While I can understand the idea of trying to be light and a little humorous, I know that at least more than a few people find this incredibly off putting and unprofessional, which hurt's a site's like this ability to attract people to it. While the user's here may think it's funny, the average person who comes here will not appreciate it the same way, or may not understand the context of the joke, it can ruin the first impression make it so people may not come back. A large portion of people who come to wiki based sites are not hard core fans, but the casual viewer or someone who has a passing interest in the franchise, or is trying to get more information on something they may be missing context on. They aren't looking for jokes, they just want information. Another thing Humor is HIGHLY subjective to the individual, putting a joke on the main page of an article meant to be view by the general population in general is not a good idea, given that a lot of people won't even think it's funny, and if they they don't think it's funny, then they are probably just gonna think it's stupid, and that gives a bad impression of the site.
But the biggest reason I'm doing it is that the tone of image captions seems to be spilling over into actual article content. Image captioning is one thing, but the content of the article proper should only be factual information.
I'd also like to note that at the time I edited the captions, I didn't not actually know the site made it a policy to have humorous captions, just so you know that I wasn't trying to make a point and be a menace or anything, everything I do is in an attempt to improve the quality of the site. --[[User:8492nd|8492nd]] ([[User talk:8492nd|talk]]) 16:21, 18 July 2014 (EDT)

Hey, abates. I was going to change Heatwave's GoBox to something I made from the Rescue Bots Memory game cards...
... but I saw that you made the original GoBox, so I thought I'd get your opinion on it first. --Monzo (talk) 11:39, 17 January 2014 (EST)
- Sure, go for it! I'll make sure the version that appears on other sites updates. --abates (talk) 15:57, 17 January 2014 (EST)
Could you fix this?
I'm regularising the Marvel UK cover filenames, but I accidentally just moved the #101 cover to File:MarvelUK-102.jpg. Could you move it to File:MarvelUK-101.jpg and delete the redirect so I can move the actual #102 cover there, please? Ta. - SanityOrMadness (talk) 19:17, 27 January 2014 (EST)
Hi
Hello, thanks for the notice. I just fixed that up. ;-D --TX55TALK 05:05, 4 February 2014 (EST)
About three users...
I don't want to sound overly cautious and paranoid, but it's bothered me for a while: Is it possible that these three users are one and the same? I mean, they feature similar styles of contributions, not to mention the names. Just putting this out there... --Inkblot (talk) 03:51, 29 March 2014 (EDT)
- I did a checkuser and... yep, they're one and the same, as far as I can tell. --abates (talk) 04:01, 29 March 2014 (EDT)
Here's another one: Are these two guys the same? I hope not... --Inkblot (talk) 18:02, 7 May 2014 (EDT)
- I was wondering this myself a while ago. That the exact fan-art on Noerk's userpage can be found on KirbyForce1's deviantART page is kind of damning, unless Noerk was lying about the art being his. Jalaguy (talk) 18:07, 7 May 2014 (EDT)
- Naw, pretty sure they're different people. --abates (talk) 18:22, 7 May 2014 (EDT)
Could User:Ratchet0202 be perma-banned User:Ironhide0202? Very similar names, very similar editing patterns. Jalaguy (talk) 09:15, 11 May 2014 (EDT)
Hey, abates, could you do another one? User:Energizer and User:SirSpoonwave have very similar posting habits, and it's making me suspicious.Escargon (talk) 22:53, 21 May 2014 (EDT)
- SirSpoonwave has not edited in a year and a half so any checkuser data is expired. In any case, it's not like either of them is a problem user. --abates (talk) 23:26, 21 May 2014 (EDT)
Hey, could you run checkusers on User:Bruticus-Maxwell and User:JaAm-On-Toast? They seem likely candidates for KirbyForce sockpuppets... Cheers. Jalaguy (talk) 17:26, 22 June 2014 (EDT)
- Okay, yeah, they were KirbyForce. Just noticed User:SlimerJoel from a few days ago, though... Jalaguy (talk) 17:54, 22 June 2014 (EDT)
Can you check User:Thunderstrike57? His/her edit to Drift (ROTF) makes me suspect KirbyForce again. --Khajidha (talk) 07:11, 23 June 2014 (EDT)
Could you check this new Septesson guy? I think he's Norek. Escargon (talk) 16:24, 28 June 2014 (EDT)
Thanks
Yeah, I admit that perhaps I went a little overboard with the Interstellar Challenge course (as I admit of being afraid of too-small articles), thanks for refining it a bit.
