LISTEN UP FOOL, we are having a little bit of conflict at the moment i dont want that, but my idea's are funny and brawl is devastator, but pleese lets not fight any futher —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 58.165.241.232 (talkcontribs){{#if:07:02, 5 August 2007| 07:02, 5 August 2007|}}.

Your the fool, i agree with you, the eye joke is funny, and i like to call brawl Devastator, but ahhhhh that dosent give you the right to create talk pages calling people "lunch box" and "snack pack" now pleese excuse me while i ask for you to be blocked for a year, that should tech you, "lunch box" --Galvason 08:21, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, good luck with that. I doubt anyone is going to ban Rosicrucian at all, much less for a year, for reverting a blatantly racist joke that you repeatedly put into the article. - Dark T Zeratul 09:14, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Some confusion here. Galvason was talking to the anonymous editor who put in said racist joke, and was calling for the banning of that very anonymous editor. He was not calling for Rosicrucian to be banned.
People, please sign your talk page entries, and please keep discussion on pages where it is relevant. This particular conversation is veering off track from having anything to do with Rosicrucian at all. --Sntint 09:26, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Tigatron / Polar Claw

[edit]

An anonymous editor recently changed one of your additions to the Tigatron article: [1]. I don't really remember the story anymore; your version sounds right to me, but I'm not sure enough of it to make the revert myself. Take a look? --Steve-o 04:27, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Easily done. I've elaborated on the production choices that led to this decision, and the lingering link back to the original character reflected in where Tigatron awakened.--Rosicrucian 05:20, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Furman

[edit]

Really? I didn't think it was that mean, and the guy does write freaking EVERYTHING what do you think I should do to change it? Like, what was too snarky about it? --70.190.251.10 00:58, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

I would've said that it's a bit exaggerated, but considering the man wrote a freakin' "How to draw Transformers" book when he's not an artist, I'd say 70.190's edit were pretty much on the money. Maybe de-snarkicize them a little but not outright remove them. --Detour 01:33, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
Awesome, thank you. Though I really wish that bubble bath joke could have stayed. You're probably right though... (sigh) --70.190.251.10 01:59, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
I don't know, I think I knee-jerked a bit. Feel free to add it back in, I won't touch it. See what others think.--Rosicrucian 02:00, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
Nah, it's totally cool. It was kinda snarky, and I am an IP after all. Your version reads a lot more professional, and I think the world will survive without my "Simon Furman wrote the instructions on the back of the TF bubble bath" joke. Thanks again. --70.190.251.10 02:04, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Fine... We shall keep to the old captions, although we are not amused by them. --Lenny 19:00, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

No More Twinkies for Starcrunch

[edit]

k... sorry. I thought I was allowed to have a bit of fun on Teletraan-1. I guess not? Please ask before taking down my stuff. I'll say yes like 99.9% of the time. --Starcrunch 16:09, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Well, I didn't mark it for deletion, and I don't have the power to take it down. That's pretty much why I asked on the talkpage first rather than slapping a deletion template on it.--Rosicrucian 16:16, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
If you contributed to this wiki before creating a self-indulgent image-intensive User page which expanded into a separate disambiguation page, we probably wouldn't mind as much. Okay, we'd still mind the separate disambiguation page. That was just ridiculous. --ItsWalky 16:19, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Ouch... Thanks for that lovely incentive to continue contributing. I've been coming to Teletraan-1 for a long time, and finally signed up yesterday. I admit that prior to creating my User pages, I had only contributed only one insignificant picture to an article marked as needing one, but I can't fix every stub in one day! I thought I could help improve this thing and have a little fun at the same time. Maybe I was wrong, but I'm gonna keep trying to contribute... despite all your wonderful hospitality. --Starcrunch 16:36, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Rartorata

[edit]

I noticed an image you uploaded of Rartorata uses a different spelling of his name than the character's article and the dialogue in the scan itself. Was that intentional (why?), or would you mind re-uploading the scan with a corrected filename? --Sntint 23:43, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Sntint, nobody cares about one letter. As long as the filename is descriptive and is unique. Interrobang 23:48, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
It's mainly because like most people I can't spell the guy's name worth a damn. But yeah, I noticed it after uploading and figured that this was the one character I could get away with it on.--Rosicrucian 23:54, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
*shrug* Okay. --Sntint 13:43, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
I fixed it. It took me a whole 30 seconds of work. --Steve-o 14:16, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

IDW G1 issues

[edit]

Hi, Hearts of Steel and IDW's Beast Wars series, while not part of their main ongoing G1 series, are still part of G1 issues published by IDW, and hense should be included in IDW Generation 1 issues. --MistaTee 15:57, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

