Bonecrusher is the Decepticons' resident bulldozer.

Toys

The Transformers

"You were so busy forcing me into a boner, you forgot you were committing one yourself!"
  • Bonecrusher (Constructicon, 1985/1986)
    • Team ID number: 1
    • Takara ID number: 36
    • Accessories: Laser pistol, Devastator's left fist, "Target Shooter" projectile launcher, "Rotor Blade" projectile
Bonecrusher was originally from Takara's Pre-Transformers Diaclone toyline, as "Construction Vehicle Robot No.1 Bulldozer". Bonecrusher transforms into a bright green bulldozer resembling a Caterpillar D9G pusher, which can also form an "attack bulldozer" mode by attaching the "Target Shooter" (loaded with the "Rotor Blade" projectile) onto the posts on the hood of his vehicle mode. The Target Shooter could also become launcher or drill weapon attached to either of his arms in robot mode (which was later shown in Transformers: Devastation game). He can also combine with his fellow Constructicons to form Devastator, functioning as the left arm.
On the European continent, Bonecrusher was initially released individually alongside the other Constructicons by Hasbro's subsidiary Milton Bradley (MB) in 1985.[1][2] In 1986, Bonecrusher and the other Constructicons were re-released in Europe, albeit this time in "Hasbro"-branded packaging (but manufactured by Joustra). The main difference with all other releases thus far was that the Constructicons' main color was now yellow instead of green.[3][4][5] These are not to be confused with the later, non-combining yellow European Constructicons, nor with the yellow Generation 2 Constructicons (see below for both).
For the GiG Italian release of Transformers, "Scudo" and the other "Escavators" were sold in boxes very similar to the Takara packaging instead of on Hasbro-style cards. The boxes even sported the Takara ID numbers from "31" to "36", and omitted the "Hasbro" logo on the packaging in favor of a "Takara" logo.

  • Devastator (Giftset, 1985)
    • Takara ID number: 37
    • Accessories: Laser pistol, Devastator's left fist, "target shooter" projectile launcher, "rotor blade" projectile
Bonecrusher was also available as part of the Devastator gift set that was available in several markets, including the United States and Japan. Rumors are that an MB-branded Devastator giftset was also released in continental Europe, but thus far no packaged sample has surfaced.[2]

  • Constructicons (Constructicon, 1992)
    • Accessories: Laser pistol
Another yellow European exclusive version of Bonecrusher, in colors very similar to the previous yellow European release. The main difference was that this version, just like the other Constructicons, came with no Devastator parts. This toy was also not officially named, as he came on a standardized card also used by the other Constructicons.
There were two variants of this Bonecrusher: The initial production run had his canopy cast in gray plastic (a color choice unique to this version), whereas the other one had a yellow canopy like the previous European yellow Bonecrusher.[6]

Generation 2

So they tried to shove me into a Boner yet again. I already GAVE you a boner! I can give you another one!!
  • Bonecrusher (Constructicon, 1993)
    • Team ID number: 1
    • Accessories: Laser pistol, Devastator's left fist, "target shooter" projectile launcher, "rotor blade" projectile.
Redecos of all six Constructicons were released individually as part of the first assortments of Generation 2 products. The first—and seemingly more common—versions were yellow like the previous European release, but had some minor color, deco and tooling differences. In Bonecrusher's case, the purple plastic parts were slightly brighter, the canopy was yellow (like on the first European yellow version and the later variant of the 1992 version), he featured a Generation 2-style Decepticon logo and the word "DECEPTICON" tampographed on the inside of his bulldozer shovel, and—most importantly—like all the Generation 2 Constructicons, Bonecrusher came with the extra parts necessary to form Devastator again.
A later and seemingly less common run changed the yellow plastics to rich orange. It has been rumored that this release was only available in KB Toys stores, but not verified.

Universe (2003)

A tiny boner.
  • Bonecrusher (Micromaster, 2004)
    • Accessories: Devastator legs
The Universe Bonecrusher toy was repurposed as a Micromaster upgrade for the Beast Wars: Uprising incarnation of Bone Crusher.
A redeco of Crush-Bull, Bone Crusher transforms into a bulldozer. He can form the back or chest to any similar-construction Micromaster combiner robot, but his nominal position is as the back of Constructicon Devastator.
A KB Toys exclusive, he and the other Micromaster Constructicons were also ultimately available from Sears during Christmastime, and Kmart's online store.
This mold was also used to make Micromaster Bonecrusher.

Classics

Chortle at Joker's boner
  • Constructicon Devastator (Multi-pack, 2007)
Bonecrusher is one of the toys included in this Walmart exclusive gift pack, a redeco of the Energon Bonecrusher and Sledge mold. He transforms into a wheeled front-end loader and can form a leg or arm to any Energon-series "Powerlinx Combiner" super robot, though his nominal placement is as the right arm of Devastator.
This sculpt was also used to make Scrapper from the same gift pack.