Double thanks for helping refine my articles and images :-) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Go(toby070)Bots (talk • contribs).
- No problem! BTW, you should sign talk page comments by using ~~~~ (or by using the squiggly signature button in the toolbar over the edit window. It's the one second from the right). --abates (talk) 21:58, 4 May 2014 (EDT)
Add the Dinobots
Since you're in charge of the Age of Extinction page, why aren't the other Dinobots Slug, Slash, and Scorn aren't in the chart full of characters? I made their pages if you haven't noticed. Can you please add the Dinobots? Movie09 (talk) 09:05, 11 May 2014 (EDT)
- They're not on there because as far as I know, we haven't seen official confirmation they're in the movie. We've only seen Grimlock and Strafe in trailers so far, and none of the Dinobots were in the list of voice actors revealed the other day. I'm not in charge of the AOE page, but as it was locked down so only admins could edit it, I was trying to keep it as up to date as I could. --abates (talk) 17:03, 11 May 2014 (EDT)
Checkuser
Really sorry to use you as 'the checkuser guy' again, but I rather suspect that User:AdrenntheMan might be User:OptimusPrime12/User:MetroPlex71, not least because OptimusPrime12's email address began with 'Adrenn'. Cheers. Jalaguy (talk) 14:57, 11 July 2014 (EDT)
Okay, this might just me being paranoid, but could you check User:JangoPrime365 too? He registered an hour after Adrenntheman was blocked, his MO is similar, and he uploaded File:Prime gets shotAOE.jpg, which is identical in dimensions, size and metadata to File:Optimus gets shot AOE.jpg, uploaded by MetroPlex71... Jalaguy (talk) 18:52, 12 July 2014 (EDT)
- Same useragent string plus the timing makes me think you're right. Something else that doesn't add up is that he claims on his talk page to be in Australia, but his IP address indicates he's editing from Austria. --abates (talk) 19:24, 12 July 2014 (EDT)
Why are you guys so suspicious about me? Am I a wanted hacker or something. I was searching for administrators so I can know more about them, abates/you came first. I decided to read your page and I found this. I thought to myself, " Am I being accused that I'm someone else?". I didn't know what mo was so I looked it up. Now I know. I decided to mind my own business and upload a file of dreadwing. I didn't crop it right so it showed a couple of pages. So what? . I know how you guys are feeling. You guys don't trust because I'm the "New Guy". Same thing happened on wookiepedia. Everyone was suspicious at me because they think I'm dangerous or something, Get this, I'm not. I'm just new and I'm trying to enjoy myself in here. So can you guys stop being paranoid and give me a boost up on this wiki?
If you guys still don't trust me, feel free to kick me or remove out of this website, I'll understand.

- You are not being suspected because you're a "new guy", you are being suspected because your behavior is somewhat similar to a user who's been banned. In many wikis, it's not uncommon for a banned user to create a new account to try and bypass a ban, and our policy for ban evasion is always a permanent ban for every account the user has and will make. The sad part is that there are many instances when the ban is temporary, and the user could have simply waited for it to pass, rather than take the chance and be permanently banned. Just giving out the facts. --Inkblot (talk) 02:26, 13 July 2014 (EDT)
I understand but guys, don't accuse me of being someone else. I know the rules about the "only one account per person". I don't create multiple accounts because I know it results into a ban. Being honest, I'm one of the shy types. I don't want to get that much of attention from a group of people. It starts to make me uncomfortable and paranoid. So why accuse a new-timer rather than giving me tips and a head start on this wiki? .
