Rippersnapper has a massive inferiority complex; so he takes it out on just about everything else he deems inferior: animals, Autobots, people, Autobots, and quite frequently Autobots. Ultimately though, all these inferior traits he finds in others are just reflections of the traits he finds inferior in himself. He especially hates the odor of carbon-based lifeforms, so that means he just hates the smell of himself?

Although Rippersnapper is physically the weakest of the five Terrorcons, he is nonetheless a valued Decepticon as he combines with his teammates to form Abominus.

Rippersnapper can combine with the other Terrorcons to form Abominus.

Later on, the Terrorcons were seen under the service of the Quintessons. When Dirk Manus and his Technobot escorts were on their way through space, Abominus swooped down and attacked, shooting them from the sky. The automatic timer in Abominus, placed within by the Quintessons, forced Abominus to separate into his Terrorcon compenments. The team was upset they couldn't finish the task of destroying the Autobots, and Rippersnapper was quick to show the most hostility, not wanting to stop now. Unable to indulge their violent impulses against the world as a group, most of the Terrorcons started fighting each other. Money Is Everything (episode)

Scorponok devised a scheme to harvest plasma energy from the planet Mars by setting off a series of explosives that would utterly destroy the planet, releasing its stored energies.
Rippersnapper finds nothing but fault in himself - and in everything else in the universe. This toothy bundle of insecurity can smell flaws like blood in the water, and he's all too happy to point them out to everyone in earshot. Every plan is doomed, every ally is incompetent, every enemy is detestable. And Rippersnapper himself is, in his own view, just as broken as the rest of the universe.
Everyone suffers from Rippersnapper’s worldview, including Rippersnapper himself. Convinced that everything inferior deserves contempt, he is quick to express that hatred through claws, jaws, and plasma bolts. At the core of it all is his own self-loathing, as he suffers from intense insecurities. He is quick to detect mistakes and point them out with glee. In his eyes, the universe is broken, and he is no exception.Source:Transformers:_Earth_Wars/2018#Rippersnapper
This is not only sad for Rippersnapper, but for everyone else as well, since Rippersnapper hates everything he finds inferior and is all too eager to express that hatred through claws, jaws, and plasma bolts.

John Warden and Aaron Gray (Hasbro)
:Power of the Primes "Terrorcon Rippersnapper" is an all-new Deluxe mold that transforms into a bipedal shark-like creature based on his original toy. Rippersnapper can also convert into a limb for any Combiner Wars-style Combiner (or into one of Legends Godbomber's legs), although he was meant to combine with Hun-Gurrr to form Abominus. Though based on his G1 design, Rippersnapper's leg mode is flipped from the original toy, showcasing the shark head in front rather than hiding it in back. Like all Power of the Primes Deluxe Class figures, he comes with Prime Armor with a spot for a Prime Master (and by extension, a Titan Master, Enigma, or Matrix core) and can form a combiner hand. He includes a piece that can fill the gap in the armor or be held as a gun. An undocumented feature of the toy is that the cannons on his back can be removed and placed in any 5 mm peg hole, which, in turn, means you can put any number of things onto his back. Go wild. His Prime Armor can also rest on his beast-mode rump.

: Released in the second wave of Power of the Primes Deluxes, "Terrorcon Rippersnapper" transforms into a bipedal shark-like creature based on his original toy, but this time wih an opening shark-jaw! Like all Power of the Primes Deluxe Class figures, he comes with a piece of Prime Armor with a spot for a Prime Master (and by extension, a Titan Master, Enigma, or Matrix core) that can form a combiner hand. The Prime Master port has a filler piece which can be held as a pistol when the port is in use. The toy also includes two shoulder cannons which attach to the figure with 5 mm posts and feature smaller pegs for a Prime Master to stand on. These small pegs (and the instructions) indicate that the shoulder cannons are attached upside-down in-package. Two more of these pegs are located just behind the shark fin. Meanwhile, two rectangular pegs can be used to attach his Prime Armor to his beast-mode rump.

: Rippersnapper can also convert into a limb for any Combiner Wars-style Combiner (or into one of Legends Godbomber's legs), although he was meant to combine with Hun-Gurrr to form Abominus. :Similar to Slug and Sludge, the peghole on Rippersnapper's feet used to attach the combiner hands or feet is very thinly molded and easily broken. Extreme caution should be taken when plugging anything into it or manipulating what may have already been inserted, especially since unlike Slug and Sludge, Rippersnapper's combiner peghole pulls double duty for both combiner hands and feet. Should the plastic snap, its tension will be severely reduced and may lead to the combiner hands or feet falling out. In some cases, it may simply not be possible to avoid breaking the peghole aside from not using it. Unlike Blot, Rippersnapper lacks pins that connect his shoulder joints to the body, meaning that they can be pulled off without much force.

