Roleplay toy
While not the most common Transformers merchandise, Roleplay toys have a history dating back to the beginning of the franchise. They're known for a different play pattern compared to most Transformers toys. Some have unique alt modes that realistically scale as every day items. These allow kids to pretend play with them as though they were the real thing. Others are costume items, that allow them to imagine them being Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, or other characters.
Roleplay merchandise
Blasters and guns
A semi-common type of roleplay item are toy replicas of blasters or guns. These break down into two main types; those that shoot projectiles and those with electronics that produce light and sound. Given current safety standards, designs on these clearly apepar as toys, sporting things such as bright orannge tips on the barrels.
