The Dreadnoks' pursuit of Duke and Cobra Commander leads to deadly encounters, while Destro is eager to profit from his latest acquisition.

Synopsis

Destro announces to Mercer, Chameleon, and Major Bludd that he will be taking over Cobra while Cobra Commander is in absentia. Mercer questions this decision, concerned it may be premature, but Destro is eager to use Cobra as a new business venture. Calling up a number of his previous clients, he announces to the gathered warlords and politicians that Cobra is open for business.

Meanwhile, in the Chihuahuan Desert, Duke and Cobra Commander flee from the Dreadnoks. The Commander tells Duke to free him, as the only way they'll survive is by working together, and he has no plans to die today. Duke reluctantly concedes, uncuffing the Commander and allowing him to grab his machine gun to return fire on the Dreadnoks, taking out a number of their "new recruits". Zarana doesn't care how many rookies they lose so long as they get Cobra Commander. Buzzer leaps onto the hood of their jeep and saws through the engine, forcing them bail out and leap-frog across various Dreadnoks to commandeer one of their trucks. Now in the driver's seat, Cobra Commander leads them into a narrow canyon, allowing Duke to use the grenades on his belt to bring the canyon down on the Dreadnoks, with only Zarana and Zandar able to stop in time to avoid the cave in. Buzzer and Ripper manage to pull themselves from the rubble, finding a trail of footprints and blood leading from the wrecked truck Duke and Cobra Commander were driving.

Back at The Pit, Colonel Hawk demands to know where the rest of G.I. Joe is. Clutch informs him that Stalker, Risk, and Baroness are in Chicago, and that Duke is investigating an Energon signal in Texas, but hasn't yet checked in. Hawk tells him that there's been chatter amongst the intelligence community regarding Cobra and Destro, and to report to him as soon as Duke checks in.

As the sun sets in the Texas desert, Duke and Cobra Commander come across an abandoned shanty town. The Commander insists they keep moving, but Duke says they'll need supplies if they hope to last through the night. The Commander wanders into one of the abandoned houses, discovering a drove of pigs before being hit in the head with a hammer made from a cinderblock. Duke spots Buzzer and Ripper approaching in the distance and goes to alert the Commander… only to find a menacing man in a pig mask standing in the doorway!

  • In the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero series from Marvel Comics, Road Pig - real name Donald DeLuca - was portrayed as having a "[[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}dissociative identity disorder|{{#if:split personality|split personality|dissociative identity disorder}}]]", constantly alternating between the refined and well-spoken Donald and the violent and simplistic Road Pig.