The name or term "Rippersnapper" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Rippersnapper (disambiguation).
Rippersnapper is a Decepticon Terrorcon from the Generation 1 continuity family.
grrrrsnortCANDYGRAM!!

As Hun-Gurrr's hapless second-in-command,[1] Rippersnapper has a massive inferiority complex; taking it out on just about everything else he deems inferior: animals, Autobots, people, Autobots, and quite frequently Autobots.

Once again, I'm surrounded by inadequates and incompetents!

Rippersnapper was first spotted with his fellow Terrorcons inside Unicron's head. Galvatron used them to blast into Unicron so he could retrieve more anti-electrons for an attack against the Autobots. Rippersnapper and his consorts did a decent job in keeping the Autobots at bay, but were quickly forced into retreating when Grimlock finished building the Technobots, and gave them the ability to merge into Computron. Money Is Everything Rippersnapper and the other Terrorcons battled the Technobots over Dr. Morgan's new heat resistant alloys. In 2011, Rippersnapper and the Terrorcons journeyed to Cybertron over the long-abandoned Decepticon space bridge. They were part of the first wave of Galvatron's siege, hoping to gain control of Vector Sigma. Rippersnapper's team combined into Abominus to battle Superion. Rippersnapper gave orders to the team during Galvatron's briefing, while Hun-Gurrr was mysteriously absent. Four Warriors Come out of the Sky Later on, Abominus teamed up with his fellow combiners to wage war on their Autobot counterparts. Their victory seemed assured until the Battleship Maximus swooped in and scattered the Decepticon combiners. They barely survived the encounter. The Mystery of Planet Master On Earth, Rippersnapper and the Terrorcons intervened on Hot Rod's search for the Matrix of Leadership. Chromedome and the Autobot Headmasters kept the Terrorcons busy so that Hot Rod could complete his mission. Even after the Terrorcons formed Abominus, the Headmasters stood against them, and the arrival of Computron swung the odds firmly on the Autobots' side. Abominus was last seen with his head buried in the sand, being kicked in the side by Computron. Birth of the Fantastic Double Prime

When Galvatron launched a metal-warping meteorite at the Autobots on Athenia, he brought along Rippersnapper and the Terrorcons to occupy the Autobot forces. Linking up as Abominus, they once again battled Computron and the Headmasters. Approach of the Demon Meteorite

Scorponok devised a scheme to harvest plasma energy from the planet Mars by setting off a series of explosives that would utterly destroy the planet, releasing its stored energies. Rippersnapper and the Terrorcons were responsible for planting the bombs. Hun-Gurrr was spotted by Daniel Witwicky, Wheelie and Shouki of the Trainbots, but the other Terrorcons managed to take them hostage. Hun-Gurrr left Rippersnapper and Sinnertwin in charge of the hostages, while he took the other Terrorcons to finish planting the charges. They caught an amusing show as Wheelie and Danny fought in their cell, but the tussle was actually a feint to hide a homing signal Danny sent out to his father. The Headmasters soon arrived and drove off Sinnertwin and Rippersnapper, freeing the hostages. Explosion on Mars!! Maximus Is in Danger Regrouping, the Terrorcons managed to get two of the three sites set before being set upon by Raiden and the Headmasters. By forming Abominus, Rippersnapper's team held their own until Scorponok arrived with his mighty Transtector, MegaZarak. The giant scorpion occupied the Autobots long enough for the Terrorcons to finish their work, and Mars was consumed by the resultant atomic inferno. Explosion on Mars!! MegaZarak Appears

Soon after, Rippersnapper and the Terrorcons joined Sixshot the returning Galvatron on an energy raid. They sought to prevent the Autobots from re-energizing the distant world of Sandra, and steal the energy for themselves. Rippersnapper's team formed Abominus for yet another in a series of battles against Computron. SOS from Planet Sandra Rippersnapper was present when Galvatron announced his plans to leave the galaxy and loot the energy resources of other solar systems. Daniel Faces His Biggest Crisis Ever!!

