- "Anison" band Rey is formed.
- February 10 — All bottles of Transformers the Movie water expire.
- April 22 — The Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk (alt mode of Predator Falcon, Shadow Jet, Skyjack, G1 Air Raid, Aero Raid, Delta Seeker and others) is retired from service.
- July 9 — Activision, Inc. is formally merged with Vivendi Games, which moves Blizzard Entertainment under the Activision aegis, officially creating Activision Blizzard.
