- Alligatron is a Beastformer from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Alligatron[1] (アリゲトロン Arigetoron) is the leader of the Decepticon-aligned Beastformers, anthropomorphic animal aliens from planet Beast. He is king of Lennonia, over Emperor Killer Fish, and was born in the Bow River. He was once a traveling bodyguard-for-hire whose battles earned him a reputation as a "wandering murder weapon", but he later changed his life around and settled down as a pacifist. Well, until becoming a Decepticon, at least. Alligatron can spit laser beams by grinding stones between his teeth, and with his telescoping Allistretcher weapon in hand he's more powerful than a tank. He's also known by the nickname Alli (アリ Ari).
Sometimes there are lots of him.

Galvatron and the Decepticons came to planet Beast to enslave the population and force them to work on a mysterious engineering project. To make the task easier, they formed an alliance with Alligatron and his soldiers to round up the populace.
During a rebel attack on the Decepticon stronghold led by White Leo, Alligatron ordered his soldiers (including another Alligatron) to kill all of the rebels and leave no prisoners. Later, when the Autobot Transformers arrived on Beast, a spying Snakebomb reported their presence to the leader Alligatron, who in turn relayed the information to Galvatron.
When Wheelie and Daniel tried to infiltrate the stronghold, an Alligatron was standing guard at the entrance.
Later, an Alligatron alerted the other Decepticons of the approaching Autobot Transformers. He fled the scene when Rodimus Prime shot the stronghold and sent rubble flying. Rebellion on Planet Beast

Alligatron led Predaking and the Sharkticons against the heroic Beasts on their home planet. His slaughter was interrupted by the Autobot Headmasters of Justice, but Predaking managed to capture Highbrow and Brainstorm for the Decepticons. Alligatron suggested they use the Autobots as bait for White Leo and the rest of the Headmasters. The arrival of Raiden and the Trainbots swayed the tides of battle, however, and Galvatron and the Decepticons abandoned Beast, leaving Alligatron to his fate. The Decisive Battle of Planet Beast!

Toys
Transformers: Beastformers

- Alligatron (Beastformer, 1987)
- Beast ID number: 15
- Accessories: Blade-weapon
- Part of the first series of Takara's Beastformers toys, Alligatron is an anthropomorphic albino alligator in dark olive robotic armor. The rubsign on his chest reveals one of three symbols; Fire, Water or Wood.
- He was re-released in the subsequent second and third series; while the toy proper was not changed, the packaging and packed-in bio card was. The Series 1 release comes in a generic purple-grid "Destron Beastformer" box, with a purple-grid bio card with a painted character image on the front, though there was a random chance of his card being replaced by the rare "Holography Mirror" card. Series 2 came in a green-grid generic "Destron Beastformer" box, with the bio card putting the painted image on a jungle backdrop. Series 3's box was unchanged, but the bio card replaced the painted image with a simpler line-art image, first used in Hasbro's Battle Beasts cast poster. In the green-box releases, depending on the "Pack" he came in, there was a chance of his bio card being replaced with a rare "Secret Photo", "Bewitching Serpent Seal", or "VS Holography Mirror" card.
- Alligatron (Gahsapon Beastformer, 1987)
- Beast ID number: 15
- Accessories: Weapon
- Many of the first-series Beastformers were also sold in gashapon capsule machines, Alligatron included. This version is identical to the regularly-released boxed version, including the randomized rubsign, except the gashapons appear to have randomized weapons (or just crummy quality control).
- There is also a rare all-white/cream version of Alligatron; these rare versions can vary in how white they actually are, and it's uncertain if that's how they started or if some have simply yellowed with age. These white versions tend to be very expensive on the secondary market.
- Burstsun Special Set (Multi-pack, 1987)
- Beast ID number: 15
- Accessories: Blade-weapon
- The first Beastformers multipack contained nine normal figures, then one of two special editions of the faction leaders: either a clear plastic "Ghost Alligatron" (ゴーストアリゲトロン Gōsuto Arigetoron), or White Leo with the "Burstsun" rubsign. The box contained no windows, so you didn't know which of the leaders you got until you opened it up. Despite the change to the toy, Ghost Alligatron came with his normal version's bio card.
- The other nine standard Beastformers in the set were Black Jaguar, Būpink, Crowmax, Dog Hunter, Dream Eater, Earthhog, Mingo Kid, Muskhorn, and Slo.
Beastformers
- Alligatron (Beastformer, 1988)
- Beast ID number: 15
- Accessories: "Allistretcher" MVP Weapon
- Re-released in the Transformers-less Beastformers sequel series, Alligatron was given a straight re-release with new packaging and a new, more filled-out bio card with corrected coloring. This new card also gave his weapon, now branded an "MVP Weapon", the name "Allistretcher" (アリストレッチャー Arisutorecchā).
- The initial early releases of this series had the chance for any Beastformer to have the rare Burstsun symbol; we'll probably never know if Alligatron was ever actually one of them. Later in the run, the "mood ring" styled rubsigns were replaced with new rubsigns that revealed full-color Fire/Wood/Water images on black backdrops. (These rubsign variants also happened at the same time in the Hasbro Battle Beast version of the line.)
- Alligatron (Gashapon/candy-toy Beastformer, 1988)
- Meiji ID number: 15
- Accessories: "Bomb Scissors" weapon
- A small, super-deformed, articulation-free version of Alligatron was sold both as a gashapon capsule prize by Takara, and as a candy toy with "chocoballs" through the candy/ snack company Meiji. The candy toy version came with a bio/data card with its own role-playing rules, using the old Transformers-era painted character art.
- This stumpy lil fellow could be found in red, blue or green plastic, representing the Fire, Water and Wood elements (even though he still had a rubsign). All of the Meji Beastformers comes with a different Beastformer's weapon attached to their shoulder by a snippable sprue, common for inexpensive toys of that nature. Alligatron came with Bombsheep's "Bomb Scissors", while his "Allistretcher" weapon came with Zebra Ball.
Notes
- The Hasbro release of "Gruesome Gator" was similarly (eventually) available with both styles of rubsign.
- Kreon Alligatron uses an extensively "painted" beast head part of the type first used by Razorclaw and other Predacon Kreons, and wields the curved blade first used by Insecticon and Rampage.
Foreign names
- English: Gruesome Gator