After an extended mission in space, Rippersnapper returned with Galvatron and the other Decepticons, setting up shop on Earth under Sixshot's command. He joined an enormous offensive against the Autobots' facility in Miami, drawing out the troops from Autobot City so that Sixshot could kill Ultra Magnus. Body-slamming Computron as Abominus was just icing on the cake. Ultra Magnus Dies!! The warfare on Earth continued, as Rippersnapper and the Terrorcons assembled as Abominus in part of a five-fold simultaneous strike on Autobot interests engineered by Sixshot. The Emperor of Destruction Vanishes on an Iceberg As Scorponok assumed control of the Decepticons again, Rippersnapper was seen at a rally being held in his honor on Chaar. Rippersnapper and the Terrorcons later joined a Decepticon strike on the Kamchatka Peninsula, seeking to gain control of the Pacific Ring of Fire. I Risk My Life for Earth

As Scorponok abandoned Earth in favor of conquering Master, Rippersnapper was one of his many troops seen attacking the planet's fortifications. Miraculous Warriors, Targetmasters (Part 2) Later on, he guarded the Decepticons' cavernous base while the G-Metal enhanced Zarak Shield was being constructed. The Zarak Shield Turns the Tide As part of Abominus, Rippersnapper participated in the final battle with the Autobots at the North Pole. He escaped into space with the rest of Scorponok's Decepticons. The Final Showdown on Earth (Part 2)

Generations Selects Special Comic
[edit]

Rippersnapper and the other Terrorcons were enlisted by the Quintessons to attack the Selectors, Autobots, and Decepticons on behalf of the humans, having just been powered up by Angolmois Energy. Volcanicus comic 2 Rippersnapper acted as a sort of general among the Sharkticons due to his vague resemblance to the Quintesson mechs. He boldly declared extermination to all Transformers and Selectors as he chewed on the Autobot combiners Volcanicus and Computron. The Terrorcon soldier later attacked Red Alert and attempted to hit Inferno with his Angolmois Ball, only to be blocked by a wall of Doublecrossers.

Rippersnapper then unhesitatingly attacked his former commander at Hun-Gurrr's orders. He was the first Terrorcon to realize that their Angolmois Energy was being sucked away by Megatron, prompting Hun-Gurrr to request the Quintessons their permission to combine with his troops. After Hun-Gurrr received the Terrorbreaster off his masters, Rippersnapper combined with his brethren into Abominus. Megatron used his stockpiled Angolmois Energy to evolve into Megatron Omega and fought back against the feral combiner, but seemingly lost the battle as Abominus blew a hole in his chest. Abominus comic 1 Abominus briefly used Scramble Power with other Combiners to form Abomenaticus, but Rippersnapper and the other Terrorcons soon recombined as the true Abominus. Abominus comic 2

The Great Transformer War
[edit]

Rippersnapper and the Terrorcons were defeated in battle as Abominus by Computron. They switched tactics and split into their individual modes to spray Computron with "Cohesive Control Liquid", forcing him onto the Decepticon side. The Technobots were eventually freed when Spike Witwicky blasted them with a counter-spray. The now clear-minded Computron then proceeded to crush the individual Terrorcons. The Great Transformer War #2

Rippersnapper and Skullcruncher oversaw a giant robot squid attacking the Autobot energy bases under the sea. They tried to have their squid crush the Trainbots when they arrived to investigate. The Trainbots separated and lured the Decepticons to the surface, where they merged to form Raiden. The Raiden Tornado Swing defeated the squid, sending it flying into Skullcruncher, Rippersnapper, and their Sharkticon troopers. The Headmasters #3

Hey it's always Shark Week SOMEWHERE!

RRRrrrippersnapper and the Terrorcons came to Nebulos with Scorponok in search of Fortress Maximus and his band. They got involved in local acts of destruction, targeting the resort of Splendora along with the Horrorcons. While the other Terrorcons were having fun, Rippersnapper seemed more serious than the others: dedicated to proving how powerful they were to the Nebulans, and disgusted at the idea of organic life instead of mechanical. The Decepticons were soon driven off by Computron and the Autobot Headmasters, though. Love and Steel! Later, Rippersnapper joined Scorponok and the Terrorcons in confronting the Autobot Targetmasters at Nebulos's Nursery. Interestingly, Rippersnapper was the only Terrorcon waiting around in his beast mode when Zarak came calling on the Terrorcons for the mission. At the Nursery, Rippersnapper lobbed several missiles towards the Autobots, only to cause serious damage to the botanical gardens instead. Seeing the building they came to protect being destroyed, the Autobots fled rather than risk causing further damage. Brothers in Armor!!

