Rhisling

Not so much audible sharpness as deafening sharpness.

Rhisling is the signature blade of the ancient demigod Vector Prime, forged long ago from ethereal supermatter. Its edge is so fine that it is able to slice through the fabric of reality itself, allowing its wielder to open up dimension gates. One capable of using Rhisling to its full potential is able to alter time itself.<ref>Vector Prime's profile</ref>

Rhisling was owned by Vector Prime. Fallen Without the sword, Vector Prime could not teleport. When Rhisling became buried under rubble, Vector Prime was trapped until Wing Saber rescued him. Starscream When the Autobots made their way to Gigantion, Vector Prime attempted to teleport directly to the Cyber Planet Key only to discover that even Rhisling had fallen victim to the planet's anti-teleportation defences. After Vector Prime's death, his Spark communed with Optimus Prime and gave the sword to him, albeit increasing its size, weight and power immensely. Optimus wielded Rhisling for the remainder of his battle with Galvatron, using it to impale his longtime foe, killing him and at last ending their conflict. The sword then disappeared soon after Galvatron's body did, Unfinished going back to its master in the afterlife and being used by Vector Prime's spirit in further battle against that of Galvatron. Ask Vector Prime

[edit]

Rhisling was originally a version of the Cyber Caliber, wielded by Mogahn the Mass. When Vector Prime and his Time Warriors faced off against the creature, Vector Prime, after regaining his memories as one of the Thirteen, took the sword from Mogahn and reformatted it using the power given to him by Amalgamous Prime into a sword that was able to slice through time. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/07/12 Note, however, that Vector Prime's recounting of this incident was spotty due to the oncoming Shroud, so how exactly it transpired is uncertain.

Rhisling apparently conforms to the spark of its user; Vector Prime theorized that if his brother Alchemist Prime wielded the sword, the weapon would take on properties based on transmutation while losing its power to manipulate time. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/09/20

In Aurex 1006.0 Beta, Optimus Prime also vanquished Megatron with Rhisling. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/09/19

TransTech

In his new, non-singular history, the Vector Prime of Nexus 208.0 Epsilon possessed Rhisling in the present day but had not called it such in a long time. He hoped that he would not need it in his mission to Nebulos. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/11/09

Cybertron

[edit]
  • Vector Prime (Voyager Class, 2005)
    • Japanese ID number: GC-03
Cybertron Vector Prime comes with a sword accessory, though it is not named as Rhisling on attached material. The sword is cast entirely in translucent blue plastic, though on the Hasbro release it is flexible plastic for safety reasons; the Takara release is cast in more firm plastic. When Vector Prime is in spaceship mode, the sword is stored in the side of the nosecone, with the guard sticking out to form a small stabilizer fin. An immobile matching fin is sculpted on the other side of the nosecone to maintain symmetry.
This sword was redecoed into BotCon 2007 Alpha Trion's sword.

  • Starscream vs. Vector Prime (Multi-pack, 2005)
    • Cyber Key Code: v38g
Vector Prime's sword also comes in a Toys"R"Us exclusive set along with Vector Prime (duh) and a new-deco version of the Voyager-class Starscream mold. This version of the sword (and Vector) is identical to the normal Hasbro release.

  • Galaxy Force Vector Prime (Voyager, 2006)
    • Cyber Key Code: vz74
Not to be confused with the Galaxy Force release of Vector Prime, Hasbro's "Galaxy Force Vector Prime" is a matte gold and clear-orange redeco of Vector Prime released in the eighth and final wave of Cybertron Voyagers, the only new toy in that assortment. The packaging photography shows the prototype as considerably more blinged out than the rather yellowish matte gold plastic actually used for the production run. His sword is cast in bright orange.

Universe (2008)

[edit]
  • Vector Prime with Mini-Con Safeguard! (Voyager, 2009)
    • Series: Cybertron Series
Vector Prime was re-released in the fourth wave of the 2008 Universe series Voyagers, redecoed in black, brown, and blue with his sword cast in opaque black plastic. Notably, this is the only version of his sword to receive a paint application, namely a silver blade.

Legacy

[edit]
  • Vector Prime (Voyager, 2024)
Legacy United "Cybertron Universe" Vector Prime comes with a new version of his sword. Like with the original Cybertron Vector Prime figure, the sword's blade is cast in translucent blue plastic. Unlike that figure, however, the hilt of the sword is a separate piece of harder maroon colored plastic that is pinned to the blade, possibly to avoid the breakage that might ensue from making the sword a single piece of translucent blue plastic. This gives the hilt the unusual trait of being able to hinge at a complete 90 degree angle from the blade. The sword features a 5 mm peg on the blade just under the hilt, allowing it to peg into a port on Vector Prime's backpack for storage in robot mode. In spaceship mode, said peg allows the sword to be stored under one of the hinges connecting the wings to the vehicle. Additionally, should one wish, the Cyber Key included with Vector Prime can be plugged into the peg to create a combined weapon.
