Chopster is a Decepticon-allied Mini-Con from Power Core Combiners.
Take a close look. 'Cause I rule, baby.

Chopster is the Decepticon Commander Smolder's Mini-Con. A very versatile Mini-Con, Chopster can transform into a robot, a "fire axe", body armor, or a flamethrower for Smolder's vehicle mode! He puts on a brave front, but when the odds tip against him, Chopster will scream and flee while creaming some more.

As a building burned, surrounded by fire fighters, Smolder and Chopster arrived on the scene in vehicle mode. The firefighters were horrified when the two announced their intention was not to help extinguish the fire, but to add to it. Smolder ordered Chopster to destroy the water hoses, which the Mini-Con gleefully agreed to.

Bumblebee and Ratchet came to the rescue and confronted Chopster. After making his threats, however, Chopster fled, screaming, once Bumblebee revved his engines at him. Chopster returned quickly thereafter, attached to Smolder in vehicle mode. After suffering their flame attack, Ratchet knocked Chopster off Smolder's roof with an EMP blast. The blast forced Chopster to reconfigure into "fire axe" mode, which Smolder was fine with. He picked up Chopster and threw him at the Autobots, but they were able to deflect him. Ultimately, Smolder too was defeated. Cyber Missions 9

Power Core Combiners

You're disarmed if I run away!
  • Smolder with Chopster (Commander Class, 2010)
Chopster was available only with his larger partner Smolder as part of the first wave of Power Core Combiners Commander Class figures. Chopster transforms from a robot into a flame-cannon that can be attached to the Commanders in vehicle mode, a hand-held double-headed axe, and "body armor" for both normal and super-mode Commanders.
Chopster's axe mode features a two-tier handle allowing standard 5mm hole use, with a smaller size peg at the tip, allowing figures with smaller hand-holes to grip it. Unfortunately, figures with shallow holes, such as Bombshock will only grasp failingly at the narrow tip. Chopster's powerlink port includes the raised center per usual Mini-cons, but is too short to activate any features on some Armada toys.
This mold was also used to make Razorbeam and Peaceman.
During the period between 26 December 2010 and 31 January 2011, Hasbro ran their "Supercharge Your Holidays" promotion: for every $20 spent on Hasbro-branded product, customers could receive a free, random product from a list provided by Hasbro. Among the items on the list was "Transformers Combiners & Speed Stars Mini Vehicle". According to this discussion thread on Allspark.com, Smolder with Chopster was one of the figures distributed.

  • Power Core Combiners Special Value Offer (2011)
Smolder and Chopster also made available as part of a Walmart-exclusive Black Friday "Value Pack", combining a 5-pack team with a Commander 2-pack via packaging tape and a couple of stickers, for the whopping price of ten bucks, merely a third of what the two toys would normally cost.
So far, Smolder has only been found attached to the Mudslinger/Destructicons set.

Notes

  • During a BotCon 2010 panel, one of the Hasbro employees revealed that a possible name for Chopster was Kick-Axe.
