Synopsis

At the Ocean City Command Hub, Optimus Prime becomes frustraited with the Omnicon's attempts to mine Energon in a city. So Hot Shot takes the four Omnicons to the Yukon, away from human civilization.

In the Yukon, Kicker and Ironhide await the arrival of Base Unit 1. Hot Shot and The Omnicons arrive and promptly make a mess of the situation, pushing Hot Shot to sarcastically suggest the Omnicons "Get lost"

An hour later, Kicker and Hot Shot trail the Omnicons, who, forty minutes earlier, have wondered into the town of Abyss. Suddenly an array of satallites dishes emerge from the ground around them. Skyblast quickly constructs his Energon lance. His attack triggers an electric pulse that knocks out the Omnicons, leaving them defenseless against Snowcat.

Ten minutes after Snowcat's trap went off, Arcee awakens to overhear Scorponok and Snowcat discuss plans to leech from the Autobot's Energon Grid. After the conversation ends, Snowcat mentions to Arcee that he intends to corrupt the programming of the Omnicons.

In a dark void, the Omnicons find themself lost, before Overrun appears to berate the four of them with flashbacks. Somehow this inspires the Omnicons to break free of Snowcat's harness and burst out of the room they were stored in, but before they engage Snowcat, he retreats into the snowwy Yukon wilderness where he has the advantage.

Five minutes later, three Omnicons appear to give themself up. When Snowcat approaches, they cleverly detonate an underground pocket of natural gas, overturning their opponent. Skyblast then swoops down and drops Snowcat right in fron of Hot Shot.

Back at Ocean City, Optimus Prime finishes up a conversation with Hot Shot, only to find himself face to face with the disembodied head - of Megatron!

  • Ocean City, a setting in the Energon segment of the Dreamwave Summer Special, has no pressence in the Multiplicity arc. However a similar city appeared in the Cybertron cartoon.
  • Op3, Optimus Prime's submarine drone, is visible outside of Ocean City.
  • It is never revealled if Snowcat is or isn't Cyclonus - who appeared in his original form in the first issue of Energon.
  • During the final page, when Optimus meets Megatron, a figure looking very similar to Scourge_(G1) is visible in the background.
  • Wavelengths page contains an article from the desk of David Cheung
  • instead of reader mail, the issue contains a page of reader-submitted artwork.
