Arthur Shaw

Arthur Shaw is a human from the Rescue Bots cartoon portion of the Aligned continuity family.

Captain Arthur Shaw is in charge of the Griffin Rock ferry. He's a man willing to go down with his ship.

When the ferry was attacked by a shark submarine, Captain Shaw was warned by Chief Burns and able to steer the ship to avoid the shark's first pass. As it attacked again, Shaw ordered the passengers into the lifeboat, though Burns had to talk Shaw out of going down with his ship. Deep Trouble

Shaw was at the town hall when a ghost chased him and other people out onto an unstable fire escape. They were rescued by Heatwave. The Haunting of Griffin Rock

After seeing a strange creature circle the ferry, Shaw assumed it was a sea monster and notified Chief Burns. Though Burns was unable to spot the sea monster, it did mean Chase was on hand when Shaw almost ran the ferry into an unexpected iceberg. On a later voyage, Shaw tried to outrace the overloading Sub-Zero Expander, only to end up with the ferry trapped in the snap-frozen sea temporarily. Tip of the Iceberg

Shaw attended the dog show which ended with the tent burning down. Rescue Dog Shaw took Heatwave to the mainland, but on the return journey, was unable to speed the ferry up as they passed through an area strewn with wrecked boats. Changes When Mario and a container of presents fell overboard during a bad winter storm, Shaw called mayday, and the rescue team turned up in time to save Mario, though the container sank. The Riders of Midwinter Shaw and his passengers were forced to abandon ship when a right whale jumped onto the ferry, and were picked up by Heatwave. Odd Bot Out

Shaw regularly took people out on the ferry looking for the S.S. Phantom Voyager. Phantom of the Sea When the ferry's power was knocked out by a solar flare, Shaw was only able to get help as Cody and Salvage were patrolling at the dock and able to use a rope to pull the ferry to port. A New Hero

When Griffin Rock suddenly vanished, Captain Shaw ended up in the sea and had to be rescued by High Tide. Now and Then He was surprised when the island appeared in the sky and flew back to its usual spot. Today and Forever

Shaw was among the townsfolk abducted by the Velgrox, and was present when the Rescue Bots revealed their true natures. New Normal

Shaw attended the start of Mayor Luskey's re-election campaign and angrily demanded a town meeting when the event went horribly wrong. He and the rest of the townsfolk got their wish for an alternative candidate when Chase ran for mayor, only to regret it when the new mayor's rule resulted in Shaw and many others getting stuck in a traffic jam. Mayor May Not He was presumably on board the ferry when a giant CeCe Greene used it as a bath toy, but survived to later attend All Spark Day celebrations. All Spark Day He attended a Brash Ball game in the town's new Insta-adium which abruptly ended when the stadium deflated. Notes

• Shaw shares the same last name with actor Robert Shaw, who played Quint in the film Jaws. Given the multiple homages to the film included in "Deep Trouble", this probably isn't a coincidence.
