A bunch of guys got figures in the 2000s; some of them existed beforehand, others were created and then promoted via the comics, and others have more complicated histories. I might shuffle some of the BW guys here later; in the meantime we have duders sorted by franchise of origin... and then some tricky stuff toward the end

[edit]These guys appeared in different media (either the G1 cartoon, the Marvel books, or the IDW books) before getting figures. I don't count anyone who was snuck into the IDW books to promote upcoming toys; see above for those jerks. For these guys, their first toylines are at the end.

Repurposed/Other
[edit]This is a complicated category.
Some of these guys were originally designed as figures for characters in other continuity families or as special versions of G1 characters but re-imagined in IDW as new characters. Others have toys that, while designated as part of the G1 continuity, are based on similar-looking characters from other continuities. Splitting hairs? Welcome to the TF Wiki. That said, I'm not a hairsplitter, so I'm lumping them all together here. In the later case, though, there's a link to the "G1 toyline" they come from.

The Thirteen Original Transformers: Power of the Primes
[edit]One day Simon Furman said "hey, what if Primus created 13 Cybertronians as the progenitors of the Transformer race!" Hasbro took that idea and ran with it, so it made sense that the idea would eventually trickle down to IDW. They have representations now in the Power of the Primes toyline, so when they appear in IDW, they'll now appear here.