But the "IDW Generation 1 issues" category is SPECIFICALLY for issues of their main ongoing G1 series. --ItsWalky 16:19, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
Eh, yeah I guess it's better than making a "IDW outside of the main continuity Generation 1 issues" category. --MistaTee 16:34, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
As I said in the edit summary, there will one day be more Evolutions titles. At such a time we can move them over to there.--RosicrucianTalk 16:38, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

And for that matter the Beast Wars issues are their own animal, to the point of getting a distinct timeline.--RosicrucianTalk 16:41, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

stub fixes

[edit]

Changing to the various types of stubs is a good thing. However, while going through, see if the article REALLY is a stub. Many of these seem to be fairly well-filled out articles. Maybe apply the stub to a particular section if it needs it. Thanks. --MistaTee 01:26, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

As I mentioned on the stub template talkpage, I'm doing this entirely as just changing one type of stub for another. Otherwise it would be an even more Sisyphean task than it already is. What I'm hoping is that once the stubs are sorted, determining which tags to remove will be easier.--RosicrucianTalk 01:28, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
Cool, appreciate the work! --MistaTee 02:57, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

Hey you followed me to the wikipedia in the first place. Remember Starcraft Shadow of the Xel Naga? You left a trollish remark on TougHHeads talk page.(76.195.186.73 00:36, 4 December 2007 (UTC))
We don't discuss Wikipedia on Wikia talkpages.--RosicrucianTalk 00:38, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Sure we do. We mostly make fun of it.
And while the wikia itself has fairly narrow content focus, talk pages are always meta. We dont' pretend not to know who Spider-man is on his talk page, and we don't pretend not to know our trolls are considered major nuisances by other forums (indicating it's not merely a failure to adapt to our particular brand of wiki culture) when discussing possible courses of action either. -Derik 05:15, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Spoilers in profiles

[edit]

For fuck's sake, stop putting spoilers in the character profiles! Those go in the Fiction sections, and always with the {{spoiler}} template. --FortMax 01:09, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

I can has stubs now?

[edit]

I have another problem. Maybe it's because i'm a beginner, but I have no idea how to get one of those "stub" signs up. I've had to resort to using the "Report a problem" thing, resulting in people telling me to do it myself. (Yeah,Rosicrucian, I'm talking to you.) Honestly, give me a break! - Crosshairs-1 18:30, 27 January 2008 (UTC)Crosshairs-1

Templates are used via curly braces (IE {{yourtemplategoeshere}}). Thus, a generic stub gets marked with {{stub}}, a character stub with {{charstub}}, a cartoon episode with {{epstub}}, and a comic issue with {{issuestub}}. Documentation for stub templates can be found at template:stub.--RosicrucianTalk 19:01, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
You could also find a page marked as a stub, click "edit", and look at the text inside to see how it was marked. --M Sipher 19:03, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

re: Factions and history

[edit]

u said: Actually, unless I'm mistaken Jhiaxus and Nova Prime just predate the Decepticons, not the Autobots. The Prime, as well as the government of Cybertron, are all Autobots to my knowledge. That seems to be how IDW is playing it.--RosicrucianTalk 06:24, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Take a look at the Galvatron Spotlight. I don't have it in front of me, but he said something like "before factions" referring to the time when he, Nova and Jhiaxus disappeared on the Ark-1. So none of the Dead Universe folks would be aligned with any faction. --MistaTee 15:31, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
u said: I'm mainly judging by the fact that we've termed Nova Prime an Autobot on this wiki, and have had a few edits keeping that the case. Bear in mind that being "before factions" could easily just mean that Galvatron predates the Cybertronian civil war, and thus existed when the Autobots were the dominant (and perhaps only) faction.--RosicrucianTalk 15:50, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
Could be true, yes. However, is there anything stating explicitly that Nova, etc. were Autobots? Autobot symbol or anything? Would that also make Galvatron an Autobot since he was with their crew? I'll have to look over the Spotlights for Galvatron and Prime when I get home for insight. --MistaTee 16:34, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit]

Slag. I like chin jokes. MR. Q (I'm a GUY) 15:43, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

There's already at least a dozen chin jokes on Transformers Animated pages. Every day, someone tries to add another three or so. It's getting old.--RosicrucianTalk 15:46, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
So are all the jabs at "Geewunners" and the fanbase that doesn't share an Allspark mindset in general. While there was a minor crackdown on these, the site is still full of them. At least the chin jokes don't target people, and are actually amusing to people who aren't circlejerks.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 143.239.7.2 (talkcontribs){{#if:| {{{2}}}|}}.

