White lion

The white lion is a Maximal-allied lion from the Beast Wars II portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Sometimes, a family is a rare white lion, the Transformer champion whose life he saved and who took his beast mode from the lion, and that Transformer's clone-son the Transformer didn't know existed and whom the lion raised himself until the boy realized he wasn't a lion and he was adopted and somewhat coldly went looking for his true origins, never looking back. And that's beautiful.

The white lion (白いライオン shiroi lion) is a lion who lives in the Valley of Lions in the North Continent of Gaia. He is a smart and emphatic animal who takes care of those he doesn't eat.

Now, what did Artemis say about child support?

When Convoy's Maximal Reconnaissance Ship crashed on Gaia, his injuries were so severe he could do nothing but lie waiting for the planet's atmosphere to corrode his body in the absence of a protective alternate mode. He would've died if not for the white lion, who took him on his back and ran with him to a valley filled with crystalline Angolmois Energy that reinvigorated the Transformer. White Lion, Run! During that time, the Angolmois Energy caused Convoy's Energon Matrix to split into a second lifeform, whom for one reason or another Convoy didn't see when he finally came to. Enter Lio Junior The white lion was around, though, and Convoy scanned him as his beast mode, becoming Lio Convoy.

Lio Convoy moved out by the time Galvatron's Predacons reached Gaia White Lion, Run! and the white lion took care of the lifeform he unknowingly left behind. Enter Lio Junior The white lion's life should've been uneventful again, but Lio Convoy rescued his team from the Predacons while maintaining his beast mode, which provoked the Predacons to hunt for the curious white lion that had interfered with their kill. This task was given to the Combatrons and their instructions were to capture the white lion alive, although this did not work well with the Autorollers' instruction to scorch the jungle in which the white lion lived. Starscream and BB found the white lion and accidentally injured his right front paw, but he did get away and amidst the burning trees was found by Lio Convoy and Apache. Aware that he was among friends, the exhausted white lion collapsed. Lio Convoy entrusted the animal to Apache, who treated the injured paw, while he himself went out to get captured by the Predacons to see what their intentions were and stop them. By revealing himself as Lio Convoy, he also took away their reason to go after the white lion in the future. White Lion, Run!

Those troubles over, the white lion returned to the Transformer left in his care. The youngling woke up in lion mode and because the only one with him at the time was the white lion, he believed himself to be a lion. Likewise, the white lion took care of him as if he were his own cub. The two were happy together until the day on which the youngling learned that he had the ability to transform into a humanoid shape and his lion father did not. Desiring to know who his "biological" parents were, the youngling went looking and left the white lion behind. Enter Lio Junior

End of G1 Universe

When the white lion died, he was buried in his home in the Valley of Lions. Many events later, Leo Prime returned to the Valley of Lions when he was in need of a power boost only Angolmois Energy could give him and on the way picked some flowers to lay on his old friend's grave. Once at location, he used the traces of Angolmois Energy there to retake the form of the lion, once again becoming Lio Convoy, the Legendary Green Lion. Age of Primes

Notes

• Chronologically, the last appearance of the white lion is Lio Junior's memory of him falling on his head while failing to transform. This is despite the fact that the Valley of Lions is visited twice thereafter. It could be that that fall was a little less slapstick than it might've looked.
