"I thought the odds of success in this scenario were one in a million."
"I now think that we can increase that estimate to one percent."

Determined to investigate the Griffin Rock Triangle, Baranova conceived of Project Midgard, building a mobile undersea lab to do just that. Once Midgard was completed, Baranova discovered that the Triangle was the result of an undersea vent causing methane to bubble up and decided the best way to deal with it would be to drop an explosive into the vent and seal it. She knew the council would never approve of her plan, so she attempted it without consulting them, and the Midgard was caught in a methane eruption. The submersible crashed on a ledge in the trench, but with the lab's greenhouse and life support intact Baranova was able to survive.

Some twenty-eight years later, Cody Burns found the recordings Baranova had made, instigating a mission by the Burns family and their Rescue Bots to the trench beneath the Triangle. Baranova was surprised to see them and hostile to the idea of completing the mission, as the only way to do so would result in the destruction of her home, the Midgard. Cody was able to talk her around, and after they used the Midgard to seal the vent, she returned to the surface with them. Doc Greene set about organizing a replica of the Midgard for her to use as a dwelling. The Griffin Rock Triangle

When tracers ran loose, Baranova was the only one who recognized them as part of the Sanctuary Plan project. She passed the information on to Cody and Frankie Greene before one of the bugs teleported her to a cavern under Griffin Rock where most of the other townspeople had already been sent. They were eventually rescued by the Rescue Bots. Countdown

Baranova designed the Asgard, a space elevator which used a huge laser beam to propel it into space. Following a near-disastrous launch, the Asgard reached orbit piloted by Graham Burns and Doc Greene, with Baranova herself remaining on Earth as mission control. She attempted to bring the Asgard down again after it was damaged by an asteroid, however it was discovered that the ship had become untethered. She contacted NASA, but they were unable to supply a rescue ship. Space Bots After the Rider of Midwinter left her a loaf of bread, she turned up to the Midwinter Morning bonfire. Professor Baranova was able to deal with an out-of-control Dither by telling him she wanted some toast. She and Doc Greene later had dinner together. Bot-Tastic Voyage After Doc Greene left her on the floating lab with Frankie so the pair could get to know each other, Baranova answered a distress signal and was captured by big game hunter Quint Quarry, who intended to use her for leverage to get Greene to build him dinobots. After an attempt by Frankie to rescue her backfired, the two worked together to escape and joined up with Doc Greene and Blades. In the process of them rescuing the other Rescue Bots, Baranova learned that they were sentient machines, and was later welcomed into the family by Optimus Prime. Quarry's Quarry

Baranova attended the opening of an old time capsule and was surprised when it contained a quantum crystal. An accident with the crystal resulted in the entire island being transported to the Arctic. Now and Then She helped Doc Greene produce floatium with which to fly the island back to Maine. He later proposed to her and, after the pair had a near-death experience thanks to a sinkhole, she accepted. She and the other townsfolk had to work to keep the island in the air until it could reach its usual resting place. Today and Forever

During the next three years, the Greenes had a new arrival in the form of CeCe, who was more than a handful. During the Velgrox invasion, Ezra and Anna were abducted while turning on the laboratory's satellite dish and later rescued along with the rest of the captured townsfolk. New Normal

At some point, Doc Greene and Professor Baranova got involved in developing the Scrubber Initiative. Upgrades

The Greenes had to hunt for CeCe after their daughter became locked in the back vault, but they were later reunited thanks to the new Rescue Bot Quickshadow. Arrivals Frankie was too busy doing research with Professor Baranova to play Burns Ball with Cody. Vanishing Returns Professor Baranova attended a desalinization conference in Oslo with Frankie. All Spark Day After a unidentifed person broke into the laboratory, Baranova reported it to Chief. A Brush with Danger

Doc and Professor Baranova finally let Frankie in on the Scrubber Initiative, just in time for the laboratory in Faxian to run into problems. Baranova returned to her west coast laboratory to work on the hive mind technology as part of the project, only for it to be stolen by the Morocco virus despite Chase's team being on hand to guard the lab. Upgrades When Morocco took over the Training Center, Baranova developed an antivirus and raced across the country by road in Blurr in order to reclaim the mainframe. She was later present when Optimus doled out new assignments to the rescue team Transformations
