Dammit, the red-linked list was extremely helpful to me in determining what articles we need. --ItsWalky 12:03, 10 July 2009 (EDT)

I had the same thought, admittedly, especially seeing as how there's still a lot of characters that are "bio-only" and thus won't have regular links anywhere.
And yet, I can't disagree that that section was getting too unwieldy and inappropriate to keep on the franchise page. Maybe we can make a red-linked or full list as a subpage to this page or something like that? --Jeysie 12:09, 10 July 2009 (EDT)
Oh sure, NOW you tell us! There's no reason the full list can't be thrown into a Sandbox page somewhere for reference. -- Repowers 12:13, 10 July 2009 (EDT)
Sadly, #wiigii! discussions are not archived on wiki talk pages. Siph and I gabbed about it a bit last night or the night before. Oh, and your discussion with Derik, judging by timestamps, was no more than TEN MINUTES LONG. Sorry I didn't jump in there, dude! I was busy eating lunch! --ItsWalky 12:22, 10 July 2009 (EDT)

Perhaps we can past the removed contents in this talk page as a section or create as a subpage (Category talk:Shattered Glass characters/subpage) [though I prefer the former], so we can check out the red links? --TX55TALK 12:14, 10 July 2009 (EDT)

Wait, I just had a thought. The Shattered Glass TFs, at least, all have "toys" in the sense that they're represented by what would be repaints/retools/redecos of existing toys (if those repaints, etc. actually existed), right? So why not create a Shattered Glass (virtual toyline) page, then? That would at least cover all of the redlinked TFs. --Jeysie 12:20, 10 July 2009 (EDT)

What about the humans? Pretty much ALL the humans are redlinked, and there's a buttload. --ItsWalky 12:23, 10 July 2009 (EDT)
I guess the question is, do the humans have TFCC bios or other canon but non-story places they've been established? Or do they just show up when used in the fiction? If it's the latter, they'd have Featured Character redlinked entries in the fiction articles to work from, much like the humans in normalverse stories.
Whereas the problem I see with the TFs is that there's lots which have TFCC bios, but haven't been used in stories... and since Shattered Glass doesn't have a toyline page (yet) either, there's just no "normal" reason I can think of to stick a redlink anywhere that says, hey, this character needs a page.
Plus, honestly, making an SG "toyline" page might be useful info anyway outside of this purpose, now that I think about it. If we really need a full list of non-TFs outside of the fiction articles, we can just post that here as a quick reference. --Jeysie 12:38, 10 July 2009 (EDT)
But if a list of characters is redundant with the SG characters category, then clearly a list of toys would be redundant with the SG toy images category. --ItsWalky 12:52, 10 July 2009 (EDT)
No moreso than any of the existing toyline pages on this wiki are, I would think. --Jeysie 13:13, 10 July 2009 (EDT)
I like the "virtual toyline" idea, especially as the "toys" section is getting a bit out-of-hand.
Otherwise, I don't see how Shattered Glass is any different than any other franchise. We don't justify having a master list of Generation 1 characters on its franchise page just because it makes it easier to find red links. Again, if such a thing is useful, that's what Sandboxes and talk pages are for. (Are there really that many bio-only SG characters? Steeljaw's the only one I know of. All the humans should be on the featured characters list of the individual stories.) -- Repowers 12:54, 10 July 2009 (EDT)
Mainly because we don't need a master list for any other franchise... the other franchises all have everyone covered under either a toyline page or the fiction pages, so there's always a redlink somewhere that says we need a page. --Jeysie 13:13, 10 July 2009 (EDT)
I like the idea of a toyline page so I started work on one in my sandbox Dead Metal 05:25, 11 July 2009 (EDT)

Punch/Counterpunch

[edit]

Just why exactly are we listing those two as separate characters? ---Blackout- 14:34, 22 July 2009 (EDT)

Part of the gag.--RosicrucianTalk 14:35, 22 July 2009 (EDT)
Yeah, I copied how the normalverse Punch and Counterpunch are also listed separately in categories. --Jeysie 14:41, 22 July 2009 (EDT)

Shattered Glass Sari Sumdac

[edit]

How do i add her to this category/page? or does she belong on the Shattered Glass Autobots page, or the Shattered Glass Humans page?

70.17.202.10 04:50, 3 January 2012 (EST)

Never mind, she's already on the page of SG 'Bots. (i was looking for her to be alphabetized under "Sari" instead of "Sumdac".) i still want to know how to add someone to a list like this, though--when i hit the "edit" link, NONE of the listed characters appeared to be listed.

70.17.202.10 04:52, 3 January 2012 (EST)

If you hit edit on Sari Sumdac (SG Animated), you should see [[Category:Shattered Glass Autobots]] at the bottom - that's how articles are added to categories. --abates 04:58, 3 January 2012 (EST)
