Crystal satellite

The crystal satellite is a large rocket the Decepticons built in the jungles of Mato Grosso, with on top of it an impressive diamond. The diamond was made by the Decepticons in the Kalahari Desert by compressing the carbon atoms of coal and humans.

[edit]The crystal satellite was launched into orbit from its launch complex in Mato Grosso, but not before the Autobots discovered it. Still, the Autobots were too slow to prevent the launch and Skyfire was too slow to blast the satellite out of the sky before it escaped the atmosphere and the air guardian's reach. With the Autobots focused on the satellite, the Decepticons blew up the launch complex and retreated to their base from where they controlled ad monitored the rest of the satellite's mission.
The crystal satellite was fixed in position above the Rocky Mountains, which Megatron wanted to melt using the satellite's diamond as a lens to amplify the heat of the Sun's rays. In doing so, he would obtain all the oil that was stashed within the Rockies, which he needed to fuel his army. The Autobots realized this purpose of the satellite too late, forcing them to take desperate measures. Ratchet outfitted Skyfire with extra tanks so he could make the trip to the satellite to destroy it. However, he would not have enough power to return to Earth safely and thus burn to death upon re-entry. Double however, he still didn't have enough to reach the satellite so much as scratch it, making his death for naught.
Of course, then Optimus Prime suggested a second plan that wouldn't result in any deaths. He had Ratchet construct a square-mile sheet of polished metal, which he and the other Autobots brought into position between the crystal satellite and the Rocky Mountains. The satellite's heat beam was bounced back to the satellite, obliterating it. Megatron was not happy about that. Satellite of Doom
