Is it actually called Mission City, or is it just a military codename?--Carrion 20:21, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

I've been wondering that myself- I was under the impression that the movie was largely taking place in and around L.A., aside from that one use of the name "Mission City".--TVsGrady 21:08, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
It's actually Mission City, and referred to as such. It's named "mission" in the sense of the old Catholic missions in the Western US.--Rosicrucian 21:07, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Michael Bay gets the finger?

[edit]
The two metal titans smashed into the street, scattering still more panicked humans, one of whom got himself flicked aside by Megatron.

I was under the impression that this was a misconception. The DVD extras show Michael Bay and an anonymous female being filmed as passengers in a car that gets picked up and thrown, but the scene didn't make the final cut. From what I've gathered, this cut/unfinished scene seems to get conflated with the Megatron finger-flick scene. Is there any official statement saying that Bay is the guy that Megatron splats? -- Repowers 23:43, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

I'm sure this was discussed elsewhere in the Wiki, but darned if I can recall when/where. From what I recall, though, as part of the DVD commentary, Bay identifies the flicked human as himself.--Apcog 23:58, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
That would be here. And still no consensus. -- Repowers 00:10, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
I thought no further comment was made because that last entry satisfied everyone. So much for that, obviously. One or more of us will just have to put check the commentary track for that scene on the DVD and judge his tone as serious or not, I suppose.--Apcog 01:37, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
I clarified the trivia note to say that he claims this, but noted it may have just been a CGI puppet made in his image. Sounds abit like him when he's flicked, too. Also noted the possible cameo replaces the DVD easter egg cameo in the SUV. --FFN 09:56, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Mason City

Adding to the litany of bizare re-locations of this battle... "What Effing Happened to Mason City"

Did this short ever come out? -Derik 03:15, 15 April 2009 (EDT)

Brawl

[edit]

I changed all use of the name Devestator to Brawl, seeing as there is now a Devestator in ROTF and he is reffered to as Brawl everywhere else. Drayco90 18:31, 18 July 2009 (EDT)

Los Angeles

[edit]

In the movie, Fassbinder and Sharksy talk about how alien robots were seen in L.A. in 2007. It's assumed that this is referring to the events of Mission City. However, when the Fallen makes his demand for Sam Witwicky, the Decepticons show his drivers license, which states his home town to be Los Angeles. Is it possible that Sharksy and Fassbinder were referring to the Autobots landing? -- SFH 01:33, 15 January 2010 (EST)

Well, considering much of the architecture seen from the aerial shots is from Downtown Los Angeles... And Jazz trashed Dodger Stadium on his landing... :3 *will take any excuse go all around LA for photos of the actual scenes filmed at*
Speaking in-universe, I think it's more of them referring to the Mission City incident than the Autobots landing. --Lonegamer78 01:49, 15 January 2010 (EST)

Uh...

[edit]

Why do we have a ridiculously long and detailed synopsis of everything everybody did in Mission City? —Interrobang 04:03, 6 December 2011 (EST)
