The Transformers: Prime toyline hit shelves in November 2011. Originally, Hasbro played coy with the series receiving a toyline at all, emphasizing that it was a television series first and foremost. There were initial plans to release a small assortment of three Deluxe figures (Bumblebee, Arcee and Starscream) in the Generations line before they were moved into the expanded "First Edition" launch line.

The Transformers: Prime toys released in 2012 as the main line bear the "Robots in Disguise" subtitle.

The Transformers: Prime toys released in 2013 as the main line use the "Beast Hunters" subtitle.

In Japan, TakaraTomy decided to take the post-"First Edition" line in a completely different direction, refocusing it around the model-kit-esque Arms Micron gimmick and removing a significant portion of many toys' paint operations in lieu of user-applied stickers. These toys were sold under the "Arms Micron" subtitle.

First Edition (2011)

Deluxe Class

Arcee, a Wave 1 Deluxe Class figure

Wave 1

Wave 1.5

Wave 2

Originally, Hasbro's Cliffjumper was only available in Canada and certain other regions outside of the United States, such as Asia. Terrorcon Cliffjumper was omitted in the initial release of Wave 2, and said wave was, at first, only released in Hasbro's Asian markets. In late 2012, Wave 2 was released in its entirety in Hasbro's Asian markets, and ToysЯUs picked up these toys, along with most of the "First Edition" line, as part of a huge block of US market exclusives for the holiday season.

Voyager Class

Bulkhead, a Wave 1 Voyager Class figure

Wave 1

Hasbro's Optimus Prime and Bulkhead were originally only available in Canada and certain other regions outside of the United States, such as Asia, Guatemala, Peru and Colombia. However, ToysЯUs later picked up these toys, along with most of the "First Edition" line, as part of a huge block of US market exclusives for holiday season 2012.

Entertainment Pack

The Entertainment Pack was originally only available in Canada and certain other regions outside of the United States, such as Asia. However, ToysЯUs later picked up this set, along with most of the "First Edition" line, as part of a huge block of US market exclusives for holiday season 2012.

Robots in Disguise (2012)

Deluxe Class

The Vehicon, a Wave 3 Deluxe Class figure

The Deluxe size class gains a dynamic "head reveal" gimmick that has become the universal feature of the figures, whether they be spring-loaded, gear-operated, or simply strategically revealed at the right time by folding down the right panel. Internally, these figures were referred to by Hasbro as "Revealers" due to this gimmick, but the official name remains "Deluxe Class".

Wave 1

Wave 2

Wave 3

Wave 4

Wave 5

Voyager Class

Ultra Magnus, a Wave 4 Voyager Class figure

The Voyager class figures acquire a universal gimmick shared in the form of a spring-loaded MechTech-style transforming weapon partially constructed from translucent plastic, which also features an LED that moves into place and is activated when the weapon is deployed. The figures themselves also feature translucent plastic in various spots throughout their bodies, so that when the weapon is in place and deployed, the moving LED creates the idea of energon power "flowing" from the character's bodies into their weapons. Internally, these figures were referred to by Hasbro as "Powerizers" due to this gimmick, but the official name remains "Voyager Class".

Wave 1

Wave 2

Wave 3

Wave 4

Wave 5

Weaponizers

Optimus Prime, a Wave 1 Weaponizer Class figure

A new size class, Weaponizer Class figures are similar in size to Leader Class toys of previous lines, but with simpler transformations. They feature a universal gimmick in the form of light-up gimmicks and spinning mini-guns that can deploy in either mode.

Wave 1

Entertainment Pack

The Entertainment Pack was only available in Canada and certain other regions outside of the United States, such as Asia.
