The Revolutionaries are a team from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Earth's Greatest Heroes of Them All

Thrown together by circumstance, the Revolutionaries are an unlikely band of heroes: a British superspy, a G.I. Joe, a Titan Master, and the oldest Transformer in the universe. But despite their differences, they've become a tight-knit team, proving a scourge to supervillains the world over as they investigate Earth's secret history with the artifact known as the Talisman!

Although they had, for the most part, already met prior to or during the "Revolution event", the Revolutionaries first came together as a team in the following weeks. Garrison Blackrock, seeking to investigate his murky past as a servant of Onyx Prime, tracked down an ancient artifact known as the Talisman in a bunker beneath Verenya, Schleteva, but inadvertently activated the device, unleashing energies which mutated the city's inhabitants into strange monsters. This crisis quickly drew the attention of the Action Man Programme, G.I. Joe, and the Solstar Knight Rom. Although a skirmish soon broke out in the bunker between Blackrock and A.M.P.'s Ian Noble, G.I. Joe's Mayday, having met both men previously, was able to calm things down... just in time for the Oktober Guard to arrive, seeking to spirit the Talisman away for unknown masters.

With backup from new A.M.P. freelancer Kup, the heroes seemed to overwhelm the Guard, but were taken by surprise when the villains used a teleport to escape, taking the Talisman and the nearby Ian with them. Although Rom was forced to depart to continue his conflict with the Dire Wraiths, Mayday, Blackrock and Kup agreed to team up to recover Ian and secure the Talisman, hoping that it could be used to heal all those mutated by its power. Crisis Intervention

Suspecting the Talisman to have connections to ancient Cybetron and thus Microspace, the nascent team travelled to Seattle, Washington to seek the help of the Micronauts. After an initial misunderstanding, the two groups agreed to join forces, and the Micronauts used their sensors to trace the Talisman to Earth's moon. The heroes hurried to the satellite aboard the Heliopolis and a booster-equipped Kup, where they found the Oktober Guard's benefactors holed up in Cobra's abandoned moonbase.

Bursting their way in through the roof, the two teams engaged with swarms of mutant cyborg Red Shadow ninja, and successfully located both Ian and the Talisman. Unfortunately, the villainous faction's leadership, including Doctor X, Storm Shadow and Baron Ironblood made their escape using the base's M.A.S.S. teleporter. With the Talisman captured but no idea how to operate it, the newly formed team set out to learn the artifact's history, in the hopes of successfully healing its mutated victims. Enter The Shadow

Parting ways with the Micronauts, the team tracked down Richard Ruby, AKA Bulletman, who had been part of the Adventure Team that discovered the Talisman in an Egyptian pyramid. Through Ruby, the team learned that robotics mogul Garrison Kreiger had also been present for those events. While Kreiger's current whereabouts were unknown, the connection proved useful, pointing the group in the direction of his company I.R.O.N., now controlled by Kalistan dictator Iron Klaw and former Cobra leader Tomax Paoli. The Secret of the Mummy's Tomb

Recruiting G.I. Joe's Snake Eyes to assist, the team hatched an elaborate to infiltrate Kalistan's Iron Castle and gather intelligence. Disguised as Paoli, Snake Eyes requested a M.A.S.S. teleportation to the castle, with a "captured" Blackrock in tow. After Iron Klaw and Baron Ironblood connected Blackrock to an artificial Talisman, allowing him to access ancient memories buried in his Cybertronian mind, the rest of the team launched an assault on the castle, accompanied by a robotic decoy Snake Eyes for good measure. After an extended battle that saw the villains deploy the enthralled Decepticon combiner Predaking, the heroes, dubbed "Revolutionaries" by a resurfaced Garrison Kreiger, made their escape via M.A.S.S. teleport. Having learned from Blackrock's that the Talisman was indeed connected to Onyx Prime, the Revolutionaries headed out to acquire their next target: the real Tomax Paoli, now known to be in San Francisco. The Iron Klaw

The team infiltrated the city's I.R.O.N. building and confronted Paoli, but things quickly escalated into a chaotic skirmish when Centurion, a long-lost Transformer in the thrall of Kreiger, counter-attacked. Luckily however, Blackrock was able to talk the assailant down after discovering from I.R.O.N.'s computers that Centurion was a manipulated servant of Onyx Prime, just like him. With Paoli also captured, the team set their sights on the country of Brasnya, which per I.R.O.N. records was Centurion's original crash site and home to "Project: Ice Man". Strange Visitors

Having roped in M.A.S.K.'s Matt Trakker and Gloria Baker as reinforcements, the Revolutionaries made their move on the Ice Man facility, but the advance team of Action Man, Blackrock and Kup was compromised when the latter two were knocked unconscious by anti-Cybertronian countermeasures. Action Man was beset by the reanimated bodies of Centurion's former crewmates, but was able to blow a hole in the ceiling, opening a way into the base for M.A.S.K.'s high-tech vehicles.