When the Decepticon Civil War broke out, Rippersnapper and the rest of Scorponok's crew followed Horri-Bull into battle with Ratbat's forces. He was seen fighting Octane in single combat. Cold War! Shortly thereafter, Rippersnapper and the Terrorcons died while fighting the Underbase-powered Starscream in Buenos Aires. Dark Star

In 2009, an apocalyptic time storm was raging through space while Rippersnapper and the Terrorcons were working with Soundwave on Earth to extract energy from the planet's core. Bored with the construction process, Rippersnapper and the others went out to play among the humans, taking advantage of the fear and doomsday warnings spreading through the populace. He may have even squished a sidewalk preacher! Anyway, Hun-Grrr came to collect his minions and they returned to the extraction site, only to be attacked by the Autobots. Rippersnapper left for cover, but that only left the Autobots with a clear shot at their true target: the laser bore. Soundwave and the Terrorcons tracked the Autobots back to their trans-time dimensional portal, and were briefly involved in the Time Wars of 1989 before returning to the future. Time Wars

In the 21st century, Rippersnapper and the Terrorcons were repaired and rejoined the Decepticons under Bludgeon's control. One day, they were working in the armory when Hun-Grrr summoned them for battle. Rippersnapper and the others joined as Abominus and fought against their fellow Decepticons without even knowing why Hun-Grrr was angry. They ended up getting impaled by Piranacon, blasted into stasis lock, and taken off to wherever Crankcase and Gutcruncher dispose of old waste.

After a blow from Rack'n'Ruin's hammer brought Abominus crashing down, Rippersnapper and the other Terrorcons separated to battle the Wreckers individually but the Autobots disengaged and retreated as the explosives they had already laid inside the base detonated. The Terrorcons and Cyclonus intercepted Ultra Magnus's team during the search for Metascan Alpha. The Terrorcons united into Abominus, but the Autobots ignored them and continued with their mission. A short time later, Abominus came under attack from the Destructons and was blasted apart. The Terrorcons began a retreat and found themselves being aided by Ultra Magnus, resulting in Cyclonus agreeing to a truce between the two factions. The War Against the Destructons, Chapter 1 of 3

G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers

[edit]

Rippersnapper attended a Decepticon meeting arranged by Serpent O.R., and seemed relatively uninterested in everything that happened, including Headstrong trying to attack Hun-Grrr. Soon enough, Serpent O.R. arrived and convinced Rippersnapper to join his army by plugging his tentacles into the Terrorcon's visor-plate and feeding him raw data about Serpent O.R.'s "father". First appearance: Spotlight: Sixshot

When Scorponok ousted Megatron in the early days of the war, the Terrorcons were disappointed that he had punished their former leader with mere exile, and set out to finish the job. Wreckage They tracked Megatron down on Junkion, where Rippersnapper was excited to get the first bite of him... but instead became the first to fall after getting his face kicked in. Defeated, the Terrorcons recognized Megatron's power and pledged their allegiance to him. During the war, Rippersnapper became a fan of Sixshot. He and the other Terrorcons were deployed to Mumu-Obscura, but were taken prisoner by the Reapers to lure Sixshot to the planet. The Reapers offered membership to their little club so long as Sixshot destroyed the Terrorcons, to which Rippersnapper reacted with shock. After Sixshot declined the invitation, the Reapers allowed the Decepticons to leave in peace. Spotlight: Sixshot

Years later, Rippersnapper was among the Decepticons captured on Temptoria by the Lost Light's crew and brought back to Cybertron, where they were broken out and attacked Megatron's trial. Despite his best attempt at keeping Broadside at bay, the attempt failed due to Megatron's refusal to escape in the confusion. Predestination: A Beginner's Guide Six months later, Rippersnapper, Cutthroat, and Sinnertwin were assigned by Starscream to guard his Regenesis ore mine within Metroplex, challenging Windblade and her entourage during their investigation. Everyone suffers from Rippersnapper’s worldview, including Rippersnapper himself. Convinced that everything inferior deserves contempt, he is quick to express that hatred through claws, jaws, and plasma bolts. The Transformers

[edit]

Jabberjaw's fate after the Neptunes split up.
 • Rippersnapper (Terrorcon, 1987)
 • Hasbro ID number: TR1
 • Takara ID number: D-80
 • Accessories: "Cyclone gun", "voice-guided missile launcher"
Released in the fourth year of Hasbro's US The Transformers toyline (third year in Europe and in Takara's Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers line), Terrorcon Rippersnapper transforms into a weird upright bipedal shark creature. His finned twin missile launcher weapon mounts on his back in this mode.
He can form the leg or arm of any Scramble City-type combiner, though he is nominally Abominus's left arm. He can also attach to Metroplex's robot mode.
There is a later-run variant of Rippersnapper, released in 1988, which not only lacks a rubsign, but has been retooled to fill in the indent on his beast noggin where the rubsign would have gone.
There is also a packaging variant for all four small Terrorcons, which included a random bonus Decepticon "Decoy" mini-figurine.

