Wings Universe
Powerflash began his military career as an infantry mech in the Autobot Guard. He served under Big Bang in the Advanced Observation Unit alongside Sentinel Major, Halonix Maximus, and Ranger. After the Battle of Beta 9, the AOU were incorporated into Magnum's experimental Autobot Elite Guard. Powerflash and his comrades were each given command positions in the Elite Guard, either overseeing field teams or as part of the upper brass. Sentinel Major's Wings of Honor profile
Powerflash was placed in charge of the 45th division, the Stealth Team. His detachment included Rumbler, a mechanic, his brother Sprocket, a pilot, and Tap-Out, a covert specialist. Instead of Elite Guard headquarters, they maintained a base of operations at a hangar in Detrona, presumably to assist them in keeping their missions covert. During a raid on the Decepticon fortress of Gygax, they caused setbacks in several of Deathsaurus's projects, including his research into combination technology. Bruticus's Wings of Honor profile
Powerflash enjoyed a friendly relationship with his squad, despite being a stickler for timing and protocol. Their next mission came after Delta Seeker of the Recon Team overheard Take-Off boasting in a tavern about his boss, the Warlord Gutcruncher, needing a ship to pursue a asteroid of infinite power. Powerflash orchestrated an undercover mission to make contact with Gutcruncher's crew and prevent them from succeeding. He was more than willing to bend a few rules to do it, too, as he forged Sentinel Major's authorization for the credits to buy a used ship and requested Rumbler get ahold of some electronic paint, which had been banned by the High Council.

After painting up himself and Tap-Out, Powerflash arranged to deal with the Decepticons as "Bad Boy", with his trusty associate Dealbreaker. They hornswoggled the incompetent Take-Off into accepting their ship, the Darklon, without any thorough checking. After Gutcruncher, Take-Off, and their two comrades were on-board, "Bad Boy" got the drop on Gutcruncher and slapped some stasis cuffs on his wrists to incapacitate him. Taking down the remaining three required some gunplay, but after Rumbler and Sprocket were released from their hiding spot in the cargo bay, the full Decepticon squad landed in the detention bay.
Powerflash and the Stealth Team continued on to the asteroid to secure it before any more Decepticons got the bright idea to go after its power source. Gutcruncher's crew managed to escape and capture the Stealth Team, however, before continuing on to harvest the energy source. Locating a magnificent set of glowing crystals, Gutcruncher had Powerflash and the others brought before them to witness his triumph. A power surge suddenly raced through the crystals, blasting all Autobots and Decepticons present with amber energy. Powerflash and the others quickly learned they had gained super-mechanical strength and power, but at the loss of their transforming ability. The Stealth Team managed to retake the Darklon and fled the asteroid before the volatile crystals caused any more damage.
The team reported for medical clearance to Rest-Q and Crosscut, and were informed that the radiation from the crystal was lingering in their systems, but they should regain their trans-modes if and when the radiation subsided. With another Decepticon Warlord in custody, the Elite Guard chalked up another win on their record. A Team Effort
When the Special Ops Team went rogue and became Deathsaurus's Combaticons, Powerflash and the Stealth Team were present to defend Elite Guard headquarters from the Decepticon attack. The Coming Storm: Part 5 Powerflash apparently fell with the rest of the defenders under Bruticus's mighty onslaught. The Coming Storm: Part 6

- As an Action Master, Powerflash is a non-transforming action figure. An original character, his body design has details of a fighter-jet mode, though what model is difficult to determine which (possibly an F-4 Phantom). He came with his partner-unit Road Rocket, who can become a backpack/battle-helmet for Powerflash. The duo were only available in the European markets.
