Faced with semi-corporeal enemies unaffected by his attacks, Straxus, chief engineer of the Primus Vanguard, concluded that only the power of a Matrix could defeat them. This proved true when Blue arrived and effortlessly cut them down with his Matrix Sword, joking that Straxus's usual pompous attitude was nowhere to be found before, to Straxus's shock, lending him the sword. Blue showboated a bit and then vaporized the Specters with the Blue Pèlerinage, a mighty α Matrix-empowered blast from his cannon. The fighting done, he combined the α Matrix and Matrix Sword into a beacon to summon the rest of the Vanguard. Blue Big Convoy comic

Straxus retrieved the sword from the valiant leader's corpse and joined forces with the upgraded Ultra Megatron Omega. God Neptune comic 1

Not long thereafter, the Blue Order was torn asunder, its members driven to attack each other by the program secretly implanted into them by one of the group's Straxuses. Blue realized the betrayal, and the other Straxus—Director Straxus—mocked him and ranted that the previous commander, Brightes, shouldn't have passed him over for Supreme Commander in favor of Blue. Refusing to harm his comrades, Blue fell on his own Matrix Sword. Straxus liberated the blade from his former leader's body and offered his fealty to the freshly upgraded Megatron Omega in order to bring about the destruction of the Primus and the other Orders. God Neptune comic 1

Having gathered five of the Primus Vanguard's Matrices in the subsequent commotion, God Neptune set out to use their power to seize the Purple Matrix and the Silver Matrix (carrying with it the blue Star Power of the α Matrix, also pilfered from Blue) from the now allied Megatron Omega and Purple Wicked Convoy. Straxus attempted a swipe with the Matrix Sword to defend his new liege,  but was disarmed by God Neptune  with the Matrix Saber. When the two prepared to recover Convobat's transtector, they found their ship under attack from Straxus's Rollermaster Corps, and Magna Convoy headed out to fight them while urging Convobat to flee with the ship.

Confronted by Straxus himself, Magna Convoy held his ground and declared that while he had previously lost everything and had nothing to fight for, he now saw the light of hope in Convobat and was determined to protect him. Straxus was unimpressed and destroyed Magna's hand, but his ensuing barrage of missiles is blocked by Convobat who swooped in on a shield vehicle and returned the Matrix Sword to Magna Convoy. While keeping the Rollermaster Corps busy, Convobat told Magna Convoy that he was the one entrusted with the sword, though Magna just wanted to know why he didn't escape when he had the chance. Convobat explained that Magna Convoy's stubbornness reminded him of his least favorite aspect of a friend, and he felt compelled to confront that stubbornness rather than oblige it.

The return of the Matrix Sword didn't worry Straxus, who mocked Magna Convoy's similarity to his late leader and told him that even if they are granted power, lifeforms like him didn't have the ambition to use it and must be led by someone like Straxus. He fired a powerful blast, but to his shock Magna Convoy, who had accepted that he was entrusted the Matrix Sword for a reason and was now able to protect himself upon its powerful light. The blade regenerated along with his hand and he unleashed its full power on Straxus. Cybertron Magna Convoy

An elegant weapon, for a more civilized age.

The Matrix Sword (マトリクスソード Matorikusu Sōdo) is an ancient weapon passed down through the generations of the Blue Order as the badge of office of its leader. In times of legend the α Matrix was placed within its hilt to create a mighty blade of Blue Star Power. Stolen by the traitor Straxus, its recovery is now the prime goal of Magna Convoy.

That Nemesis sword getting into the Vanguard is clearly nepotism at work
A redeco of the sword included with Titans Return Voyager Class Alpha Trion, the Matrix Sword is included with Legends Magna Convoy.
This mold was also used to make Leo Prime's Ancient Sword, as well as the Ancient Sword of Siege Nemesis Prime.
The 5mm peg in its hilt allows the owner to reproduce the combination with the α Matrix seen in its various comics appearances, should they own a Legends Blue Big Convoy.