 • Abominus (Gift set, 1987)
 • Takara ID number: D-84
 • Accessories: "Cyclone gun", "voice-guided missile launcher"
Rippersnapper was also available in a gift set with the rest of the Terrorcons. All of the Terrorcons are identical to their individual releases, although it is unknown if the versions without the rubsign indents were released in this format. (It's not terribly likely though.)

Prime

[edit]
Garchomp, I choose you!
 • Predacon Rippersnapper (Cyberverse Legion, 2013)
 • Series / Number: 3 / 009
 • Accessories: "Electrocharge Bow"
Prime Rippersnapper was repurposed as the original Rippersnapper by the Legends game event "Unleash the Beasts" and IDW's Windblade series.
Part of the third wave of Prime: Beast Hunters Series 3 Cyberverse Legion Class toys, "Predacon Rippersnapper" transforms into a bipedal lizard creature, and comes with an "Electrocharge Bow". His robot mode hands can hold the weapon via the latter's multiple 3 mm posts, and he and the weapon feature numerous 3mm mounting points.
Though not called out in the instructions, Rippersnapper combines with Cyberverse Twinstrike, Hun-Gurrr, Windrazor, and Blight to form Abominus, with Rippersnapper forming the right leg. His back kibble in this mode can be positioned lower so it sits slightly above the beast mode arms to make a more convincing foot.
Because of the way his head is attached with a not-quite-C joint, it's very easy to knock loose. In fact, it'll fall off every time you touch it. You should probably resign yourself to losing it sooner or later.
His bow accessory was also used, in varying colors, by Bumblebee, Airachnid, Windrazor, and Cindersaur. This toy was redecoed into Beast Hunters: Predacons Rising Cindersaur, Go! Jurara, Age of Extinction Grimlock, and Transformers (2014) Grimlock.

Power of the Primes

[edit]
"Give it here, don't leave me hanging."
 • Terrorcon Rippersnapper (Deluxe Class, 2018)
 • TakaraTomy ID number: PP-21
 • TakaraTomy release date: August 25, 2018
 • Accessories: Two cannons, Prime Armor/combiner hand, Prime Master gap filler/gun
 • Known designers: John Warden and Aaron Gray (Hasbro)
Released in the second wave of Power of the Primes Deluxes, "Terrorcon Rippersnapper" transforms into a bipedal shark-like creature based on his original toy, but this time wih an opening shark-jaw!
Rippersnapper can also convert into a limb for any Combiner Wars-style Combiner (or into one of Legends Godbomber's legs), although he was meant to combine with Hun-Gurrr to form Abominus. Though based on his original design, Rippersnapper's leg mode is flipped from the original toy, showcasing the shark head in front rather than hiding it in back.
Similar to Slug and Sludge, the peghole on Rippersnapper's feet used to attach the combiner hands or feet is very thinly molded and easily broken. Rippersnapper also lacks pins that connect his shoulder joints to the body, meaning that they can be pulled off without much force.
Rippersnapper is the only Power of the Primes Terrorcon to be shown in robot mode on his package art.
Rippersnapper was slightly retooled into Generations Selects Overbite and Sea Phantom. He was also heavily retooled into Power of the Primes Terrorcon Blot, who was further retooled into Generations Selects Lobclaw, and yet again into Gulf and Coelagon. Whew!

 • Release date: April 17, 2021
 • TakaraTomy ID number: TT-GS12
 • Hasbro ID number: TT-GS05
 • Accessories: Two cannons
Initially developed by TakaraTomy, Generations Selects Rippersnapper is a more cartoon-accurate redeco of his Power of the Primes release. The biggest deco differences this toy has from the prior coloration are the silver border on his chest sigil, his combiner peg changing from blue to off-white, off-white biceps, and an overall darker shade of blue plastic. Additionally, the red spot on his robot chest has been omitted, blue accents have been added to the sides of his robot crotch, and the accents on his robot knees have been changed from red to black.
Additionally, Rippersnapper's combiner peghole has been slightly retooled to fix the fragility and breakage issues from the Power of the Primes release.
He was only available in a massive box set of Terrorcons, along with Blot, Cutthroat, Hun-Gurrr and Sinnertwin. This set was a TakaraTomy Mall exclusive in Japan, with a small-ish number imported and made for sale through Hasbro Pulse; originally slated for release on March 27, Abominus's release was pushed back to April 17.