Oh,i generally assumed so because you often correct mistakes and give warnings to members. Any idea who i can contact? Decepticon Rhinox 22:30, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Everyone around here puts in their two cents on issues and policy, and if a repeated edit is problematic will often leave a note on someone's talkpage to knock that crap off. The difference between an ordinary user telling you that and an admin telling you that is that if you laugh off the admin you're probably getting a block. With ordinary users, it's more based off of consensus so if a bunch of different users are reverting you it's often best to take a step back and think about why.--RosicrucianTalk 23:12, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Trivia

[edit]

The site is full of Trivia such as that, and lot of it is hardly more than speculative. I find it hard to believe Transformers Animated, despite being released soon after Gurren Lagann, wasn't influenced by it's art-style in the slightest. Not to mention that we know for a FACT that it references Macross, and having both a device very similiar to the Lagann(Headmaster) AND Kamina shades in the same show makes it unlikely to be a coincidence. Stop being a circlejerk. There's plenty of Trivia that's at least as bad that doesn't get changed.

I'd like to add that you have some positively ridiculous references like Bulkhead's costume resembling that of a Peanuts' character - and pointing out that it was a coincidence, and most likely not a reference. Why hasn't this been removed? It'd be pretty anal wouldn't it?

And why are almost all of these references WESTERN? The TF Wiki has always been laughably anti-Japanese, I don't suppose you remember the LEO PRIME incident? This is the kind of shit that really needs to stop, not pointing out very notable and probable references.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 143.239.7.2 (talkcontribs){{#if:| {{{2}}}|}}.

Actually, we had a rather long discussion about Bulkhead's Halloween costume on the talk page. Additionally, this is an English language wiki, so that is what we'll focus on. And to the Japanese bias, forgive us, but there has been some questionable material sent out, not to mention the whole UT dubbing and continuity headaches. That being said, your use of language is on the verge of getting you a ban. I'm more tolerant of arguments have worked on a few wikis, but a lot of people here are aren't. Tone down you language, and bring it up on the talk pages of the relevant articles. -- SFH 23:15, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Well then, if you're accusing us of being anti-Japanese and referencing the "Leo Prime" incident as you call it, you've probably been here for quite some time.
However, you'll notice that it's not just me who thinks your edits don't add anything to the articles in question.--RosicrucianTalk 23:17, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
No, I also noted the king of all Circlejerks, M Sipher, reverting them to. Note that I called you a "circlejerk" implying there were others in your circle. Additionally, since you ARE circlejerks, having discussion on
I also noted that you called me a "Japanophile". Mature. The TF Wiki has a reputation on other sites for being full of Circlejerks, so that was hardly uncalled for. So I'm also going to call you a Reverse Weeaboo(who are twice as annoying as twice as common as Bleach/DBZ/Death Note obsessives).
I pointed out 3 Gurren Lagann references that are brought up everywhere BUT here - Prowl's Kamina shades, Soundwave's Kamina shades, and the fact that Headmaster is based heavily on the Lagann(they're even a similiar size and colour). I like plenty of other mecha related anime other than Gurren Lagann, but the references stood out referencing anything more than obscure than it will have the anti-Weeaboo clowns on my back even quicker than you were. All of these are valid references, and more notable than a highly speculative Peanuts reference, no matter how much you discussed it.
Pointing out Gurren Lagann being referenced on a Gurren Lagann wiki wouldn't work the same way, do you even think before you type? Come on.
The poor quality of some Japanese material is no excuse for this bias. Why are you referencing things like Jurassic Park left and right, but not the mecha anime that inspired and gave shaped to Transformers as we know it? I bet if I go to Galax- oops sorry CYBERTRON PRIME'S page there isn't going to be a single mention of his uncanny resemblance to Gao Gai Gar. Some of you are stupid enough to believe that UT era Transformers sucked because it was an anime, but TF Animated, made IN AMERIKKA(lol at all the asian names being involved with it) is superior because it's western; so I'm not sure where to start.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 143.239.7.2 (talkcontribs){{#if:| {{{2}}}|}}.
Wait, wait, "there isn't going to be a single mention of his uncanny resemblance to GaoGaiGar"? Only if "uncanny" now means "extremely cursory"... He has upturned wings and headfins. No drill knees. No lion chest (indeed, not even a protruding chest that could be interpreted as similar). No transformation similarities. Nothing else. I must question the value of your judgements based on that alone.--MCRG 02:24, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Not to mention we've got an entire page dedicated to Transformers' kissing cousins franchise Brave which makes note of the exact GaoGaiGar connection he mentions.--RosicrucianTalk 02:33, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
If you've come out here with guns a-blazing calling everyone who disagrees with you "circlejerks" I hardly think I am being immature or escalating this little war of words by calling you a "Japanophile" when... er... you really like Japanese culture and are blaming us for not featuring more of it. I certainly don't think it's even half as inflammatory as what you've been dishing out on talkpages.--RosicrucianTalk 23:41, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
1) Anti-Japan bias? You clearly have never looked at the Energon (cartoon) pages. Trust me, we call 'em as we see 'em, regardless of country of origin.
2) Please stop trying to use the phrase "circle jerk". You clearly have no idea what it means or how it's used in context, and it's kind of embarrassing to watch. -- Repowers 23:49, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
I know what Circlejerk means. The fact is that certain references are allowed up because they're made by well recognised . Why should someone have to earn "respect" to point out obvious references? There's this set idea of what Transformers and the Transformers fandom is on this Wiki that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with how it actually is. You all wank each other off dropping these jokes and references aimed at those who don't view it that way.
I hate Encyclopedia Dramatica to bits, because they are in fact massive Circle Jerks(harassing some people while praising each other and their grossly overweight mistress GirlVinyl), but oddly they seemed to describe it well enough -
"Circle jerks OTI
Online, a circle jerk is a bizarre internets ritual which involves 13 year old boys gathering on BBS, AOL, and chat to banter with fervour about their particular fandom. When witnessing a circle jerk an outsider should not provoke the fanboys with dissident views as it is akin to instigating a shark feeding frenzy. "
And if that's true about country of origin - explain the Lio Convoy fiasco, please? There are at least SOME high level editors who instigate an anti-J bias on at least SOME aspects of the Transformers franchise/fandom. Why is it that you acknowledge minor mainstream western references that appear in Transformers, but not the many ones that come from Mecha anime?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 143.239.7.2 (talkcontribs){{#if:| {{{2}}}|}}.
The "Lio Convoy fiasco" was because his official English name was Leo Prime at that point in time. We're an English Wiki, and we use English names when possible. If we were as profoundly anti-Japanese as you claim, then why would we be having article titles such as Dark Nitro Convoy or Simon Belmondo?
I'm sorry if the fact that there's no anti-Japan conspiracy disappoints you. —Interrobang 00:34, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Seriously. You're repeatedly showing that you don't understand the phrase. Lemme clue ya in a bit: jerk doesn't refer to a person at all. You're pullin' a "make like a tree and get out of here" and it's really making you look dumb.
And y'know what? When I find myself starting to get embroiled in a stupid, pointless argument like this on the Wiki, you know what I do? I just drop it completely and go do something else entirely. Either I go to some unrelated Wiki topic and contribute something useful, or I move on to another activity entirely. Use your discretion accordingly. -- Repowers 02:43, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Much as I don't want to belabor this issue, I think he actually DOES know what the phrase means (or at least recognizes that the "jerk" involved is a verb, not a noun), considering his accusation that the regulars "wank each other off" with references only understood among themselves. His use of "jerk" as a noun was an attempt to play on words, not an act of total ignorance. For whatever it's worth and all.--Apcog 02:51, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
"Circlejerk", the term he uses, basically refers to situations where a group of people do the same thing and essentially congratulate each other while doing little else. Of course, our dear banned anon doesn't use it correctly, using it to refer to individuals. We'll ignore the fact that not everybody here is part of WiiGii!; makes it harder for such people to develop conspiracy theories about how Walky rules the Wiki with an iron fist and WiiGii! minions. —Interrobang 03:33, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Oh, I didn't say he'd successfully made a play on words, only that he wasn't speaking out of total ignorance of the actual meaning of the phrase. He was attempting to use "jerk" as a noun to refer to people who engage in circle-jerking, obviously. That his attitude was based on ill-founded preconceptions of the wiki's population wasn't my point.
......
Wait, you mean Walky doesn't rule the wiki with an iron fist and WiiGii! minions? My faith in him is so shaken now.--Apcog 03:46, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

