This article is about the heroic Decepticon subgroup. For their evil Decepticon counterparts, see Sweep (G1). For a list of other meanings, see Sweep (disambiguation).
Sweeps are heroic Decepticons from the Shattered Glass continuity family.
Yeah, we exist. That's all you get to know.

The Sweeps are a group of identical Decepticons with an unknown relationship to the ancient Cybertronian Scourge. In the post-war era, they have been relegated to menial duties.

The Sweeps tended to the Buoyancy in Hangar 1653, preparing it for a return flight to New Cybertron. They somehow let it get stolen by Nexus Prime's components. Coalescence

Timelines

The Shattered Glass Sweeps were repurposed from BotCon Scourge.
A retool of Cybertron Deluxe Class Sideways, Timelines Scourge is a blue and white alien spacefighter with Cyber Planet Key-activated pop-out blades built into his battle shield. He comes with a red Planet X style Cyber Key with blue deco. His wings can also detach from his ankles and be used as blades, with both pegging into his hands, either with one blade in each hand, or with both blades pegging into the top and bottom of a single hand, forming a double-bladed weapon. Sadly, the faction symbol-swapping gimmick has been neglected. Scourge was only available as part of a multi-pack at BotCon 2009.
This toy was redecoed to make Sweeps Two, Six, and Seven for the same convention. The original version of this mold was also used for the Japanese DVD-exclusive Noisemaze Mass Production Type Version and Universe Ratbat.

Notes

  • According to Jesse Wittenrich, since Shattered Glass Scourge is based on the BotCon 2009 Sweep toys, the Shattered Glass Sweeps would be based on the BotCon 2009 Scourge toy. [citation needed]
  1. "The core troop builders for this proposal were Scourge & the Sweeps. Cybertron Sideways felt like an odd choice at first. But once I mocked up the portrait and colors, it worked pretty well. I was happy how close the final looked to the concept. Here's the concept & final figure."—Joe Moore, Twitter, 2021/03/12
