The War for Cybertron Trilogy toyline uses a series of military insignia to denote each Autobot and Decepticon characters' position within their armies; while each faction has unique designs for their insignia, they follow a common system.

Each insignia consists of three parts: the division (ground, air, sea, or space); the unit (infantry, intelligence/espionage, medical, engineering/applied sciences, special ops/black ops, artillery/weapons, or transport); and the rank (private/raider, sergeant, specialist, captain, major, or general).
