Seeking to eliminate competition for the total conquest of all reality, Megatron arrives to destroy Unicron himself.

Synopsis

[edit]

A great many unknown beings exist throughout the universe. Some powerful, some civilized, some gods... And among the planets is an unique one, made up of and populated by machines—Cybertron, the homeworld of the super robot lifeforms known as the Transformers. Born, raised, and fought across space and time.

Now, it is on one Cybertron that its populace sees a god's gigantic hand smash onto the surface. This enormous god is Unicron, who was set his sights on destroying the planet due to offense taken at one Transformer's foolish actions. Cybertron's occupying Decepticon force tries to fight back the planetary robot, but their efforts amount to little more than those of gadflies.

Inside Unicron is a chamber seemingly containing his mind, which is aware of intruders from another spacetime as his physical body is busy ravaging Cybertron. The leader of the intruders steps into the chamber, and introduces himself as Megatron. Unicron correctly analyzes Megatron's terminology, concluding he comes from the world of Cloud, which he regards as a spacetime of fools playing at multiversal administration. Megatron ignores the insults towards his homeworld and explains that he learned of Unicron and his ability to exist across all dimensions and beyond spacetime through his contact with Angolmois Energy. If he is to be Emperor of Spacetime, he cannot brook multiversal existences other than those of Cloud Spacetime. Unicron is barely fazed by the upstart bug, laughingly mocking his cluelessness and how the Spacetime World would be thrown into chaos if he were destroyed—as if Megatron even could. Megatron uses the spacetime power of SARA to destroy what seems to be Unicron's "brain", but the laughter of Unicron nevertheless continues echoing throughout the chamber. Thinking the god's "core form" would be found elsewhere, Megatron orders Shockwave and Soundwave to split up and search for it. The former dawdles for a bit before leaving after further prodding by his leader. As the logician departs, Megatron catches sight of and welcomes Unicron's new guests... Optimus Prime and his Autobots.

After Megatron left in chase of SARA, many downed Decepticons and Autobots were left in the ruins of the Colosseum in the Underground of Cloud Spacetime. Astrotrain is the first to regain consciousness and, after recognizing that he had been abandoned by Megatron, spots the still-sleeping Optimus Prime. Seizing the opportunity to ascend the ranks of the Decepticons (hopefully to leader), Astrotrain takes aim at the fallen Autobot leader, but the latter is saved in the nick of time by Jazz, who has arrived with an Autobot transport ship to recover their fallen warriors. Skids attempts to interrogate Astrotrain on what happened, but the Autobots are forced to make a quick exit when they are bombarded by a mysterious formation of bombers led by a stealth plane.

After Optimus Prime recovered at Metropolis, the Autobots received Hot Rodimus's transmissions and rescued the Autobots stranded in 10-BS Spacetime. Tracking down SARA's energy signature to 01-OG Spacetime, the Autobots departed to confront Megatron for hopefully the final time. With only limited reserves of SARA's energy available to them, the Autobots had to use some discernment on who would be sent, based on their fighting strength and spirit.

In Unicron's core, Optimus Prime promises Megatron that letting him life was a mistake, but Megatron retorts it's exactly what he wanted: Optimus Prime squirming as he witnesses Megatron's domination of spacetime. He has arrived to 01-OG Spacetime, close to the OG-001 Spacetime they visited before, and likewise a fundamental spacetime of all events. Unicron's appearance in this particular spacetime acts as a keystone moment in the flow of time extending onwards from there. All the perfect to destroy him to assure his own reign as emperor of the totality of spacetime. Hot Rodimus find this chain of logic insane: Unicron must be naturally defeated by the local Transformers—changing that fact would ruin the timeline, along with the rest of the Spacetime World. Cutting things short, Optimus orders the other Autobots to give chase to the Decepticons scattered throughout Unicron while he handles Megatron—himself. Optimus questions what Megatron is seeking after all this, and Megatron admits that they simply had different perspectives on the future the Spacetime World... before. But surely Megatron recognizes this new plan would bring ruin to it. He has lost sight of his mission. Megatron reveals SARA within his chest and replies to Optimus's accusations that SARA will finally be "free" with him.

Elsewhere within Unicron, Starscream, Hellwarp, and Thundercracker are literally entangled dealing with Unicron's antibodies. Upon Starscream's suggestion that they split up to demolish the place, him and Hellwarp take off in separate directions, leaving poor Thundercracker tied up. Thankfully for the Seeker, Deadlock has more care for his teammates. Deeper into Unicron, Starscream's intentions are revealed as he thinks out loud of planning to ally with the Chaos Bringer to overthrow Megatron. He runs into Brawn, who's not here to give the upstart an easy time. In another corridor, the irritated Shockwave sees Hot Rodimus again and the two continue their constant back and forth. Roadbuster comes across Unicron's digestive acid pits and Hellwarp, but Roadbuster quickly gains Grimlock as a partner in this battle.

Optimus Prime exclaims upon the sight of SARA, instinctively reaching for her, but is knocked back by a spacetime beam that pierces his body. Megatron, again, insists that SARA must be "freed". He admits that, yes, he originally sought to preserve the Spacetime World the according to his ideology and using the power of SARA. But his four million years in an empty spacetime with her energy surging throughout his body has granted him a different perspective. The ever-expanding and chaotic Spacetime World will inevitably find its own destruction. Thus, he reasons, he should do the job himself, starting anew with his hands acting as God's. Optimus, realizing that the man he debated about the role of Cloud Spacetime is now forever lost, asks his rival if he truly thinks the wholesale destruction of everything is truly SARA's desire. Megatron rages at this questioning of his interpretation of SARA's will, but the battle is stopped by a voice—SARA's. This lull is cut short when Megatron plunges his Fusion Blade into Optimus, regretting he won't be around to see his ultimate ascent. Optimus begs SARA for her power, to which Megatron tells her to give, believing it will kill the poor fool.

A blinding flash of light fills the room... and where Optimus Prime stood now stands a lifeless statue of white ash.
