Matrix Buster

The all-destroying Matrix Buster (マトリックスバスター Matorikkusu Basutā), also known as the "Red Matrix" (レッドマトリクス Reddo Matorikusu), is the vessel of the Red Star Power, one of the Seven Lights of creation of the Precursor World. It is entrusted to the leader of the Red Order of the Primus Vanguard. The core module can take on a more traditional Matrix shape or be buried deep within its usual form of a massive cannon.

Precursor World

In the final battle between the Primus Vanguard and the Specters, Red Order leader Red Sentinel Prime unleashed the Red Matrix's Star Power along with the other six Lights to annihilate the Specters, which had the secondary effect of combining their multiverse into a single multicolored world. Later, Primus, driven mad by grim visions of an apocalyptic future, demanded the Red Matrix so that he might destroy the universe; Sentinel declined and returned to the Red Planet with his Matrix. When Terrormander came to the Red Planet in an attempt to take the Red Matrix, Sentinel inserted it into the Matrix Buster to shoot down the Seacon, but he simply brushed off the blast and took the cannon for himself. When God Neptune was formed, the Matrix Buster was mounted on his shoulder. God Neptune comic 1 In the ensuing battle for the seven remaining Matrices of Star Power, the ghost of Blue Big Convoy confiscated the Matrix Buster and used it to give God Neptune a good blast. The victorious Megatron Omega subsequently retrieved the Matrix Buster's core as well as the other matrices stolen by the Seacons and began to absorb their Star Power into his own Silver Matrix, only for a vengeful Halfshell to split his head open with the Neptune Sword, interrupting the process and sending the Red Matrix flying. Encore Big Convoy's energon matrix and Matrix Buster were repurposed as the Red Matrix.

This release of the Big Convoy figure comes with a new, show-accurate Matrix Buster accessory, which means that he comes with two Matrix Busters in a single toy.
