Precursor World

[edit]

Primus's envoy traveled to the distant future of the G1 World and conscripted the Space Pirate Seacons into the Golden Age's service via the kidnapping of Lawbhammer, instructing them to recruit Turtler's Seacons in turn from 2020 and then steal the Matrices of Star Power from the Primus Vanguard. God Neptune comic 2

Primus brought the full force of the Golden Age to bear against the Powered Masters in an expedition to 2050 of the G1 World to capture its newly formed, empty Silver Matrix for his patsy Star Convoy. Abominus comic 2

When God Neptune successfully retrieved five of the seven Star Powers, the envoy had an upgraded and obedient Lawbhammer seize control of the combiner and made his grand entrance astride the mobile platform mode of Soundwave (the boombox guy), dramatically declaring all of the players gathered according to Primus's vision.

When Star Convoy grew wise to their master's plan, the rest of the Golden Age leapt to restrain him as their master personally gathered the last two Star Powers from Megatron Omega and Purple Wicked Convoy.

The envoy and Primus both shrieked in triumph as Primus brought the full power of the Seven Lights to bear, bringing about the end of the Precursor World the Golden Age had so long strived for- Finale Prelude

-Only to be blown to smithereens by Neo Primus's central cannon! The god's golden shell fell away to reveal his true form- a tiny energy being of pure Angolmois: the original Oracle! The surviving Primus Vanguard commanders whisked the now-exposed Oracle to safety, thankfully more resilient than their mad king had given them credit for. A brief heart to heart with Red Sentinel Prime moved the Oracle, and he began to reconsider his plan. As the Vanguard's final battle with Primacron's behemoth played out overhead, Megatron Omega, still functioning as well, made use of the commotion for one last power play, draining the Golden Power from the envoy to become Gold Megatron and seizing the back-in-play Silver Matrix to create a squadron of doppelgangers of Primus Vanguard command in his own image. Realizing the dire nature of the threat, the Oracle reversed his orders, and the Golden Age freed Star Convoy and pooled their Golden Power into him willingly. Star arose deputized into the Golden Age as Gold Primus Convoy, Primus's eighth and final champion!

Unfortunately, eight on one proved a bit much for even the Golden Power, and the pack of Megatrons had Gold Primus Convoy on the ropes until the timely intercession of Megatron's heroic future self from the year 2050 gave a battered Star Convoy the opening he needed to whack Gold Megatron all the way back to down to Galvatron with a mighty swing of what remained of his chest star. With Galvatron pacified, Star shouted for the Oracle to take the shot, and the diminutive god guided the two back to their own time.

And so, the Oracle and the Golden Age returned their various dupes and ill-gotten goods to their appropriate places throughout time and space, and reaffirmed their commitment to defending the defenseless and battling for justice wherever destiny took them. Thus, peace returned to the Precursor World.

It was a temporary lull, as the Oracle was captured by the twin Straxuses, destroyers of the Blue Order. Soundwave (the bat guy) looked on in horror as the Straxuses vowed to exploit the power vacuum left by the Primus Vanguard. In response, Beast Soundwave quietly made his own proclamation: The Primus Vanguard would return! Finale

Some time later, Beast Soundwave facilitated the escape of the diminutive clones Megalligator and Convobat from the Straxuses' Darkmount, taking care to separate the two by knocking out Convobat. Cybertron Convobat prequel comic He then guided the lone Blue Order survivor Magna Convoy from the Ivory Towers to Darkmount, aiding in his quest to retake the Matrix Sword. Cybertron Magna Convoy prequel comic After Magna Convoy and Convobat prevailed against the Straxuses and reconsecrated the Blue Order, Beast Soundwave and a mysterious ally observed them and a motley assortment of Vanguard survivors and potential recruits throughout the multiverse. Cybertron Magna Convoy

Somehow or other the Golden Age managed to repeat that trick six more times and the Primus Vanguard was reborn! Finale

Notes

[edit]
  • Just like their Primus Vanguard brethren, the Golden Age are made up of themed repurposings, namely gold chrome decoes.
  • The implication seems to be that the Golden Age were granted their Golden Power by Primus. However, this is not explicitly stated in the comic.
