Convobat
- Convobat is a Maximal or Autobot from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Convobat (コンボバット Konbobatto) is a clone of the deceased leader of the Blue Order. To introduce the traits of organic life to the next generation of Transformers, Straxus performed experiments that created a new, hybrid form of Cybertronian, with Convobat being a result. With his bat wings, Convobat can swoop and hover in complete silence, making him perfect for Straxus's assassination needs. However, Convobat balks at his forced profession and desires to escape his lot in life.
His only friend is fellow experiment Megalligator and he uses his partner drone Ape X Arms to make up for his lack of firepower.[1]

Precursor World
C-6 and his "siblings" looked on with unease as their creator Straxus announced his intention to exploit the power vacuum left by the fall of the Primus Vanguard and use his "children" to conquer the Precursor World. Finale 2

At Darkmount, Straxus's fortress, his experiment C-6 was undergoing a training exercise to become a better assassin, facing off against Air Hunter. When he got the better of the Decepticon, his creator commended him on his work, christening him as Convobat. Nevertheless, Straxus punished Convobat for hesitating to kill—he may be a clone of a Convoy, but he was still the property of Straxus, and free will was not appreciated in his property. When Convobat stumbled off to recover, he ran into the bound D-6, who proposed an escape...
During the escape, D-6 was cornered by Wrecker Hook, Hailstorm, and Terradive. D-6 scorned his designation, dubbing himself Megalligator and, using his abilities, calls forth Ape X Arms to blast Hailstorm and Terradive. Just as Wrecker Hook realized he was around, Convobat swooped in to incapacitate the Decepticon. In a weapons storage locker, Megalligator found a spare transtector. The duo were soon attacked by Straxus himself, who disowned Megalligator. But his creation showed the power given to him by his "father" and exploded his transtector in Straxus's face. Knowing their creator wouldn't be down for the count, Megalligator had Convobat rush out with him. When Convobat questioned what Megalligator wanted to do with his life, the Autobot revealed he wants to meet his true father—Blue Big Convoy—and perhaps change his life around. Megalligator was disappointed by this revelation, and a shot hit Convobat! A stranger was revealed as the attacker and he took his leave with Megalligator as Convobat passed out... Cybertron Convobat prequel comic
In a jungle somewhere, Convobat, hunting down his wayward friend Megalligator, spotted him near a crashed vessel he assumed has been used by the Decepticon as a lab. Megalligator swung out his tail to attack his fellow clone and both transformed to prepare for a fight. Megalligator expressed surprise that Convobat managed to escape from Straxus's fortress, but wondered why he wasn't meeting his "father" Blue Big Convoy as he said he would. Convobat said he had a bigger priority at the moment, but, before he could explain, the two were interrupted by Bruticus. The hellhound was sent by Straxus to annihilate his treacherous creations. Bruticus turned out to be yet another one of Straxus's clone creations—this time three fused into one. Megalligator proposed a truce to Convobat till they can deal with the would-be assassin.

Convobat accepted his friend's offer and summoned Ape X Arms, who helped by blasting off Bruticus's extra limbs. Megalligator showed off his special power—telekinesis over machines—by controlling nearby transtectors to attack Bruticus, but the trinity powered himself up and easily disposes of the "headless soldiers" and stabbed Megalligator with his daggers. Megalligator, realizing that Bruticus had a shield against his telekinesis, spotted his weakness. He uses a spark circuit to control the power of his three heads; they cannot be removed from his body like his opponents. Convobat took the opportunity and sliced through Bruticus's heads, but the assassin has a final surprise, which he demonstrated by having his body self-destruct in an attempt to take down his targets.
Convobat and Megalligator managed to survive by the latter using his spare transtectors as a makeshift shield. Megalligator moaned as he finally revealed his plan: to kill Megatron, the source of evil, in all universes. He extended his hand to Convobat to join, but the Autobot denies his offer. He instead offered his own current priority: to literally knock some sense into his errant friend. The battle tired out the both of them and they collapsed into unconsciousness. Convobat was later awakened by Ape X Arms, and saw that Megalligator was gone. He decided to venture into the mysterious vessel, where he found a sleeping blue giant... Cybertron Convobat

