Fomo

Fomo is a member of the Techie Team and Gamer Geeks from BotBots.
I didn't want to lose the lens cap, so I put it on right before we started filming!

Fomo loves being the center of attention. Sometimes, it's through performing daredevil feats. Others, it's by being an "influencer", recording and editing the action that's sure to get their fellow BotBots' energon pumping through thrills or bouts of raucous laughter. This Bot never stops seeking the next hit video to share with everyone!

When the energon struck the mall, it brought Fomo to life from a digital camera in the electronics store. Lone Bot and Carb. As part of the Gamer Geeks squad, Fomo and his squadmates hijacked the mall's security systems every night to keep the little bots' shenanigans a secret from the humans. When Burgertron and the Lost Bots accidentally revealed the BotBots' existence to the mall's night security guard Dave, almost every Bot in the mall shunned them. Mall Than Meets the Eye

Fomo, however, was begrudgingly willing to work with the Lost Bots to make some "BotVids"... not because he liked them in any capacity or cared about improving their reputations, but because his influencer lifestyle meant that he needed a constant flow of content to feed to the other Bots, and he had to get it somewhere. He recorded and edited each of the Lost Bots' vids to their specifications, and each one stunk. He was not shy in letting them all know it too. When Burgertron discovered that Dave had set up (well, tried to set up) a series of traps to capture the BotBots, he convinced Fomo to record them braving and dismantling the traps... well, after they rebuilt the traps to actual working order. With the traps now set and Fomo recording, the Lost Bots dismantled the affair with incredible style and grace, even working in evading Dave at the last second. Fomo told them he'd just recorded the best BotVid ever, and soon the Lost Bots rushed to see the results: not them foiling the traps, but instead Sprinkleberry D'uhnut slipping on some oil Dave had spilled near the traps, repeated over and over set to goofy music. And the other BotBots' peals of laughter seemed to prove his choice of video right. Womp-womp! (Never) Be Yourself

When the Hunger Hubs put on a performance of I, Cheeseburger, Fomo attended with a front row view. He enjoyed himself until a second cheeseburger joined the performance causing the crowd wondering what was going on. Once the rogue burger was dealt with, he joined in with all the other gathered BotBots to cheer Brock O'Lonely's performance. I, Cheeseburger After Dave accidentally caught the Lost Bots in a photo while using the MallFace app on his phone, Burgertron imagined Fomo as one of the BotBots to toss them into the fiery dumpster from which none return for exposing them. Phoning It In When strange happenings occur in the mall, Fomo and Game Over investigated a frayed electrical cable. For some reason he decided to touch it and got a shock strong enough to make him transform in surprise. Live and Let LARP

During the Ruckus Rally, Fomo acted as emcee, operating a drone to live feed the footage for all to see. He also provided snarky colored commentary, usually at the expense of the Lost Bots. After the race ended he declared the Hunger Hubs the winner of the race as the Racer-Roni's registration was never swapped over to the Lost Bots. Ignoring Burgertron's protests, Fomo told the Lost Bot that since it was a rule in the bylaws they should all go bye-bye. The Ruckus Rally After Burgertron was found not guilty of donutcide, Fomo joined the conga line that formed during the mall wide post court dance party. Crime and Bun-ishment Later Fomo filmed Dave as he deactivated the security bots rampaging in the mall. He then emailed the video anonymously to Randall, who rehired Dave as the mall night guard. Shopping Brawl

Fomo attended the record breaking fun party put on by Spud Muffin, again scoring a front row seat. After the "Gamesmaster" appeared and announced the start of the Goldrush Games, Fomo entered with the other Gamer Geeks. Participating in the grip strength hanging challenge, Fomo couldn't hold on and plummeted like a downvoted video. He later swam in the first leg of the dumpster dive relay race. The Goldrush Games - Part the First With the Gamer Geeks failing to qualify to advance, Fomo watched the Hunger Hubs and Lost Bots compete running an obstacle course in the final event of the games. After Spud Muffin scheme to baish the Lost Bots was revealed, an angry Fomo declared he had rigged the games and joined the angry mob that formed. Following Spud's banishment to the Dark Side of the Mall, Fomo joined in the celebration recognizing the Lost Bots as an official squad. The Goldrush Games - Part the Second

Notes

[edit]
Cartoon Fomo's camera mode.
  • Fomo's name comes from an acronym that stands for "Fear Of Missing Out". It also rhymes with GoPro, a popular brand of sports camera.
  • Fomo's static art is slightly mirrored compared to their toy. This causes the square around their lens eye to be put on the opposite side, yet their buttons and the camera viewport arm is still on the proper side as their toy.
    • Their cartoon appearance is based off the static art, with the lens eye on the same side. Additionally the red and green buttons on their chest match the stock arts horizontal lay out as opposed vertical on the toy.
  • Like several characters in the BotBots cartoon, Fomo's gender is different from the toy's original bio from Hasbro's website. In Fomo's case, the original toy bio uses feminine pronouns, while the cartoon depicts the character as male.
  • The cartoon also has him turn into a standard digital camera, rather than the more elaborate sports camera of the toy.
