The Fact File was a feature of the early Marvel UK comics, introduced in issue #3. The first set of Fact Files were little more than the characters packaging bio accompanied by their box art and covered characters from the "first wave" of 1984 toys. Another feature of the early issues were the "From the Fact Files" comics, which featured stories from real-life history, with an emphasis on derring-do.

The Fact Files were given a revamp in issue #25 with the introduction of the Fact File Interface, which included the text from that character's Universe profile alongside their box art and were sometimes printed two to a page. At the same time, the comic would also print the occasional Fact File featuring characters that were prominent in the fiction. The feature was discontinued altogether with the introduction of the Transformers AtoZ in issue #89.

Notes

  • The Transformation contents page spells it "FACT-FILE INTERFACE" while the page itself has the words "FACT FILE" repeated in the background with no hyphen and "INTER FACE" as separate words.
  • The "From the Fact Files" comics also suffered from inconsistent titling: the contents pages of issues 15 and 19 called it "From the Transformers Fact Files", issue 17's said "From our Transformers Fact Files", the strip from issue 15 ran a banner calling it "A Tale from the Transformers Fact Files", and issue 17's strip had a banner simply reading "From the Fact Files" – an appellation used by both the contents and strip in issue 21.
