Buster Optimus Prime?

[edit]

Where did you get all that info? Any officially released pictures? Or are you simply going off stolen Chinese toys? Gearshift 13:29, 17 July 2009 (EDT)

He has appeared at the Tokyo toy show.--RosicrucianTalk 13:41, 17 July 2009 (EDT)
If you've seen me going around telling people off on this wiki, you should know I don't add info from unofficial toy leaks ;) They had Buster Optimus Prime on display at the Tokyo Toy Show. Two leader Primes with new parts, all painted up, and unlike Hasbro, what you see is usually what you get with TakaraTomy.--FFN 13:43, 17 July 2009 (EDT)
Ooooh, nice. I don't do Takara, though. Except once, with Universe Hound. Besides, I prefer Faceplated. But I'm sorry for accusing you. :/ Gearshift 13:49, 17 July 2009 (EDT)
No worries :P Thread's been deleted, it seems. --FFN 13:50, 17 July 2009 (EDT)

ROTF Leader Voice Chip

[edit]

My UK bought one says "I am Optimus Prime".

ROTF Power Up Prime

[edit]

Was the Voyager Class Powered Up Optimus Prime cancelled or is it still on hold? because on the Optimus Prime page, it says it was cancelled, but in the Jetfire page, it says it hasn't been released yet

Dual Model Kit

[edit]

Should the information of Dual Model Kit be added? Or it should be waited until the prototype comes out? --TX55TALK 10:23, 23 February 2011 (EST)

DOTM Voyager Takara redeco

[edit]

I saw some stock images of a redeco iof DOTM Voyager Prime with new parts for a non-powered-up truck mode: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/attach/4/0/5/9/7/untitled_1298551815.png --TOM 15:46, 5 March 2011 (EST)

Mini Optimus Prime

[edit]

The one that came with Starosphere? I located his page on TFU.info, and this link is where it is: More information on Optimus Prime at TFU.info

ARRRGH!/ROTF Optimus Prime/Jetfire voyager class combo

[edit]

There are too many loose ends for the subjects!!! This ends HERE!/O.P. article reads it's been cancelled but Jetfire's article it's upcoming-- no wait, it's all right! ... I think.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.19.14.41 (talkcontribs){{#if:| {{{2}}}|}}.

Stealth Force Optimus Prime

[edit]

The box depicts more weapons than the figure actually has, including a missile rack above the windscreen, missiles above the rear wheels and an opening panel on the large fuel tanks. Also it depicts the headlights being attached to the grill. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 188.28.194.113 (talkcontribs){{#if:| {{{2}}}|}}.

Battle Blades Prime's well, blades.

[edit]

Are they really removable? Because it says that in the accessories list, but the swords sure seem like they're just made of soft plastic and aren't really meant to be detached. TheMZone 15:01, 21 July 2011 (EDT)

They are, entirely BECAUSE the're soft plastic. They're held on by a mushroom joint, making them fairly easy to pop on and off. However, they can deform if you do it too much. Personally, I'd exercise caution. --King Starscream 13:00, 7 August 2011 (EDT)

Revoltech and Robot Replicas

[edit]

So, why is Robot Replicas under toys, but Revoltech is under merhandise? Item42 02:33, 23 August 2011 (EDT)

My guess is it's because Revoltech is made by Kaiyodo, a third-party company, unrelated to Hasbro or Takara/Tomy -- Semysane 03:10, 23 August 2011 (EDT)
But, the merchandise page also covers HasTak merch as well as licensed third-party products! Item42 03:51, 23 August 2011 (EDT)

Ultimate Optimus Prime (MechTech Ultimate, 2012)

[edit]

Just come back from a store and saw the pre-order information of this. --TX55TALK 22:32, 12 October 2011 (EDT)

Aw, what the hell. TheMZone 23:25, 13 October 2011 (EDT)

You could add to the statement that he is billed as the largest Optimus toy that he actually is the largest Optimus toy. I checked and he stands taller than any of them - even Armada Jetfire/Prime - when measured from the top of the head. Of course, if you include the wings, he becomes a contender for Fortress Maximus' title.

Striker Optimus

[edit]

In the DOTM Striker Optimus section it says that it "retains Buster Optimus Prime's electronics" but actually uses the HFTD Leader Optimus' Voice. I'm not really sure what Buster Optimus Prime said when activating his voice feature, but I strictly remember the HFTD Optimus saying the same thing as my Striker Optimus, which is "We must stop the Decepticons!"

Movie Trilogy Optimus

[edit]

What's the status on this one? It looks like it's going to be an American release of Chronicles Optimus without the G1 toy included. Spotted by TFU at the Harbro Toy Fair. Has it actually been announced as a release, or just shown off without any indication? --King Starscream 17:09, 20 February 2012 (EST)

It's out. --Monzo 22:26, 20 February 2012 (EST)
Hasbro cheapened out, there's no gun included, just places for them. Can someone compare this release to the Chronicles release? I suspect either a retool, or an aborted feature; the center deckplate is designed to be removed and flipped over, and features an odd 4-directional tooling that carries over onto the top of the plating. Hida Atarasi 20:29, 26 February 2012 (EST)
Got a hold on one myself. The instructions don't mention the piece moving, and I couldn't get mine to budge. I'll be taking a screwdriver to it tonight to find out why. For now let's say it's been retooled not to work. I also noticed the front section looks like a swivel of some kind and the back one looks like it should tilt, but neither one does. I'll also be testing the trailer with various other Primes I have to see if the trailer is usable with them. --King Starscream 13:20, 9 March 2012 (EST)
Looks like the center piece has squared-off pegs the length of the groove underneath. And the trailer works with Prime Voyager Prime (RiD version). So well in fact it seems intentional. --King Starscream 18:24, 9 March 2012 (EST)

Amazon Exclusive Jetwing Optimus Prime

[edit]

Is the toy really a redeco? The changes seem too minor to be one, it really looks more like a repaint other than a redeco.

