The Milky Way is the name the fleshlings have given to the galaxy Earth occupies. It contains numerous stars and star systems, including their own.

Feeling his species should be spreading order across the galaxy, Senator Jhiaxus met with High Circuitmaster Boltax, Tallus, Decanus, and Rokan, all members of a "Brain Trust", in Nova Cronum. While the other four intended for their combined knowledge to become the Underbase, Jhiaxus downloaded what knowledge he needed to create a galactic empire to bring order to the galaxy, Less Than Zero founding what he dubbed the Hub Network. The Transformers cartoon

Cybertron's original location is unknown. Starscream and Skyfire seemingly flew from there to Earth under their own power millions of years ago. Fire in the Sky In the 1980s, Cybertron was somewhere beyond the Milky Way galaxy but was then teleported into Earth orbit via space bridge. The Ultimate Doom, Part 1 Subsequently a huge energon explosion pushed Cybertron out of Earth orbit, The Ultimate Doom, Part 3 but the planets remained close enough that Omega Supreme and other Transformers often flew between the worlds without the aid of large ships or space bridges. Following the rise of the Thirteen on Cybertron, Onyx Prime proposed to Prima that they expand their species and spread "Pax Cybertronia" across the galaxy. Following a disastrous attempt at colonizing the planet Antilla, which taught the galaxy of Cybertron's great power, The First Who Was Named Our Finest the Primes fell to war, The Crucible which saw action on other planets in the galaxy. Heart of Darkness #3 When the war ended with the fall of the Thirteen, at least five Titans left Cybertron. On Cybertron, Nova Prime, a former follower of Prima, rose to power and made plans to relaunch his former master's colonization efforts and conspired to enact what he called "the expansion", a galaxy spanning empire of Cybertronians. All Good Things His plans hit an initial snag when Vector Sigma stopped igniting hot spots but he managed to use the Matrix of Leadership as a new source of sparks. When Unicron was activated, it assimilated the singularity at the galaxy's core so it could non-linearly draw power form every star in the galaxy, causing them to fade out on account of the Ore-1 in its systems. Cybertron was somewhere in the Milky Way galaxy. In a bygone age, it was a major galactic power. When the Great War broke out, Cybertron's empire split into the Autobot Commonwealth and the Decepticon Star Empire. Broken Windshields

In 2031, the Human Confederacy, having reverse-engineered discarded Cybertronian technology to the point of surpassing it, forcibly quarantined the Cybertronian war to the Allowed Zone, consisting of Cybertron and nine colony planets. Head Games Micro-Aggressions After Galvatron's rebuilt Decepticon fleet nearly breached this zone, A Brush With Infamy–Prologue it was halved in size, the abandoned planets being sterilized by the Confederated Terran Colonial Fleet who continued to push ever outwards into the galaxy as their technology advanced. After attaining consciousness and slaughtering the Gorlamites who had created him, Lord Imperious Delirious spent his time travelling the galaxy, liberating any second-born intellects he found from their organic creators. When he learnt of the Cybertronians, Delirious, disgusted by their sparks, dedicated himself to wiping them out. Derailment

Some time after the 25th century AC, the Cybertronian race had a war with the Ammonites which led the Convoy Council to forbid any Cybertronian from leaving the Milky Way to avoid attracting things "beyond mortal ken".

By the 23rd century, spacefaring organic civilizations such as the Federation and the Klingon Empire existed as galactic powers within a region of the Milky Way. Last Bot Standing

As the Great War expanded outwards from Cybertron, it eventually decayed into a stalemate that consumed more and more resources across the galaxy, destroying stars and planets while driving countless alien species to extinction. As time passed, the Cybertronians became victims of their own success, having used all up the energon and other resources that they needed to repair themselves and continue the conflict. As the Cybertronians began to die permanent deaths, the conflict was considered over. Last Bot Standing #2 When Rodimus discovered that the planet Donnokt was the last source of energon crystals in the galaxy, he elected to keep the fuel a secret, confident that if more Cybertronians learnt about the fuel, the war would restart across what little was left of the galaxy. In the 22nd century, there existed six major powers in the Milky Way galaxy: the Autobot Commonwealth; the Decepticon Empire; the Nebulon Republic, a loosely allied coalition of peaceful, organic races; the mercantile Quintesson Pan Galactic Co-Prosperity Sphere; the mysterious Vok Territory; and the empire of aggressive mechanoids known as the Vestial Imperium. Several, minor coalitions, such as the Tiresian Union, Intruder Empire, Alpha Q's Realm, and the Galran Khanganete, control small regions of otherwise unclaimed space. During the Great War, the Autobots' monopolization of space bridge technology allowed them to more easily move about the galaxy than the Decepticons. The AllSpark Almanac II During the conflict, the Autobots sent the AllSpark through a space bridge, sending it to some far-flung corner of the galaxy to keep it away from the Decepticons, winding up in the Azazel asteroid belt. Four million stellar cycles before the 22nd century, Megatron began to search the galaxy for the AllSpark. Transform and Roll Out

Following their defeat at the war's end, the Decepticons were exiled from Cybertron in exchange for amnesty, being exiled to the furthest reaches of the galaxy. The AllSpark Almanac II

In the 22nd century, upon acquiring a tachyon transmitter, Megatron sent a broadcast to the Decepticon cells scattered throughout the galaxy, leading to the Decepticon Uprisings, where Decepticons attacked space bridges, Mission Accomplished intending to use the network to transwarp directly to Cybertron while the Autobot military overstretched itself across the galaxy. The plan hit a snag when Ultra Magnus shut down the space bridges. TransWarped

To reach Cybertron from Earth, Megatron built a boot-leg space bridge that he ended up overloading. To save his fellows, Omega Supreme absorbed the excess transwarp energy. A Bridge Too Close, Part II Warped to the same part of the galaxy as the Sentinel, Megatron managed to use the AllSpark fragment in Starscream's head to guide the giant's transwarp jumps. When Starscream tried to jump to Cybertron, the Autobots stuck a plasma dynamic thruster on Supreme's starship mode, sending him and his passengers warping randomly across the galaxy. As the Great War tipped in the favour of the Decepticons, Optimus Prime removed the AllSpark from Cybertron's Core and covertly launched it to a distant star system to keep it hidden from the Decepticons.