I am vaguely amused that nearly all of this little culture war played out on my talkpage.--RosicrucianTalk 03:49, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

RiD Scourge trivia edit

[edit]

There's no reason why my edit to RiD Scourge's trivia should be deleted; it is a valid point that fans have joked about, and it is hypocritical to not allow it when similar "jokes" have been made on Airazor's and Override's articles. Seriously, RiD Scourge is a "male" Decepticon with human female DNA in his biosignature; how can anyone not joke about that in regards to his gender? 64.13.101.210 23:31, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure why you are having a go at me - neither Rook (G1) or Rook (G2) existed earlier - I created Rook (G1) (rather than G2 as Leige Maximo, Jhixaus etc are listed as being part of the Generation 1 continuity family) and then noticed a link on another page that was pointing to the page create for Rook (G2) and changed this link to Rook (G1).

If you want it to be Rook (G2) that's fine, just cmake sure it's consistent across all pages.

I think this one is my mistake. I was under the impression you were trying to move an existing page to an inappropriate parenthetical (IE G2 Rook to G1) without using the move button (that is, with a cut and paste). I think I assumed this because you changed Jhiaxus' page first.--RosicrucianTalk 22:12, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
Ok, I have taken a hint and registered ;) I have changed some of the Rook (G1) links to Rook (G2), if I find any more I'll change them too. I also took your comment "Needless redirect that only exists because an anonymous editor was dicking around" out of Rook (G1)" ManOfIron 21:54, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
