Process

Is there a process for deciding what gets to be considered a Featured Article, or is it basically "Whatever the admins like this month?" -- G1MarvelBlaster 11:29, 8 December 2009 (EST) (Who may be lobbying to get Target: 2006 Featured Article status.)

Yeah, we usually use imminent end-of-the-month deadlines to push Almost There articles into completion. It's a pretty good tool! Something finished a long while ago is much less likely to be Featured for a particular month for that reason, since if we already have something ready to go, there's no drive to finish another article. --ItsWalky 15:12, 27 December 2009 (EST)

I agree. I've done some minor edits to Springer's article (Sticker book and added a few Marvel UK pictures) but I don't have access to TFCC material so I can't fill that out. I am willing to dive into the Dreamwave stuff and expand that section in the morning. Missing

Multiplie articles that were labeled as afeatured articles are no longer on the list. Why?Mojotron 06:54, 29 March 2012 (EDT)

Sometimes, a featured article might be just chosen because it's well timed to focus on that character or idea, like zombies at Halloween - Optimus, for example, was a quick choice made by me when we were several days late for changing the article, and I just threw him up because the Prime cartoon was returning that week and it seemed a good thematic tie-in, rather than because his was "one of the most informative articles". And look at Megatron - he's currently missing a write-up of Exiles and the Wii WFC game, and he and Galvatron are missing pictures for quite a few things. If the articles don't have the FA template on 'em, it's for a reason. (Not, mind you, that I'm sure there aren't some articles that were once FAs that haven't since slipped as time has gone on and now aren't as complete as they could be). - Chris McFeely 09:30, 31 March 2012 (EDT)

Keeping articles for constantly updated characters like the Prime characters on the FA list is generally a bad idea. Inevitably, they'll become incomplete as people stop updating them. You can already see it happening with Megatron (Prime) and Ratchet (G1)'s IDW section. (And, holy crap, Megatron's WFC section really needs to be pruned.) —Interrobang 14:08, 31 March 2012 (EDT)

Bringing this back up, pages like Ratchet's and most of Megatron's main page (discounting cartoon, IDW, toy, and Merchendise pages) are really lagging behind. I know I'm nowhere near good enough to do stuff beyond minor edits, but it just really bothers me to see that these are sort of lagging behind, and I want to do something about it. Possible Ironhide(G1)?

I know it may seem like personal bias with my profile and all, but does anyone else think Ironhide (G1) deserves a page? If people think he doesn't its fine, I think it would a good choice. Also, is a new one selected every month, maybe Ironhide is for June 2015(if there isn't another already). He is in the Hall of Fame. Heck, Wheelie has his own article featured. Ironhide had a much bigger impact on transformers than Wheelie. Let's get our old Deceptichop buster his rightful reward!(in my opinion). Tell people, let's get this cause to grow! But who else will take the June slot( if I assume correctly this is a monthly update? I'm fairly new to this wiki.)? Do we have somebody else? I applaud your initiative in this and your devotion to Ironhide in particular. But yes, I think that article is missing too much conspicuous info to get the Featured role yet. Good. Just wanted to make sure. I think both are good choices for the featured article (I like the character of Straxus (G1) better, and it is complete, but I feel Optimus Prime (Movie) has a lot of good work done it(great job McFeely)). Springer

Springer (G1) could use a good working over. The images on his page, in particular, are by and large terrible. We got two shots of the back of his head, several primary media that don't even include a full-body shot, an RG1 pic where he's just a distant stick figure, and not a single pic of his car mode. Cleanup needed

A lot of articles here are no longer complete (Airachnid, Ironhide, AllSpark, Rampage, etc). Maybe we should either get those articles off this list, or fix them up. Cylasbreakdown (talk) 18:36, 23 February 2018 (EST)
