As part of what can only be assumed as a "clear shelves/clear warehouses" initiative, in late December 2010 Hasbro began their "Supercharge Your Holidays" promotion. By purchasing $20 or more worth of Hasbro toys or games (both normal retail and online orders qualified) between December 26 2010 and January 31 2011, filling out your order form and mailing it with the relevant receipts by February 15 2011, you would later receive free toys or games in the mail from many of their top brands. Spiff, huh?

The order form called for picking first, second and third choices from a large list of "sets" from various brands (the backups being in case they ran out of your first/second choices). The Transformers-specific sets included:

The specific contents of those sets were randomized. Hasbro imposed an upper limit of five orders per household. Packages started arriving in mid-to-late March.

Despite the Vs packs not being listed as part of the promo, some people reported getting this in place of the single-packed Speed Stars toy. Freaky, huh?