Encore

Reissued boner. (20A version pictured)
  • Devastor (2011)
    • ID number: 20
    • Accessories: Laser pistol, Devastator's left fist, "target shooter" projectile launcher, "rotor blade" projectile.
Bonecrusher was reissued in a giftset with his Constructicon teammates as part of TakaraTomy's Encore line. Apparently cast from a newly created mold, given the presence of a Tomy copyright stamp rather than the original Hasbro/Takara one, Bonecrusher features a newly added tab to his arm to hold him together more securely in vehicle mode.

  • Devastor (Anime Color Ver.) (2013)
    • ID number: 20A
    • Accessories: Laser pistol, Devastator's left fist, "target shooter" projectile launcher, "rotor blade" projectile.
Bonecrusher was again reissued in a giftset in 2013 as part of TakaraTomy's Encore line, this time in a more 'anime accurate' color scheme. In addition to the mold changes of the 2011 version, Bonecrusher is also a slightly different color and features more cartoon-accurate paint applications on his face. His projectile launcher / Devastator's lower arm is colored black, instead of purple.

Kre-O

How'd My boner crimes get THIS small?
  • Constructicon Devastator (Micro-Changer Combiner, 2013)
    • Set number: A2224
    • Pieces: 76
Bonecrusher comes as part of the Devastator Micro-Changer combiner set, and can be rebuilt from his robot mode into a bulldozer. He can also contribute his bricks to form Devastator together with Scrapper, Scavenger, and Mixmaster.

Combiner Wars

Boner of the year.
  • Devastator (gift set, 2015)
    • Accessories: Missile launchers/hands, two-piece gun, chest plate/gun, 2 swords
Combiner Wars Constructicon Bonecrusher is a Voyager-sized figure that transforms into a bulldozer and also forms Titan Class Devastator's left arm. He is packaged with the other Constructicons in a massive box.
As a part of a promotion in Hasbro's Asian markets, a free sticker sheet for the Constructicons was given out when purchasing the set. As such, Bonecrusher was given Generation 1 toy-esque stickers for the owner to apply if they wanted.

Convention exclusive boner of the year.
  • Devastator (gift set, 2015)
    • Accessories: Missile launchers/hands, two-piece gun, chest plate/gun, 2 swords,
A redeco of the above Bonecrusher figure also available as part of a gift set, featuring extensive paint operations and vacuum metallized purple parts. The packaging of this set is designed to evoke both Bonecrusher's shovel and Devastator's head, and its interior is designed to resemble the title image of Devastator on his wiki page.
In the U.S., this set (also referred to as "Devastator Special Edition" in a Hasbro press release) was exclusive to the Hasbro Toy Shop website and the Hasbro Toy Shop booth at San Diego Comic-Con 2015. In Asia, it was also available at Animation-Comic-Game Hong Kong 2015 and subsequently stocked by Toys"R"Us Hong Kong. Later, it was also available at The Falcon's Hangar booth at Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention 2015.

Unite Warriors

The ultimate boner of the year.
  • Devastor (giftset, December 12, 2015)
    • ID number: UW-04
    • English name: Devastator
    • Accessories: Missile launchers/hands, two-piece gun, chest plate/gun, 2 swords, 6 rifles
Takara's Bonecrusher, included in the Unite Warriors Devastor set, has some deco changes to better match the G1 cartoon. He also includes his classic handgun. In addition, his knees were also retooled. Instead of them being on ball joints, they are now on a swivel joint connected to a mushroom peg, providing better articulation. This change was also made to Scavenger.

Vintage G1

  • Devastator (Walmart exclusive reissue, 2018)
    • Team ID number: 1
    • Accessories: Robot head, head laser, 2 forearms/launchers, 2 fists, 2 drills, "super wing" chest plate, "missile mount" hip connector, "wing" pelvis armor, "magna laser"/"solar energy rifle", individual robot guns, Mixmaster's 2 missiles
The original Devastator toy was once again available, this time in the Walmart exclusive Vintage G1 series. All of the toys inside were cast in a slightly yellower shade of bright green than prior releases, and were given a new style of rubsign used on all of the Vintage G1 toys; the insignia only turns red rather than the mood-ring multicolor of older rubsigns, plus the silver border is mirror-level reflective.
Each individual toy in the set has a number of smaller differences from previous versions as well. In Bonecrusher's case, his forearm/launcher has the spring-loaded firing gimmick neutered for safety reasons, the ankles are now attached with a flat pin instead of a screw, the detailing on the parts such as the treads is not as sharp and deep compared to the original and Encore versions, and his mouthplate is now painted silver rather than black.

  • "Classic" Bonecrusher (3D Battle-Card, 2007)

    • Wave 2A: Devastator Deck
    • Rarity: RT
    • Card Number: T01/T06

Like the other members of combiner teams released as part of the Trading Card Game's Wave 2: Rise of the Combiners, as well as the other Constructicons included with the Devastator Deck, Bonecrusher, Demolitions is a folding card, with the Bot and Alt modes being depicted when the card is folded in half, and a holofoil portion of the the combined mode depicted when unfolded. The reverse of Bonecrusher, Demolitions depicts the upper right portion of Devastator.
The artwork for Bot and Alt Mode is reused from the Transformers Legends mobile game.
