As a Free-Combiner, Battle Gaia's component robots can consciously rearrange themselves into new formations in response to a certain predicament. With Shuttle Gunner and Target Hawk as his legs in the Flying Formation, he can surge upward at incredible speeds. Using Sandstorm and Leyland as his legs in the Dash Formation, his running speed increases greatly. Accessing the Crash Formation with Leyland and Target Hawk as his arms, his destructive powers are greatly enhanced. And by creating the Fire Formation with Sandstorm and Shuttle Gunner as his arms, he can utilize all the fire-power of his individual components.

Operation Combination story pages
Battle Gaia first fought his arch-enemy, Guard City, in a fierce battle in a human-sized city. Battle Gaia's Fire Formation made short work of Sixwing and Sixtrain, though Guard City's Mach Formation gave him the edge needed to fight back. Big Pinch, Autobots!
Later, Battle Gaia came to Earth along with the Jet Corps in order to drain it of all its energy. Typical giant evil robot fare, you know the drill. Fighting his way into Earth's orbit, he was met by Guard City, who had summoned all the Micromaster Combiners scattered across the globe to his aid. Battle Gaia went straight for Sixtrain, beating him soundly. The Decepticons' Attack on Earth!
Eventually, the Autobots combined into the "Autobot Scrum Combination". Powered by twenty-nine individual Autobots, their unleashed energies destroyed Battle Gaia in an instant. The Jet Corps gathered up the parts of Battle Gaia and retreated. Conclusion

- Battle Gaia (Multi-pack, 1992)
- ID number: TF-10
- Available only as a complete box set of five robots, Battle Gaia is a redeco of the Combaticon combiner Bruticus. The four smaller robots attach via sockets in Great Cannon's shoulders and the bottom of his feet. Fists and feet pads attach onto the four limbs, and Battle Gaia is completed with a large chest plate and a helmet covering Great Cannon's head. As with all Scramble City-style combiner teams, his limbs can be rearranged into any slot of one's choosing.
- This mold-set was later used to make Robots in Disguise Ruination.
Notes
- The Battle Gaia depicted in the July 1992 issue of TV Magazine, seen at right, has some color differences compared to the final version: the retail Sandstorm is more cream or off-white than sandy tan, and Target Hawk's chest became dark green (and his grey parts lighter).
- Like how the original Battle Gaia was a redeco of the original Bruticus, the Kre-O Battle Gaia uses the same pieces as Kre-O Bruticus.
