Witterquick

Witterquick is a Spectral Knight from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

My name is Witterquick, and I am the fastest Prysmosian alive.

Quick on his feet and smart with his mouth, Witterquick is the fastest of the Spectral Knights, using his magic powers to turn from a Prysmosian into a cheetah.

Fiction

2005 IDW continuity family

On Prysmos, Witterquick was a Spectral Knight and a follower of Leoric, vying for the favor of Merklynn opposite Darkstorm's Darkling Lords.

When Prysmos was destroyed, he was one of the ten thousand Prysmosians who escaped the destruction, and eventually took up residence in New Prysmos, a city beneath the surface of Cybertron founded by Merklynn. He was present for a preliminary meeting of the Visionaries, as the technophobic Prysmosians debated what to do about the Cybertronians controlling the planet. When Lexor agreed with Virulina that they should take the fight to the Transformers, Witterquick snarkily noted that his allegiance to the Darkling Lords' leader was unsurprising, and was rebuked for his sarcasm by Lexor. Following the death of Kup at the hands of Virulina, Witterquick and the other Spectral Knights regrouped at their Redoubt to discuss their next moves. With the Darkling Lords threatening genocide against the Transformer species, Leoric argued that keeping the peace with the Transformers was the only way to preserve their endangered species, and so the Spectral Knights moved out to stop the Darkling Lords from destroying the force field that cut their city off from the rest of Cybertron. Witterquick wound up battling Cravex, and despite putting his superior speed to good use, he was forced to withdraw when rebellious citizens of New Prysmos turned on him. As the Darkling Lords succeeded in bringing down the protective barrier, Witterquick and the other Spectral Knights withdrew to Wheeljack's workshop to successfully negotiate an alliance with the Transformers. Joined by the untrustworthy Mortdred—who brought word of Virulina's recent ascension to chancellor of New Prysmos—Leoric ordered Arzon and Witterquick to return to New Prysmos, in the hopes of assassinating Virulina before she could return to power. Mortdred guided them through the tunnels and into the city; spying a Darkling Lord, Witterquick used his speed to knock them out... and learned that he had attacked his former comrade Feryl, who had now joined the Darkling Lords. Shortly afterwards, the pair were betrayed by Mortdred, with Witterquick captured by Virulina aboard her mechanical steed Waspinator. Desperate Measures Mortdred and Witterquick were both taken prisoner and tortured by Reekon, using a spell of Merklynn's devising to accelerate the progress of the Talisman towards the core of Cybertron. Good Men When Leoric returned to New Prysmos, he freed Witterquick, but left Mortdred imprisoned for his betrayal. Witterquick joined him as Leoric addressed those Spectral Knights who had chosen to join the Darkling Lords and convinced them to return to his side. The Curtain

Notes

• Witterquick, of course, hails from the original 1980s Visionaries franchise from Hasbro.
• Early concept art and cover solicitations for Transformers vs. Visionaries depicted Witterquick's armor as red like the original figure. This was changed in the actual comic so that all the Spectral Knights had blue armor.
• Jim Cummings voiced Witterquick in the original Visionaries cartoon.