Technically, a redeco is ANY change in color layout. A repaint, in this case, being a redeco that only effects the paint. We use redeco more commonly on this wiki because more often than not there are changes to the plastic as well as the paint.
But to answer your question, yes, there are some parts that were recast. The big guns, for one, were cast in red instead of grey, and some of the grey is a lighter shade than the original, Japanese-exclusive version of the mold. --King Starscream 16:11, 9 September 2013 (EDT)

Movie Trilogy Series

[edit]

The phrasing "Like the Chronicle release, it comes with a trailer" makes it unclear whether this is the same trailer as the one Chronicle Prime came with. Did both Chronicle and Trilogy Prime come with a trailer, or do they come with the same trailer, sculpt-wise?--Nevermore 21:46, 18 November 2012 (EST)

Gift Car Optimus

Where is this thing listed as I see it neither the toys nor the merchandise and there's a new one coming out apparently--BlackStarscream (talk) 15:35, 9 June 2014 (EDT)

Breakout battle Optimus Prime

[edit]

It says the Breakout set is exclusive to TRU in Canada and the US, but it never actually got sold in the US right?--BlackStarscream (talk) 18:30, 4 May 2015 (EDT)

Correct. There was never any official release to US-based retailers, for whatever reason. -LV (talk) 21:11, 4 May 2015 (EDT)

Evasion mode Optimus Prime

[edit]

The description for Evasion Mode Optimus Prime says that his rifle "can be stored under either of Optimus' shoulders." However, I gave my Optimus a look, and I see no evidence of any such feature. Is this an erroneous claim that needs to be removed? Or have I just missed something? -Foffy the Sheep (talk) 22:19, 24 December 2015 (EST)

The Last Knight figures

[edit]

Right now that section is a big mess. Masterpiece Optimus was listed, the Voyager doesnt even appear and the Takara 'best of' Evasion Mode repaint is listed as the actual TLK Voyager. This last one is a bit tricky, should be with its own toyline section, no? I mean, i cant see any store where this one is listed as a part of TLK toyline.

Tessho Genda voice for Leader Class Movie The Best toy

[edit]

It's probably worth noting that Tessho Genda recorded multiple Japanese voice lines for the Movie The Best version of Leader Prime (making it the first version of the mold to have more than one phrase).--Samus Aran (talk) 16:47, 24 June 2017 (EDT)

evasion voyager optimus prime

[edit]

has anyone actually confirmed that evasion voyager optimus prime's shotgun is able to store on his shoulder in robot mode? Optimusprimerotfrocks (talk) 02:29, 28 January 2019 (EST)

I did. But it never works. FigureGunplaFan (talk) 06:25, 28 January 2019 (EST)
i didnt think it would work but thank you FigureGunplaFan Optimusprimerotfrocks (talk) 18:47, 28 January 2019 (EST)

MechTech trailer

[edit]

I think it's time we slowed down a bit on the MechTech trailer. Most of the mentions of it are "this version of Optimus can't pull it due to the hitch being in the wrong place." That trailer was released in 2011. It's mentioned in the Studio Series Bumblebee Optimus section, for a toy that came out 8 years later. I think it should be limited to toys that came out around the same time and ones that are compatible, without the far more numerous mentions of which ones are not. I understand it was a big deal being the first movie Optimus trailer and really the first Optimus with a trailer at all since, what, Energon? I was hyped for it too. But it doesn't seem like it's particularly relevant anymore. --King Starscream (talk) 11:56, 2 October 2020 (EDT)

This page is desperately in need of splitting.

[edit]

Right now this page ranks as sixth longest page on the wiki, and it is surprising that loading all the images does not crash my browser. Something has to give. Where would be an adequate point to partition Optimus toys? Unfortunately, I think using the 2018 Bumblebee movie may be insufficient to trim down the first page of toys to a manageable user experience. S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 47 (talk) 07:25, 16 June 2022 (EDT)

I think we could split everything pre-Age of Extinction into a separate "Original trilogy toys" page. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 16:23, 24 June 2022 (EDT)
That seems like a workable fit. S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 47 (talk) 13:58, 26 June 2022 (EDT)

So this discussion has been revived over at "Talk:Bumblebee (Movie)/toys#This page is desperately in need of splitting." I feel that only two partitions of Bayverse Optimus Prime's toys is insufficient to make the load more manageable for everyone's browsers, and three are necessary: in increments of 2007-2013, 2014-2017, and 2018-onward. S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 47 (talk) 14:58, 9 March 2023 (EST)

Where do we put this?

[edit]

https://twitter.com/thepr1me1nat0r/status/1640767745544388625?t=PtKfzh0gHOX02syUlVKvlQ&s=19 Poliwag06 (talk) 20:54, 28 March 2023 (EDT)

I know it sounds in poor taste given the situation presented in those tweets, but with licensed merch like that we usually use the name of the company that made it as the header of the section. So in this case it would be "Forever Clever" and would be listed in the /merchandise page, not here in /toys. Fritz (talk) 21:34, 28 March 2023 (EDT)

Unintended feature?

[edit]

So apparently ss38 is compatible with ss86 hot rods matrix. I saw a pic in a discord server https://discord.com/channels/549531076175986709/549531240823390209/1122426612206555136 And it seems to work by just splitting the chest windows in robot mode.