Meanwhile and elsewhere, the last lone survivor of the Blue Order, Magna Convoy, staged a disastrous one man assault on Darkmount that left him near death clutching a broken Matrix Sword. Before Straxus's forces could finish him off, the remains of the Matrix Sword glowed and Convoy was teleported away by a glowing starship. Magna Convoy's savior revealed himself to be the spectral form of the Blue Order's deceased leader Blue Big Convoy, his spark having remained in the Matrix Sword. Before he faded away, his power exhausted, he told Convoy of a young Transformer cloned from his spark energy by Straxus. His final command to Convoy—his "blue order"—was to guide this developing warrior on his journey. Magna Convoy then passed out, only to be awoken by the very warrior his commander spoke of—Convobat. Cybertron Magna Convoy prequel comic
Magna Convoy told Convobat of the Primus Vanguard, the group of interdimensional warriors who defended their universe from invaders, and how they passed down the Matrix Sword from leader to leader. They were ultimately betrayed by Straxus, who used programs to force them to turn on each other, leading to the destruction of the Vanguard and the death of Blue Big Convoy. Seeing as Convobat was a clone of Big, Magna Convoy passed the remains of the sword to him, though the diminutive bot was reluctant to accept such a treasured object. When the two prepared to recover Convobat's transtector, they found their ship under attack from Straxus's Rollermaster Corps, and Magna Convoy headed out to fight them while urging Convobat to flee with the ship.

Confronted by Straxus himself, Magna Convoy held his ground and proclaimed that while he had previously lost everything and had nothing to fight for, he now saw the light of hope in Convobat and was determined to protect him. Straxus was unimpressed and destroyed Convoy's hand, but his ensuing barrage of missiles was blocked by Convobat who swooped in on a shield vehicle and returned the Matrix Sword to Magna Convoy. While keeping the Rollermaster Corps busy, Convobat told Magna Convoy that he was the one entrusted with the sword, though Convoy just demanded to know why he didn't escape when he had the chance. Convobat retorted that Magna Convoy's stubbornness reminded him of his friend Megalligator, and he felt compelled to confront that stubbornness rather than oblige it.
The return of the Matrix Sword didn't worry Straxus, who mocked Magna Convoy's similarity to his late leader and told him that even if they are granted power, lifeforms like him don't have the ambition to use it and must be led by someone like Straxus. He fired a powerful blast, but to his shock Magna Convoy, having accepted that he was entrusted the Matrix Sword for a reason, was able to call upon its powerful light to deflect the blow. The blade regenerated along with his hand and he unleashed its full power on Straxus.
As Convobat left the planet with Magna Convoy, they discovered faint signals that other Vanguard members may have survived. Magna Convoy invited Convobat to join him and restore the light in the form of a new Blue Order. Cybertron Magna Convoy
Legends comic
In the Legends World, Megalligator and Convobat's exploits were known as fiction in the form of the Convobat Amazon Showdown film. It was created by Nightscream, who played the title role with a transtector that he "borrowed" from Mindwipe and painted blue. Even with technical issues like "Megalligator" trying to combine with "Ape X Arms" and the transtector going on a rampage, the movie was completed. Bonus Edition Vol. EX A sequel was later produced with Magna Convoy in it. Bonus Edition Vol. EX
Scorching Heat Showdown
Convobat was an Avatar of Optimus Primal. After Snapper and Megalligator killed Armordillo and were about to extract some information from his memories, Convobat swooped in to attack the two Predacons. The battle was soon joined by Megatron, but Optimus Primal himself also leapt in the fray. Primal was able to end the threat of Megatron and both gorilla and bat were able to escape the volcanic eruption that followed. Scorching Heat Showdown
