Angolmois Energy

Angolmois Energy (アンゴルモアエネルギー Angorumoa Enerugī), or simply Angolmois, is the life-force of Unicron. It is a powerful energy source which oftentimes has completely random and unpredictable effects on the things it comes in contact with. It can upgrade a Transformer and give them new bodies, or it can lift mountains and freeze planets.

Just like Unicron, Angolmois Energy is extremely chaotic. It appears to be functionally identical to Dark Energon.[1] One form of containment for portions of this substance is referred to as an Angolmois Capsule (アンゴルモアカプセル Angorumoa Kapuseru).

Kiss Players Position

Believing that they were collecting fragments of the Allspark for the Sparkbots, who claimed to be allies of Primus, the Kiss Players Marissa Faireborn, Atari Hitotonari and Shaoshao Li were actually assembling Unicron's dispersed Angolmois Energy—which was, for some reason, stored inside famous Autobot leaders of the past, present and future. Fleeing through space and time to prehistoric Earth, the Sparkbots used the energy to resurrect Unicron...who was blown back into Angolmois Energy by Primus shortly thereafter.

Primus trapped the energy deep within the planet and created Brave Maximus to guard it for eternity. Unfortunately, he left Earth with the Kiss Players around 2007, and therefore wasn't on-duty when Lio Convoy and Galvatron came around.

In the distant future, Earth turned into Gaia. Angolmois Energy was riddled into the planet's surface and began to have bizarre effects on the environment.

During a space battle with Galvatron and his Predacons, Lio Convoy and the Maximals landed on Gaia after traversing space. Realizing the destructive potential of Angolmois, Galvatron made it his goal to steal all of it from Gaia.

The Angolmois Energy affected the Transformers on Gaia in many ways, including upgrading Megastorm, Starscream, and BB, to name a few. Galvatron eventually extracted all the Angolmois Energy from the planet using his artificial planet, Nemesis. After a fierce battle which resulted in the death of Galvatron, the Maximals being trapped in a wormhole, and the Predacons being set adrift into deep space, all the Angolmois Energy in Nemesis was sealed away in capsules and ejected into outer space.

The Convoy Council, unaware of the fate of Lio Convoy, ordered Big Convoy and his Maximal new recruits to investigate Gaia and see what was up. Unknown to Big Convoy, he was followed by Magmatron and his Predacons. After finding Lio Convoy's black box, they learned about the Angolmois Capsules and immediately set off to reclaim them.

The Maximals and Predacons then raced to secure as many capsules as they could. The Angolmois Capsules were wreaking havoc all over the galaxy, causing great destruction on the planets they wound up on.

Eventually, between the Maximals and the Predacons, all the Angolmois Capsules were recovered. Then, the mysterious and insanely powerful Blentrons showed up, beat the mortal crap out of both factions and stole all the Angolmois Capsules.

As it turns out, the Blentrons were creations of Unicron. They released all the Angolmois Energy into the corpse of Galvatron, resurrecting Unicron. Unicron then attacked Cybertron and possessed Vector Sigma, turning the planet into his new body. Only by teaming up were Magmatron and Big Convoy able to defeat Unicron and save Cybertron.

"BLEGH!"

An Angolmois Capsule from Nemesis travelled back in time and fell on a planet in the 7th Cosmos. Such animals affected were Big, a mammoth, and a Giganotosaurus, who became leader of group of a similarly evolved animals. Lio Convoy soon arrived and woke up on the unknown planet, where he soon encountered the Giganotosaurus's gang massacring other animals. He attacked the Giganotosaurus to no avail; he was saved by Big.

Big took Lio Convoy to the capsule; while Lio Convoy investigated it, Big was attacked by the Giganotosaurus from behind. Despite being badly wounded, Big told Lio Convoy to leave and managed to push the dinosaur gang into the valley where the capsule was. The capsule exploded on impact, and the Angolmois Energy evolved the dinosaurs into Transformers. Their leader, now proclaiming himself Magmatron, thanked Big's effort for having granted them more power. Lio Convoy transformed into robot mode to fight and defeated most of them, except for Magmatron, who defeated Lio Convoy with ease. The Beast Wars "Neo" Begin!!!

Double Cross He left himself to be found in the Galvaburg II on Gaia by Big Convoy's unit, and, once on the Gung Ho, activated the warp The 5 Rookies to Luxor. With the Blentron force given to him by the Black Ball, Magmatron threatened the Maximals till they gave up the capsules. Magmatron's purpose done, a Rartorata hit him aside and the Blentrons had the Angolmois Energy absorbed by the Black Ball, who revealed himself to be Unicron. Unicron intended on consuming Big Convoy and Magmatron as well, as they contained the energies of the seventh Angolmois Capsule. Unicron succeeded at consuming Magmatron's Angolmois Energy, but Big Convoy was saved by Heinrad, who warned him of the threat Unicron posed. Double Cross Unicron possessed Cybertron, using it as his new body and still sought out Big Convoy, needing his Angolmois Energy to complete his left eye. After luring Unicron to Georgian to destroy his limbs, Big Convoy focused his rage and Magmatron's vengeance into an Angolmois flame surrounding the Magma Blade and knocked Unicron's head off his body. Notes

  • In real life, the word "Angolmois" was coined by the French seer Nostradamus in one of his Prophecies.[2] Its literal meaning would be "Angolm-people", but it is widely interpreted to be a play on "Mongolois", his native tongue's word for "Mongol". It would be pronounced "Ahn-gol-mwa".
  • Cementing the Nostradamus connection, a Beast Wars II toy catalog claims that Beast Wars II begins in "the seventh month of Space Year 1999" and that the Predacons are in search of "the King of Angolmois". Nostradamus's prophecy says that in the seventh month of 1999, the king of the Angolmois will be resurrected. (If this seems like an odd reference for a Japanese Transformers property, bear in mind that Nostradamus lore is quite popular in much of anime, to say nothing of Japanese pop culture in general.)
  • Angolmois Energy is similar to Dark Energon, as both are corrupting energies linked to Unicron and buried in Earth. At BotCon 2011, the Prime staff stated the similarity was a coincidence. Ask Vector Prime has since equated the two terms.
