Woo! First time I've gotten a question in!--RosicrucianTalk 02:49, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
Airazor
[edit]So, Universe Airazor is a separate character from Slingshot or what? —Interrobang 02:52, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
- Seems they're saying it's the same situation as Octane/Tankor.--RosicrucianTalk 02:57, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
In this circumstance Slingshot was no longer available to use. Airazor is a 'male' character that was designed in memorium of Slingshot.
- Looks like "Airazor is a new male charater" to me. Am I the only one thinks the answer is vague or even doesn't answer the question at all?Ooops, I misread the Q3, thank for notice. (But I still want to mention this.) --TX55TALK 03:16, 22 October 2009 (EDT) The only thing we can learn for sure from the answer is "Slingshot was no longer available to use". --TX55TALK 03:01, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
- The question didn't ask whether they were the same character, or if it was intended to it was badly phrased. The question seems to only ask if this character is male or female.--RosicrucianTalk 03:11, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
- Asking Hasbro questions is really like making a wish from a genie in a bottle. You have to be insanely precise with your question, make sure your question actually asks what you want to know, and covers all the aspects you want answers to, while at the same time making the question easy enough to understand.--Nevermore 03:49, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
- The question effectively assumes that Airazor is a different character to Slingshot, and Hasbro plays along, not bothering to correct this apparent misconception and even saying Airazor was designed "in memorium" [sic] of Slingshot. Either we have a Q&A dude who's not good at wording his response or Airazor is a new character made in homage to, and to cover up the absence of, Slingshot. —Interrobang 03:56, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
- That reads as "New male character, no relation to the BW character, not Slingshot." It furthermore implies that Slingshot is somehow DEAD in whatever universe this set exists in (perhaps during the war against the Cybertronian Empire, he was killed by a mysterious wasting disease.) Hooper_X 08:41, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
- I kinda doubt Hasbro really meant to imply all that about who this is, but if you want to dig for meaning in what they said and how they happened to phrase it, yeah you can definately pull out that meaning. Which I guess is better than leaving him a total cifer that no one's ever gonna spotlight or give any story to, which is how he stands if we don't over-read Hasbro. --76.28.72.27 08:56, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
- Okay-- the toy was re-packaged into the ROTF line out of Universe, so let's i9gnpre the ROTF line for the moment.
- Given the Hasbro dude specifically mentioned how they wrestle with this issue when it comes up (read: "what approach do we take?") and that he says Airrazor is a seperate character... and that Universe is Classicsverse (or at least this set should be) I think his "in memorium" comment should be taken at face value. I would re-parse his statement as "When naming conflicts come up, we struggle with what approach to take. In this case, Airrazor is a new male character who looks like Slingshot. [Since Slingshot existed and was an Aerialbot at an earlier point in this continuity] we are saying Airrazor has replaced the deceased Slingshot on the team."
- Though the linguistic gestures are weak and poorly formed-- these do seem to be the points he's trying to get across. The rather odd phrasing doesn't make sense any other way. -Derik 09:10, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
- I agree, although I would leave it as a "note" at the end of Slingshot and Airazor's respective articles and point out the inherent vagueness of the statement. In fact, I kind of already did this for Slingshot. (Do we have a (sic) shorthand? We need one for that statement.) Hooper_X 09:19, 22 October 2009 (EDT)

A silly notion perhaps, but is it at all possible that "in memorium" refers to the name "Slingshot" and not the character? It's a bit strange to say a toy was designed in honor of a dead character. -Crockalley 15:39, 24 October 2009 (EDT)
- That's what I think. I don't think Universe Airazor should get his own page. They were talking about the name, not the dude. --ItsWalky 16:10, 24 October 2009 (EDT)
The red bulldozer might not be "Rampage"?
[edit]How cool is that? I hope it's Skipjack. - Starfield 10:38, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
- Where are you getting that? That's pretty much the opposite of what they said!--RosicrucianTalk 10:56, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
- "First, we do want to confirm that Rampage is in fact the red bulldozer." I admit the rest of the answer is vague, but I took it to mean the red bulldozer toy might have a different name. - Starfield 11:00, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
