Notes

• This final volume lumps together basically everything that doesn't neatly fit into the sequential narrative, including the Earthforce strips (which span off into their own timeline towards the end of Simon Furman's run, last seen in "The Magnificent Six!"), the various Annual stories (often written by other writers), and the G.I. Joe and the Transformers crossover (replaced by "Hunters" and "Ancient Relics!"), before finally ending on the Generation 2 revival and the profiles from The Transformers Universe. You'll note that many Annual stories were interspersed with the issues in the other Compendiums, so what's left here is really down to editorialising:
  • Stories from Transformers Annual 1985 written without knowledge of how the 1985 characters would be introduced in the US comic: "Plague of the Insecticons!", "Missing in Action" (and its sequel from the following year, "The Return of the Transformers"), and "Hunted!".
  • Prose recaps from the Annuals: "In the Beginning...", "The Saga of the Transformers — So Far!", and "The Quest!".
  • Prose adaptations of Headmasters: "Doomsday for Nebulos", "Stylor's Story", and "The Final Conflict".
  • Alternate-future stories: "Peace", "Destiny of the Dinobots!", and "Another Time & Place".
  • Stories that are otherwise just a pain to factor into continuity, mostly due to their somewhat arbitrary casts: "To a Power Unknown!", "Prime Bomb!", "Trigger-Happy!", "Dreadwing Down!", and "The Chain Gang!".
