Ape X Arms

Ape X Arms is an Autobot drone from the Legends portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

I was a wimp before Ape X Arms! Now I'm a jerk, and everybody loves me!

Ape X Arms (エイプXアームズ Eipu X Āmuzu) is the partner drone of Convobat. He was developed to compensate for his master's lack of firepower.

Precursor World

Ape X Arms and his "siblings" looked on with unease as their creator Straxus announced his intention to exploit the power vacuum left by the fall of the Primus Vanguard and use his "children" to conquer the Precursor World. Finale

While escaping from Darkmount, Convobat's fellow experiment Megalligator called forth Ape X Arms and had him blast the guards Hailstorm and Terradive. Ape X Arms accompanied Convobat in his exploration of the mysterious downed vessel that Megalligator had been using as a base, meeting Magna Convoy inside. As Magna Convoy regaled them with tales of the fall of his Blue Order and attempted to bequeath Convobat the remains of the Matrix Sword, Ape X Arms eyed the encroaching Rollermaster Corps with concern. Legends comic

In the Legends World, Optimus Primal woke up one day in the form of Ape X Arms thanks to Transformers sickness. When Nightscream spotted him on the street, he was immediately recruited into his movie, Convobat Amazon Showdown, where Primal played Ape X Arms. The native Megatron played Megalligator, and the two attempted to combine, but things went awry till the transtector Nightscream had borrowed went on a rampage. Available with the e-HOBBY-exclusive Legends Convobat figure, Ape X Arms is a redeco of Titans Return Apeface's accessory, in Optimal Optimus's colors. Convobat and Megalligator can ride Ape X Arms in robot mode. Ape X Arms can also transform into a 5 mm gun for larger Titans Return or any Legends Headmaster figures to wield, or combine with either of the two Headmasters to form a jet.

As a redeco of a Titan Master vehicle accessory, care must be taken with the gun mode's handle: the handle fits tightly in many 5 mm-compatible closed hands, and combined with the handle's lack of metal pin running through the joint, removing it by force causes the handle to pop out of the joint.

This figure was repurposed as the Legends World Optimus Primal after contracting Transformers sickness for the second time in the Legends comic.

The figure was repurposed again as a member of the Assistant Corps in the Generations Selects Special Comic.

• As Ape X Arms exists in the same universe as the later introduced, but chronologically earlier, orange member of the Assistant Corps, it's unclear if the former was created in the likeness of the latter by Straxus.
