God Neptune and the Seacons were new arrivals on Gaia when Artemis and Moon compared the relative strengths of the Maximals and Predacons, and so they weren't included in the rankings. Who Is the Strongest Warrior!?

Buzzed by Predacons and confronted by Maximals, the Seacons tried on three separate occasions to form God Neptune and swat away these pests, but Scylla kept disappearing. Her sudden infatuation with the Maximals Scuba caused her to shirk her duties and had a tendency to leave God Neptune short-handed...or, rather, short-footed and without a giant peg-leg in sight. Spurred into action by Galvatron's mockery, the Seacons lured the Maximals out into the ocean until they were trapped on a small bit of rock. They formed God Neptune to finish the job, splitting the Maximals' rock in twain with one strike of the Neptune Sword. As God Neptune moved in for the kill, however, the Insectrons arrived to defend their friends. Tonbot and Bigmos injured the surprised God Neptune, distracting him long enough for the Insectrons to lift up Lio Convoy who administered the coup-de-grace. Showdown in the Sea

A comedy of errors soon followed, as often happens when the Jointrons are involved, leading into a conflict between God Neptune and Tripledacus. The combiners fought sword-to-seven years sword, until Lio Convoy and the Maximals blasted the cliff under God Neptune's feet, sending him back into the sea. Face the Setting Sun

As Halfshell and the Seacons prepared to leave Gaia, Halfshell challenged Lio Convoy to a one-on-one fight, with the energy they needed to depart at stake. He merely neglected to mention the Seacons' "one" in the bout would be God Neptune. Lio Convoy took the unexpected opponent in stride, however, and used his maneuverability on land to keep the combiner off-balance. Even when God Neptune temporarily got Lio Convoy back into the water, he returned to land and surer footing soon enough. Lio Convoy buried God Neptune in a rockslide right before a sneak attack by Megastorm set off an Angolmois Energy chain reaction on the island chain. Seizing the opportunity (and the energy), Halfshell split up and made his way back to the Photon sailer with the energy necessary for departure. The Final Battle

The Space Pirates ran afoul of the Jointrons in Gaia's orbit, prompting a conflict between God Neptune and Tripledacus. Their battle was interrupted by the arrival of a massive teleport gate caught in Gaia's gravity, knocking the two combiners aside and back into their respective components. By inadvertently sailing near the artificial planet Nemesis, the Seacons succumbed to the evil influence of Galvatron and became his slaves. At Galvatron's direction, they intercepted the Maximals on their way to Nemesis and forced them down to do battle on an asteroid. When Lio Junior summoned the combined power of Magnaboss, Halfshell and the Seacons formed God Neptune to counter him. The two combiners fought sword to sword, with God Neptune gaining an advantage over his younger opponent. Eventually, the Maximals dog-piled on God Neptune, holding him still long enough for Magnaboss to unleash a massive Angolmois Ball, blasting the Seacons back into their individual forms. When his crew was horribly injured, Halfshell followed the direction of a mysterious benefactor to restore and reformat them upon visiting the Precursor World. Once they were active again, the Space Pirates gathered the various Matrices held by the leaders of the orders that made up the Primus Vanguard. Successful on their different raids, the Space Pirates came together and assembled as God Neptune with the united powers of the White, Red, Yellow, Green, and Black Matrices in their grasp. God Neptune comic 1 Confident he could seize the remaining Matrices, God Neptune went up against the alliance of Purple Wicked Convoy, the Straxus twins, and Megatron Omega, who collectively had the power of the Blue and Purple Matrices. God Neptune was caught off-guard when the spirit of Blue Big Convoy emerged from the Matrix Sword stolen by Straxus and turned the Matrix Buster against him. The previously defeated Primus Vanguard leaders also rallied against God Neptune. However, the Angolmois Energy within allowed God Neptune to cut White Gallant Convoy in half and kill his other attackers with his Neptune Sword.

Megatron Omega and Purple Wicked Convoy combined to form an SF Gun Turret that blasted God Neptune apart with Megatron's own Angolmois Energy. However, the spirit of White Gallant Convoy had been absorbed into the Neptune Sword, and he felt Halfshell's loss over the fate of his crew. As the Straxuses and Megatron Omega attempted to make the collected Star Power within the Matrices their own, Halfshell used the Neptune Sword to bisect Megatron and take the energies for himself. The Space Pirates were restored and God Neptune emerged, flush with Star Power. Megatron Omega healed himself as well, but God Neptune was prepared to continue the fight. Purple Wicked Convoy and Megatron Omega combined to create the Omega Hand, but their attack was blocked by a restored Lawbhammer. God Neptune's joy was short-lived as Lawbhammer turned on him and blasted Scylla free, taking her position and seizing control of the combiner. Primus, the Space Pirates' benefactor, commanded Lawbhammer to transfer all the accumulated Matrices' power into the Neptune Sword, which was handed over to him. Finale Prelude Eventually returned to his senses, God Neptune teamed up with a reluctant King Poseidon to battle the New Primus Vanguard assembled by Megatron on the Blue Planet. Finale

When Galvatron's Predacons crashed Scylla's wedding by the Seacons' photon sailer, the angered crew formed God Neptune to defend themselves. This didn't amount to much, as the Predacons concentrated their firepower on the pirate combiner, sending him tumbling. Nevertheless, Bighorn, Scuba, and Scylla were able to unleash their attacks on the Predacons, repelling the attackers. Realize the Forbidden Love!

With the Enigma of Combination, the Seacons gained the ability to combine. Megatron struggled for a minute while he tried to think of a name for their combined form. He asked other Decepticons for help with the name. Spinister said Leviathan, Exhaust said Kraken, and Dirtbag said God Neptune, which was the one Megatron chose. Halfshell didn't like it much but said it could grow on him. Megatron then told them to combine somewhere remote, and Tarn suggested somewhere full of Autobots and Maximals, specifically where the High Council bots have set up a Vector Sigma interface on Earth.All Guns Blazing

Sold only as a boxed set of five toys in the seventh wave of Beast Wars II, God Neptune is a redeco of most of the Generation 1 Seacon team, combining Halfshell, Coelagon, Skyulle, Sea Phantom, and Terrormander. Since the set uses the Scramble City-style of construction, the body and limbs are interchangeable with similar-build combiner teams.
The set does not include a redeco of the Nautilator/Lobclaw toy, and almost all of the weapons and gun-mode stands for the individuals are also missing.
For unknown reasons, a great number of unboxed God Neptune sets—lacking all of their accessories, including combiner parts—ended up available on the secondary market. These went for considerably less than the "complete" releases, naturally.
This toy was later repurposed as Classics God Neptune in the comic arc Beast Wars Shattered Glass.

God Neptune is a redeco of Generations Selects King Poseidon, sold only as a five-pack of Halfshell, Coelagon, Skyulle, Sea Phantom, and Terrormander. The base molds are heavy retoolings of various Power of the Primes combiners, making them compatible with other Combiner Wars-style combiner teams.
He is armed with a large trident-shaped "Neptune Sword" and a "Neptune cannon," each formed by merging the weapons of the component Seacons. As a redeco, God Neptune shares King Poseidon's Targetmaster function, which went unadvertised in this set due to having only five components instead of Poseidon's six.
The God Neptune set was announced in May 2020, set for an October 2020 release. It was exclusive to TakaraTomy Mall and Hasbro Pulse.
