Combiner Wars
[edit]Combiner Wars Onslaught is repurposed as a body of Exarchon Lord of Misrule: Test Flight I
- Onslaught (Voyager Class, 2016)

- Part of the first wave of Combiner Wars product for 2016, Onslaught is a heavy retool of Hot Spot, replacing most the robot mode's parts from the waist up and turning the vehicle mode backwards, resulting in a transformation into an anti-aircraft truck rather than a fire truck. Being a Combiner Wars Voyager, he can combine with any four of that line's Deluxes, though he is meant to combine with his fellow Combaticons to form Bruticus. His guns can combine end-to-end to form a larger gun for Bruticus. While it may seem as if his turret cannot rotate, folding the combiner chestplate parts at the side of the truck mode up will allow it to do so. Shockwave can also loosely sit in a designated port on top of Onslaught's vehicle mode, between Bruticus' face cover and the crotch plate.
- When Hasbro originally announced the figure at BotCon 2015, he was advertised as having a tan Bruticus chestplate for a Generation 1 Onslaught-accurate color scheme as the first release and a silver chestplate for a Generation 1 Bruticus-accurate color scheme as a running change. Instead, only the version with a silver chest plate ever made it to retail, with the tan chestplate version never being released.
- While this toy officially omits the base mode of his G1 self, many fan mode base configurations exist to homage the G1 toy and even dock with Titan Class Trypticon.
- Though Onslaught's wave was scheduled for a first quarter 2016 release, it arrived on US store shelves in late 2015. Onslaught and the last three waves of Combiner Wars Deluxe and Voyager figures later showed up at TJ Maxx at reduced prices.
- This version of the Hot Spot/Onslaught mold served as the basis for Shattered Glass Soundwave's appearance in "Epilogue Two".
War for Cybertron: Siege

- Megatron (Voyager Class, 2019)

- Siege Megatron transforms from a G1 cartoon-esque robot to a
Grizzly battle tank from the Command & Conquer seriesCybertronian tank and back! Megatron's robot mode is pretty accurate to the original cartoon, despite having a completely different altmode. He is armed with 2 weapons compatible with the C.O.M.B.A.T. System, one of which is his trademark fusion cannon called the "D50-R35 Fusion Cannon". The other is the "HPR Telescopic Laserstrike Launcher," with two symmetrical blades facing the opposite direction, and can transform into a large sword resembling the sword included in the Takara release of the original Generation 1 toy and can be stored on his back. It can also be mounted on his back to resemble the gun barrel on the original cartoon model's back. Both can combine into the insanely large "NFM Particle Beam Megalauncher," which is meant to be held in his hands or over his head. Like his contemporaries in the Siege toyline, Megatron features 'battle damage' paint applications all over his head, chest, arms, and legs.
- Due to the way Megatron transforms, it's possible to rotate the turret 180 degrees and use the fusion cannon solely as the tank barrel, in the event one should lose the "Laserstrike Launcher" accessory; while not as aesthetically pleasing as the intended transformation, it still works.
- Megatron also suffers a slight design flaw: unlike with the left ankle, the right ankle's pivoting joint has a tendency to not lock back to its straight position once it is unlocked. The only way to amend this is by pressing the top end of the black plastic peg on the right foot. The light grey backpack/central front tank kibble also has a tendency to dislodge if his waist is moved left or right. Due to the Fusion Cannon's slightly longer post, the hand's dorsal panel slightly protrudes when in tank mode.
- There is a message written in Cybertronian letters on Megatron's box art, which reads "RISE FROM THE SHADOWS". Megatron's pose in the instruction manual's front cover is based on the promotional artwork by Guido Guidi.
- Amusingly, the first TakaraTomy (and later, Hasbro's secondary) stock photos of his robot mode depict him wielding the fusion cannon like a handheld weapon.
- Though designated for release in the first quarter of 2019, Megatron's wave reached U.S. store shelves in late 2018.
- Megatron was a notorious shelfwarmer, particularly in Asia, often unsold in large numbers.
- This mold was redecoed and retooled into multiple different Megatrons below, and Shattered Glass Megatron.

War for Cybertron Siege Shockwave is repurposed as a body of Exarchon in Lord of Misrule: Test Flight I
- Shockwave (Leader Class, 2019)

- Part of the first wave of Siege Leader Class figures, Shockwave is a heavily G1-inspired Voyager-sized robot that can assume a small Leader-sized super robot mode with four arms by combining with armor consisting of two shoulder pads, two platform boot pieces, and a backpack. These pieces are compatible with the C.O.M.B.A.T. System. They can be placed in many configurations on his body—TakaraTomy's stock photos suggest adding the accessories as limb-mounted cannon emplacements—or combined into a hovercraft, an intended feature not mentioned in the instructions.
- Shockwave himself transforms into a spaceship resembling an upside-down laser gun, which can be augmented using the armor. The bridge of the spaceship is sculpted to evoke Shockwave's head and features the same killer light-piping effect. If you're inclined, the spaceship (without the armor parts) can be displayed as such, though the "handle" on the spaceship bridge/legs is a bit too short for an adult hand to hold with.
- Like most Siege toys, Shockwave features multiple hardpoints all over himself and his weapons (such as his cannon arm, now called the "LV-1 Thermal Range Neuron Beam") to accommodate "Fire Blasts" from the Battle Masters assortment, which can be used to simulate blaster fire or explosions. Shockwave also features the typical Siege "battle damage" paint, but only on his feet and shoulder pads. TakaraTomy's stock photography shows a non-final figure with two inconsistent shades of purple.
- Caution should be taken with Shockwave's rubber hose, as it's prone to stress and breaking, especially at the plug connection point. This seems to be due to it being slightly too short, causing a great deal of tension at the point where it attaches to Shockwave's body when he's in spaceship mode or has his arm extended. The plug itself and the corresponding "correct" ports on his forearm and bridge tower seem to be slightly larger than standard 5mm posts, suggesting the size difference may be intentional to deter connecting the hose in a way that would lead to damage. However, the difference isn't enough to entirely prevent the peg from being pushed in with a small amount of force. This has the added effect of making some of his ports too loose to hold accessories properly while others may be slightly too tight.
- Though designated for release in the first quarter of 2019, Shockwave's wave reached U.S. store shelves in late 2018.
- Shockwave was released in both the first and last waves of the Siege toyline. The latter release unfortunately turned him into a massive shelfwarmer, particularly at Target stores, where he could still be found throughout the entirety of 2020 alongside the Earthrise toyline.
