Robot-Man X is a Decepticon from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Not actually available in these colors.

Robot-Man X looks like Topspin, but he's evil. Whether that makes him more or less unbearable is unknown.

He also looks identical to that other guy but is actually a completely different character!

More like ASALTO-Man X.

Sold exclusively by Antex in Argentina alongside his wavemate Robot-Man Z, Robot-Man X is essentially a re-release of Antex's 1985 Salt-Man X, itself a redeco of the Hasbro Jumpstarter Topspin, transforming into a Cybertronic air-skiff. It features a pull-back motor in vehicle mode that propels it forward on smooth surfaces; after a short run the latch that keeps it spring-loaded legs releases, causing it to flip forward and into upright robot mode. A small lever on the back of its head adjusts the timing of when its head hits the floor, and thus its kickoff angle, hopefully making this gimmick work better. This release's stickers are factory-applied rather than on a customer-applied sticker sheet, and the adhesive seems stronger than the original release's to boot.
His packaging art depicts him as having red limbs with a white torso, but it is super-unlikely the toy was released in this deco, as Antex never made the toy in those colors in the original series, despite recycling Estrela's Brazilian-release box art for the toy (which did come in those colors in that line). Instead, he comes in the same decos as Salt-Man X: red limbs with a yellow torso, or green limbs with a white torso, the latter seeming to be less common.
Robot-Man X's gun is unchromed grey plastic; while most of the original run of the Antex Salt-Men had chromed guns, some late-run releases had unchromed gray guns, presumably as a cost-cutting measure.

Notes

[edit]
  • Technically, "Generation 2" does not appear on the Robot-Man packaging, but that's also true for some of the Hasbro Generation 2 toyline packaging, and it does use the Generation 2 font, faction symbol, card style, etc, so....
  • The packaging also gives us the tagline "Un salto mas hacia el futuro", meaning "One more leap into the future"... which is pretty freakin' great, honestly.
