Crystal Killer Fish is a Beastformer from the Generation 1 continuity family.

A servant of the Three Wise Ones of ancient planet Beast, Crystal Killer Fish (クリスタルキラーフィッシュ Kurisutaru Kirā Fisshu) ruled the land that would become Lennonia as its Emperor. Despite his name, he is a beast of peace, working with all his heart to make the planet a paradise for all who live there.

He has long since abdicated his throne, and has been somewhat reclusive since. Having survived to the present day, "Crys" is not exactly a warrior in his prime. Physically, he's outmatched by most any of the modern Beastformer fighters. But few, if any, can match his psychic powers. His crystalline body and Killer Anchor (キラーアンカー Kirā Ankā) MVP Weapon can absorb light, focusing and releasing it as a devastating beam that can cut through virtually anything in its path.

In 2038, the then-peaceful Beast was invaded by Galvatron II's Decepticons. Crystal Killer Fish was part of the joint Beastformer-Laser Beast alliance that fought against the invaders. Released in the post-Transformers sequel series of Beastformers, Crystal Killer Fish is a colorless-clear, paint-less version of the Killer Fish toy, a small soft-plastic figure of an anthropomorphic fish with robotic armor. The Battle Emblem on his chest reveals one of three symbols when warmed up; Fire, Water or Wood.

Despite what the box-art shows, his "Killer Anchor" weapon is still the normal dull silver of the regular toy, probably due to being gang-molded with the other Beastformer weapons of that color.

He was commonly available as part of the "Perfect 6-Piece Set" (パーフェクト6体セット Pāfekuto 6 Tai Setto, the English text on the packaging renders it as "Beastformer 6 Animals Set") multi-pack. Five of the six slots in this box set will always have Crystal Killer Fish, plus the "common" Beastformers Baboon, Cobrander, Eagle Killer, and Shield Dragon. The sixth would be either Demonkey or Little Serow, both of whom were also only available in this set, meaning you'd need to buy two for a complete collection. Thankfully, a panel on the bottom-right corner of the box back tells the buyer which six figures are in that set, so at least it's not blind luck this time.

Crystal Killer Fish was also available as a prizes in "punch-box" giveaways in various stores. Basically, kids would punch through a paper front on a multi-compartment box, each containing a random Beastformers toy prize.

The first promo had 24 spaces, two of which which were filled with the normal colorless-clear Crystal Killer Fish from the above set, a single grand-prize exclusive-colors red Battle Drill with Kingbuster, and then 21 random standard Beastformers boxed toys, with a small baggie of assorted Beastformers weapons taped to the top of their boxes.

The second punch-box promo had two exclusive Crystal Killer Fish with mottled-brownish stripes, every one being a unique pattern due to the [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}water transfer printing|{{#if:||water transfer printing}}]] method used for the change. The other prizes included a single different exclusive Battle Drill (this time in blue) with Kingbuster, and 21 baggies of random Beastformers weapons, kind of a downgrade from the first one.

Naturally, the striped Killer Fish goes for quite a lot on the secondary market (as do both the Battle Drills).

Notes

• For a very long time, it was simply assumed that Crystal Killer Fish was just a new version of the original Killer Fish character, like the "Ghost Alligatron" toy. But the toy's cardback bio is pretty dang incompatible with normal Killer Fish's bios. "Rebellion on Planet Beast" showed the Killer Fish as a "species" of generic Beasts, so there's at least some precedent for there being more than one of this kind of guy.
• Crystal Killer Fish's pack-in bio card lacks an ID number, instead having gentei (限定), meaning "exclusive" or "limited edition", in its place.
• There is no story attached to the brown-striped Crystal Killer Fish; this is the only Beastformers figure without any kind of explanation behind it.
