*''Revenge of the Fallen''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s depiction of Egypt is highly inaccurate: Optimus, Megatron, Starscream, and The Fallen take their fight from the Pyramids of Giza to the Temple of Luxor, which are ''more than 300 miles away''.
*''Revenge of the Fallen''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s depiction of Egypt Egypt and Jordan, more specifically the pyramids and Petra, is somewhat different compared to the real world: in the real world the pyramids are located on the Giza plateau 70 miles from the coast of the Gulf of Suez, which forms the most northern part of the western Red Sea. In the film however, the location of the pyramids is repeatedly stated in dialogue and shown via maps to be in the {{Gulf_of_Aqaba}}, the most northern part of the eastern Red Sea. Specifically on the most northern shore 3 miles to the west. Likewise the location of Petra also differs between fiction and reality: the real Petra is located roughly 50 miles north of the Gulf of Aqaba but in the film it is presented as being in the coastal mountains just to the east of the gulf.
*Considering both the Pyramids and the temple are famous tourist attractions, they’re both pretty devoid of, y’know, tourists.
*On Simmons's GPS satellite image of the Gulf of Aqaba Egypt and Jordan are clearly marked in white text but Israel is not, implying it does not yet exist. Israel is however mentioned in Age of Extinction, suggesting that it was founded at a much later date compared to the real world.
*Furthermore, the movie gives the impression that the Pyramids of Giza are located near the coast the soldiers and tanks deployed from hovercraft arrive at the battle site almost immediately. In reality, the closest sea shore, the tip of the Red Sea, is still over 70 miles / 110 kilometers away from the Pyramids. Worse, when the rail gun is fired, a monitor screen on board the U.S.S. ''Kidd'' shows footage of the pyramids with the ocean in the foreground, making it appear like they're no more than a mile or two away from the shore. Worse still, this is immediately followed by a shot of the pyramids that shows nothing but desert in the direction the rail gun shot is coming from.
*The temple of Luxor is used to portray a fictional structure located next to the pyramid of Khafre and is where the final battle between Optimus Prime, Megatron and The Fallen was filmed.
*Contrary to popular belief there is in fact water visible in the precise direction the railgun shot is coming from. If one looks hard enough that is.

Damn tourists.

Ah, Egypt, cradle of human civilization, birthplace of culture, writing and art!

It is home to the pyramids! 2,500 years ago, these structures were the most ancient of the Seven Wonders of the World, and they are the only one of the Seven that still exist today.

(They attract craziness like you wouldn't believe.)

Revenge of the Fallen film

Around 17,000 BC, The Fallen was in Egypt (which was then a green, fertile valley) organizing the building of a Star Harvester. The other Primes took pity on the primitive humans and stole the Matrix of Leadership that powered the harvester, thereby rendering it useless and saving the planet. Many years later, the humans built the Great Pyramid of Giza over the harvester. Defiance issue 2

In 2009 AD, Jetfire took Sam Witwicky, Mikaela Banes, Seymour Simmons, Leo Spitz, Wheelie, Bumblebee, Skids, and Mudflap to Wadi Rum Egypt (which had assumed its more familiar desert appearance by that point) via a space bridge. The group stayed at the pyramids, where Sam figured out the Tomb of the Primes and the Matrix was hidden in Petra, Jordan. Simmons got past the border authorities, who were ordered to arrest Sam after The Fallen put the price of humanity's existence on his head, by passing them off as his family: it also turned out the border guard had visited New York City, where Simmons noted he was from, and liked the place.

Too big for England to steal.

After finding the Matrix, the group returned to the pyramids, where NEST and the Decepticons had landed in a nearby town, readying for battle. Devastator emerged in a quarry and climbed up the pyramid to excavate the harvester, while Megatron, Starscream, Ravage, and Constructicon clones attempted to claim the Matrix from Sam. Soundwave had jammed NEST's phone signals, but Simmons retrieved a radio from a downed Jordanian helicopter which he used to order the USS Kidd to fire her experimental rail gun on Devastator, and to get reinforcements. Sam was able to resurrect Optimus with the Matrix before The Fallen snatched it and powered his machine. Optimus and Jetfire combined and blew up the harvester before finally killing The Fallen. The Last Knight film

A couple years later, Egypt was among the many locations affected by the approach of Cybertron. A chunk of the metallic planet hit a pyramid, tearing it asunder and revealing the Star Harvester... again. The Last Knight

Notes

  • Revenge of the Fallen's depiction of Egypt Egypt and Jordan, more specifically the pyramids and Petra, is somewhat different compared to the real world: in the real world the pyramids are located on the Giza plateau 70 miles from the coast of the Gulf of Suez, which forms the most northern part of the western Red Sea. In the film however, the location of the pyramids is repeatedly stated in dialogue and shown via maps to be in the Template:Gulf of Aqaba, the most northern part of the eastern Red Sea. Specifically on the most northern shore 3 miles to the west. Likewise the location of Petra also differs between fiction and reality: the real Petra is located roughly 50 miles north of the Gulf of Aqaba but in the film it is presented as being in the coastal mountains just to the east of the gulf.
  • On Simmons's GPS satellite image of the Gulf of Aqaba Egypt and Jordan are clearly marked in white text but Israel is not, implying it does not yet exist. Israel is however mentioned in Age of Extinction, suggesting that it was founded at a much later date compared to the real world.
  • The temple of Luxor is used to portray a fictional structure located next to the pyramid of Khafre and is where the final battle between Optimus Prime, Megatron and The Fallen was filmed.
