mini-Cons managed to take over the Decepticon shuttle, Upstart, and Armorhide returned to the Spanner to pilot the ship straight into the bunker being held by the Decepticons. As the weapons' arsenal exploded, Checkpoint and the rest of the Autobots made off in their captured shuttle, heading out into space to hook up with the rest of their fellow soldiers. Force of Habit

Toys

Energon

  • Autobots S.W.A.T. Team (Mega-class set, 2004)
    • Accessories: Missile launcher, flame-missile
Available only in a K-Mart exclusive two-pack with a S.W.A.T.-deco'ed Prowl, Checkpoint is a redeco of Energon Rodimus, transforming into a rocket-powered Cybertronic longnose truck cab. He can also form the top or bottom half of a larger robot mode, compatible with any Energon Combat- or Mega-class Autobot combiner robot. He comes with a large flame-cannon with spring-loaded "flame" missile.
This mold was also redecoed as BotCon 2009 Thunder Clash.

Attacktix

K-Mart is the savings place, punk.
  • Checkpoint (Booster, 2007)
    • Attacktix ID number: TF09
Part of the canceled second series of Attacktix Booster Packs, Checkpoint was to be (of course) a redeco of the series-one Attacktix Rodimus piece, which fires a standard Attacktix missile. A "Super Rare" 20-point "Specialist"-class figure, his Special Power "Capture" would have allowed the player to take control of a specific class of figure (ie. Warrior) for the remainder of the game... but which type we may never know.

Game over.
This Attacktix item has been canceled, with no current plans for release.
